"y/n," ethan sighs. "what are you doing here?"

y/n stands with her elbows on her knees with a bottle of water in front of her on the cold bleachers. she casually sips at it when she feels her emotions running empty, like now.

she shrugged. "i don't know anymore."

ethan looked confused. "what do you mean?"

"i mean, that i don't know. it's simple, dolan. don't you understand?"

"but you never come to my practices. so why start now?" he sets his sweaty helmet on the bleachers after he sits down beside you.

"i just want to be the person you want me to be, ethan. that's all."

he yet again looks confused. "what's wrong with you?"

"i just wanna see what you see in me! im a pathetic no life loser! so why me? i just wish i could be cool like you and i-"

ethan cuts her off. "hey, hey, calm down. it's okay, come here," he pulls y/n into his sweaty chest but she didn't seem to mind. the embrace somehow seemed to make her feel better.

"i wish i could be who i want to be." y/n looks out on the field and see the cheerleaders sending her dirty looks, along with the football players on ethan's team gesturing thrusting moves, which made her feel sick. "i think i should go," she pulls away from his embrace.

ethan opens his mouth but quickly closes it. "o-okay. i'll see you later?"

she says nothing in return as she grabs her water bottle and descends to the bottom of the bleachers without ever turning back.
