Barnabas (p.o.v) (Journal Entry) 

I had met the most beautiful creature that has ever lived, her name was Sofia. And what a kind young woman she was to me when I had met her this evening. I wonder why Elizabeth did not tell me we had a guest staying with us. But that is just my curiosity really. Ah Sofia, what a beautiful name that is, a name like Sofia so beautiful I could not bear to part with a single syllable of it. I must get to know this woman better. Perhaps Carolyn would know, and she could tell me the art of courting this woman. For I must get to know her. 

(Sofia p.o.v.) 

The following day was going by quickly, the time seems to pass by so fast I don't even notice. It was such beautiful day I knew I had to get out of the manor for a while. I think I will go down to the beach for a while and go for a nice walk with David. And that's precisely what I did. I walked down the shoreline for what seemed like hours but it was only a few minutes really. As I walked down the shoreline I couldn't help but notice a strange person standing there, as I came closer I realized it was Barnabas. I looked behind me to see that David was wandering off like he always did. I smiled and made my way towards Barnabas, who was watching the waves crash on the beach. "Hello Barnabas." I said. Barnabas saw me and turned to face me. "Ah Sofia." he said with a smile. "Mind if I tag along?" I asked. "Nothing would make me happier." he said as he offered an arm for me to take. Which I gladly accepted. We began to walk arm in arm down the shoreline. "I see that you and master David are getting along well." he said. I smiled. "Yes we are, he's a wonderful boy. And very smart too, I guess Vicky taught him well." I laughed. Barnabas smiled. "He's a fine lad, I bet he's as curious and rambunctious as I was." he said. "He idolizes you I hear, between you and his mother I can hardly get him to talk about anything else." I said. 

"You believe him, that he sees her and speaks to her?" he asked. I nodded. "I do, I believe he does see her. I also think it makes him happy knowing that she is there watching over him." I said. "I could not say it any better my dear." he said. I blushed and nodded slightly. As we walked towards the end of the shoreline I could see a crowd of people gathered before something, and there was loud music in the distance. I wondered what it was. As Barnabas and I got closer we could hear the music really well and someone singing on a stage. Barnabas saw who it was and smiled. "Ah Miss Riley is performing this evening! how wonderful." he said. I raised an eyebrow. "Who's Riley?" I asked. "Riley is a rock singer, she sings with her lover Lestat. They do put on quite the performance." he said. I looked at the banner on stage and it read "The Vampire Lestat." I had never heard of this band before and I admit they sounded really good! "Would you like to watch them miss Sofia?" asked Barnabas. I nodded. "I would love too!" I said. Barnabas led me to the front row where we could best see them. The sun was going down as the next song began to play and the song seemed to be a cover. I knew what it was! It was the song All I wanna do is make love to you by heart. That was my favorite song! I couldn't believe they were covering it tonight. And Riley's voice was so beautiful and very powerful I have to say. As well as Lestat's voice, both of their voices together was even more powerful. Barnabas and I watched as they sang the song in it's entirety.

The entire crowd cheered and applauded the band as the song ended. I was very impressed! Barnabas took my hand and led me backstage as the crowd disappeared. Riley and Lestat were both on stage and they saw us. Riley smiled. "Barnabas Collins!" she said. Barnabas smiled. Riley jumped off the stage. "Hello Miss Riley." he said and gave her a hug. Riley hugged him back and then let go. "It's good to see you again." she said. "My dear you and Lestat were wonderful this evening." he said. Riley smiled. "Aww thank you." she said. Her eyes darted to me. "Who's this?" she asked. "Miss Riley this is Sofia, she is a friend of Carolyn's" he said. "Ah that's awesome! Nice to meet you Sofia." she said as we shook hands. "Nice to meet you too Riley."I replied. Riley let go of my hand and Lestat came down to join us. "Barnabas, how are you?" said Lestat. Barnabas and Lestat shook hands. "It is good to see you again my friend." said Barnabas. Lestat chuckled. "And you as well, and who might this be?" asked Lestat as he looked at me. I had to say Lestat was very good looking. Riley was lucky to have someone like him. "This is Sofia, she is a friend of Carolyn's" he said. Lestat smiled and shook my hand. "Nice to meet you Sofia." he said. "Nice to meet you too Lestat." I said. 

We talked for a while before heading back to Collinwood. My evening with Barnabas was extraordinary. I found out that David was already there, Vicky saw him and brought him home. Thank goodness! Elizabeth would have been upset. Barnabas led me into the manor and to the door to my bedroom. "That was wonderful Barnabas! Thank you." I said. Barnabas smiled. "You are most welcome my dear, and I would love to do it again someday. If you wouldn't mind..." he trailed off. I smirked before giggling. "Barnabas are you asking me out on a date?" I asked. Barnabas blushed. "Yes." he said. I smiled. "I would love too!" I said. "Very well, until then my dear. Goodnight." he said and kissed my hand. I blushed. "Goodnight Barnabas." I said and kissed his cheek. I entered my room and shut the door behind me. Barnabas was still blushing once the door shut. I sighed happily. "Such a gentleman." I whispered. I heard a slight chuckle before hearing footsteps going down the hall and into another room. I think Barnabas might of heard that.
