a ray of sunshine
in my life,
you wipe away
the tears
on the busy streets
of my clamorous mind

You're
a twinkling hope
you burst your light
in the heavy darkness
of the tunnels of my soul

You're
the cool breeze
of the sunkissed air
you stay by my side
no matter how many waves
crash at our feet

And when the storms
evade my heart
you stand in the rain
with me drenching
in my miseries

There are times
I wonder
why you would
want to shiver
in the cold with me

But you tell me
no matter the rain
no matter the storm
no matter the snow
the sun's always up there
waiting for us
to notice its presence
