"shit! shit! shit!" you yelled and angrily kicked a nearby trash can on your way to school. you were filled with anger and sadness, mostly anger. how could he choose r/g/n over you? he's known you for such a long time and r/g/n for a shorter amount of time. of course that doesn't make much of a difference but it did to you. ethan told you things about himself that people usually don't and you did the same with him.

you were filled with such anger that it began to influence your mind. you wanted revenge on r/g/n but you knew it wouldn't really solve much. ethan would probably think less of you and you didn't want that. but the steaming tears that burned your cheeks spoke otherwise.

when you arrived to school, everyone was oddly looking at your puffy red eyes. usually you pranced into school with the twins by your side but today was very different.

grayson was already standing by your locker waiting for you with a reusable water bottle in his hand. his head was down looking at his phone, probably watching people building random things or wilderness videos.

"i don't get how they did that! are you seeing this, y/n? how in the fuck did they build that? holy shit!" grayson lost himself in the video.

you sniffed and shrugged. "yeah," your voice was shaky.

he immediately looked up. "hey, what's wrong?" he brought you into his embrace. "did something happen? who's ass do i have to kick?"

"your brother," you sighed. "he and r/g/n we're talking about their stupid feelings for each other and i just so happened to be there. he chose her over me, so i guess they're dating now? i don't know, it's bullshit, gray. i've been in love with him since we were kids! i came crying to you multiple times because he went on dates or kissed other girls but i still loved him and i don't know why. it's so unfair."

grayson sighed and kissed the top of your head. "oh y/n, im sorry. i wish there was something i could do. ethan is indeed very stupid and he doesn't know a good thing when he sees it."

once again, you were left feeling like an idiot with even more tears streaming from your eyes and there was nothing you could do about it. ethan, the love of your life, chose someone else over you and there was no going back from that. no matter how much you loved him, you just weren't enough for him.
