"wait, wait, wait," ethan stepped back and closed his eyes. his thoughts pondered as he attempted to gather himself. "so you're telling me that we have a soulmate appointed for us? that's crazy."

michael, the architect who built the town, sighs. "ah, yes. i see how that may be, but that's how it works here in the good place. everyone is paired with their forever soulmate for eternity."

they walk through the shops and cafes through the small town until they come across his new dream home. it was a normal sized house in the middle of a field. there was even a beautiful woman sitting outside of the home with a cup in her hand.

"y/n!" michael says.

"hi michael! how are you?" y/n asks with a smile.

"im doing great. um, this here is ethan dolan and he's your soulmate. you'll both be sharing this home and hopefully you two will be just happy in this paradise," michael pats ethan on the back, leaving him alone with y/n.

ethan waves at michael before he turns to y/n with a worried look on his face. "so, soulmate. i can trust you, right?"

y/n nods. "of course. im now loyal to you, soulmate."

"so if i tell you something, will you tell anyone else? like michael?"

"no. it'll stay between us."

"okay," ethan gives in and takes a breath. "i don't belong here. they have the wrong person. im supposed to be in the bad place."

"sorry, come again?"
