this is based off of the book "All The Bright Places" which is a beautiful but very sad book. i loved it very much, and it made me sad but it was very real. i wish you all can read it, but it may be triggering to some. but it's still very beautiful.

you stared out of the car window admiring the stars that light up the sky as ethan drives down the empty streets of indiana.

"i can't do this," he immediately pulled over at a gas station and unbuckled his seat belt. he got out of the car and went over to your side and opened your door. he pulled you out and dragged you to the backseat. you were confused as he closed the door and placed his lips on yours.

you were dealing with heavy things in your life and never thought you would find happiness again. your history teacher paired you and ethan up for a project to search your state of indiana. you both found very interesting sights and documented all of them down.

soon enough, he would steal you in the middle of the night and drive you places that didn't even have to do with the project. you eventually began to fall for him too.

"ethan," you breathed out and began to lay back more. his lips went back to yours as he smiled.

"you have no idea how long i've been wanting to do that," he showed you a goofy smile before peeking your lips and sitting up.

"why'd you stop then?" you whispered and sat up.

he grabbed your hand and kissed your cheek. "i don't wanna rush this. i really like you, y/n."

"yeah. i really like you too."
