Shortly after hiding out and turning the target, they ran. As far away as possible without looking back. Searching for a place to call home they land around a town that was just founded all but 400 years later. Mystic Falls.

Damon and Rose met after he came home from the war, Kathrine introduced him as her lover and Rose as her best friend.
