"baby please have mercy on me! im a puppet on your string! and even though you had good intentions, i need you to set me free! im begging you for mercy, mercy!" you sang out. ethan clutched his ears at your horrible singing and kept his eyes on the road. "im begging you, begging you, please baby!"

"y/n! you can't sing! everyone knows how obsessed you are with shawn mendes!" he laughs when he sees your jaw drop.

"i can sing! maybe not like shawn mendes because he has the voice of an angel, but i can sing."

ethan scoffs. "yeah, right. and i can do a front flip."

"just wait until we get to our destination. i'll show you how much i can sing," you smirked.

"why can't you show me now?" he pushed on.

"cause' i feel under pressure. shut up," you giggled when he looked over at you and gave you a toothy smile. you heart warmed up at the sight.

the windows were rolled down as you and ethan drove the the country. the only thing that surrounded you were fields of flowers and green grass that went on for miles. the two of you packed your bags and decided to go on a road trip to nowhere. the both of you had no idea where you were going.

you brushed the red hair off of ethan's forehead to only have it fly back with the rest of his hair. you reached over the console and gave him a kiss on the cheek with a smile on your lips.

"what was that for?" his cheeks turned a shade of red and he chuckled.

"because, you're just really beautiful, ethan," you say.

he smiles. "stop it."

"no! you ethan grant dolan are a piece of art. and you're so d.amn beautiful." he thanks you by grabbing your hand and kissing the back the back of it. he then proceeds to play the radio when another shawn mendes song comes on.

i wanna follow where she goes.

"i think about her and she knows it!" you sing once again. ethan only smiles and enjoys the rest of the road trip with you. because you were worth it, and there had been nothing holding him back.
