Is It The End?

The scene unfolded soon. Capulet and Montague reached the same destination but their paths remained separated.

The night appeared to be much darker for an unknown reason. The moon goddess nowhere to be seen. The forest appeared to be haunting and the trees were sinful and hideous under the gaze. The emotion called Fear bubbled inside the chests and heart beated faster than the swishing wind and the emotion was soon replaced by terror.

Terror of the unknown.

Gloominess blanketed the sky and goosebumps were felt on the skin. Their steps never halted and fiegning confidence both the parties arrived at the secene.

The prince had ordered them to meet him at the clear ground inside the forest.

The area had once been the land where people rioted and bathed in blood. The story was unknown to people as it had never been passed down to anyone. No one survived to sang the struggle and sorrowful screams. The battle was long forgotten.

The incident was ancient but the ground still beheld the drops of blood, seeped through the grains and remains of the dead which was mounted by the bare soil that held itself intact after so many decades.

A magnificent stage for a tragedy to take place.

A change to be made.

A story to end and a new...beginning.

They spotted Prince Escalus standing above the ruins of an ancient history. He held a blank expression like an artist who was presenting his masterpiece.

A piece that was mastered again and again over the ages.

The art of death.

The rival families joined him bowing down and paying respects while maintaining distance between each other. Truth to be told, distance was just a number used as a tool and in much cases; as an excuse.

"What is the matter, his highness?" Romeo's father enquired receiving a none too kind glare from Juliet's father. He returned a cold glare.

"I had been witnessing the chaos you both rivals had been creating these past years." Prince Escalus said in a commanding voice. "I was intrigued by the young lovers whose dreams and unfortunately future too, has been crushed under your wrath." His hands danced along the air, cutting and moving through it while creating a masterpiece. "I, hereby, relieve you both. Proceed we shall, gentleman and maintain the silence if you may."

They bowed again while Prince Escalus showed them the way. Questions crawling out of their holes, fabricated with curiosity but fear and respect kept them prisoner. They stayed silent.

The stage was set and the artists ready in their costumes. The customes of poison and love mixed with drama. An act passed down from century to century.

Both the parents gasped at the scene. They turned furious, yet again. They began to move and disturb the scene being performed infront.

Prince Escalus held his sword pointing in their direction. "They are saying goodbye." He muttered.

This halted both the parents but not without an arguement.

They watched Romeo and Juliet standing infront of each other while hiding in the dark.

The moon had blessed the light upon the young lovers. It was lot easier to see both Romeo and Juliet now. Their eyes shone under the gaze of moon.

They waited and waited. It felt like forever but it has been only few minutes. Time was not a concept to love.

Soon Juliet screams tore the silence apart. Once. Twice. Thrice. They never stopped and the scene shifted from pain to madness. The act often presented by mob.

Love, a limitless concept.

Capulet and Montague rushed to the scene watching Romeo lying lifeless on the ground while Juliet wailed endlessly by his side.

They couldn't understand what happened. Puzzled, they turned to Juliet.

Romeo's father fell on his knees while tears filled his eyes.

"It's all your fault." She screamed.  "You both couldn't keep your past behind and look what had it done. Your nonsense rivalry has cost the life of my love, my Romeo. Are you satisfied?" Juliet wailed mournfully. Her eyes filled with torment and tears of anger ran down her cheeks.

"Romeo is dead and it's all your fault." The accusation shook both the fathers to their core. The men who accompanied them where blinking their tears rapidly. Tybalt fell to the ground beside a lifeless Romeo.

The action made the witnesses shiver.

The faces turned to both the fathers who looked at the ground in shame and sorrow. It appeared as if they were pleading the earth to swallow them.

It was then when something complete unexpected happen.

"I would do anything do bring him back, Juliet." Juliet's father said mournfully.

An enemy wished for the life of an enemy.

A phrase never heard before in their land.

Death, truly is a change.

Romeo's father gave him a surprised look. He never thought the other man would do anything for his son's life. His heart softened while his body weakend by the circumstances.

Both the older men looked at each other and that one look took all their enmity behind. All there left was regret and a new beginning.

Nothing could bring back the dead, they knew that. Worst was, they believed that.

Juliet cried and cried beating her hands against Romeo's chest and accusing everyone and even herself reapeatedly.

It wasn't suppose to end like this. Was it really?

Was love so possibly impossible?

Was Love, the greatest power of all bowing down to Death?

Was this the end?

The final blow was yet to made. A final twist before everything fell in places or either fell totally apart.

How could a similar action have different consequences?

"A true love's kiss." Tybalt said out of the blue. Juliet stopped crying.

Everyone gave him a raised eye-brow with a look of bewilderment except Juliet. They thought he was mocking the dead.

"It is not a fairytale." Romeo's father spoke at the same moment Juliet's father did. They looked at each other but instead of hatred there was sympathy in their eyes.

Tyablt made the move.

"No it is not but their love for each other is true. It brought you two enemies together in an instant. It is powerful and real. Juliet, kiss him." Tybalt said shameless.

It brought you two enemies together, the words echoed in their mind. Enemies, the name felt stinging suddenly. They didn't knew why they were enemies. They never bothered to change the track they had been passing through ages.

They were at a cross now.

Enemies or not? Capulet and Montague didn't bother about inserting the term 'friends'. If one see it past the black and white morals then among the different shades of grey truth can be seen lying naked.

What do we call someone who is not our enemy?

The answer lied bare across the sights of their mind.

Everyone hesitated but tonight was night for a change, a miracle. They decided to initiate the change.

Juliet didn't made a move until her father firmly pressed her hand and give her a nod. Tears were streaming down her cheeks endlessly but this time they held a hint of happiness.

She moved her eyes towards Romeo. Her hands captured Romeo's in a firm hold. She lowered her head and looked at the slightly pale face of Romeo.

The moon shined brighter like the lights spotted towards the stage for the scene to outshine.

Nature, a mystical being.

"I love you, Romeo. I dreamt to marry you with our families standing side by side. I wished to have our children, a lot of them." Juliet said with a wet smile and a light giggle. Tears running down her cheek. The hearts of every person melted watching the scene. "Please come back, love. I promise I would never leave you. I promise."

She leaned watching her lover's closed eyes and dry lips. She kiss him with all her might and after being satisfying she leaned away.

She felt the kiss magical like every other she shared with Romeo.

Romeo's eyes were still closed. His body laid still on the hard ground.

Did it not worked?

Juliet felt defeated and threw her head screaming loud. The cry shooked everyone to their core.

"I want to die. Please, I don't want to live without him." Juliet cried out loud holding Romeo's body and suddenly her hands went to grab her father's sword.

They say, love your life but how could someone live when there was no love?

She struggled against her father and father-in-law who told her not be stupid.

The tug-of-war began between a lover and loved ones.

Is a war all about winning?

Is it possible for both the teams to win?

The scene was reaching it's end. The last strike and everything will change.

Change, such an inevitable call.

"Juliet." Tybalt called but Juliet kept snatching the sword.

"Juliet." He tried again but Juliet was too busy grabbing the sword away.

"Juliet." Tybalt yelled loudly. Everyone stopped doing whatever they were doing and looked at Tybalt. He looked down at Romeo and said something magical.

"Romeo is breathing."

The curtains fell.

                       _______________

It might get confusing since a lot was going in this chapter. The title "Is it the End?" was chosen beacuse I needed to end the chaos both the families had put during their fights to an end.

The scenario was called a scene or play in this chapter beacuse Romeo and Juliet were acting.

Prince Escalus called them and they plotted the scene to show their parents what could have happen. They both couldn't live without each other, that was a given. So they tried and tried until their last breath.

Romeo was under a sedative during the whole time which slowed his heart beat.

It was written the way it was because people change their opinions regarding a situation once they see the consequences.

Their parents would have become friend even if they had died for real and both the love birds knew that with the knowledge of Prince Escalus. They showed them the consequence and people changed their mind.

The loss was too much they realised.

What do you think would happen next?

Would Romeo get to marry Juliet?

Or would there be another twist?

I would love to hear your opinions.
