part two to time

after running from time, ethan found himself walking down the busy streets of new york with it lingering in his mind. how had time exactly gotten his letter? how was time even a real person? it all didn't make any sense to ethan, he swore he was going crazy.

lost in his thoughts, he didn't notice the lady in red bump his shoulder. "watch it," he snapped.

she looked taken aback and furrowed her eyebrows. "im so sorry. is there anything i can do to make it better?" ethan made a weird face at her before turning on his heels and walking away but she was persistent. "i really am sorry, ethan. i didn't want to fail you, and i still haven't."

"how do you know my name?" he paused his footsteps and looked to the woman.

she tucked her hair behind her hair. "do you not recognize me? here," she handed him a white letter with the addressor to love. "maybe this will ring a bell."

ethan opened the letter and read the familiar painful words.

dear love,

     goodbye.

he rubbed his eyes. "oh god."

"why goodbye? you make it sound so final as if i won't be with you anymore," she spoke sadly.

ethan nodded. "that's because you're not here with me. i abandoned you."

"but i never abandoned you."

"how could you do this to me?" ethan confessed. "how could you leave me so effortlessly? you were everywhere and within me, so why did you fail me? i thought you were always supposed to be there for me even in the darkest of days but i was wrong. you're only here when it's convenient and i guess that's why you're gone now. you have no meaning to me anymore."

love shakes her head. "that's where you're wrong. im always with you, ethan."

"i saw you everyday in her eyes, i heard you in her laugh, i felt you in my heart and you fucked me over! that's unforgivable and i want nothing to do with you," ethan fled away with love calling out his name, hoping for a second chance.
