The water droplets dripped down on his face and he woke up from his slumber scrunching his nose. Sanskar opened his eyes and saw Ragini hovering over him, biting her lower lip to control her grin, water dripping from her wet hair.

With one swift motion, Sanskar snaked his arms through her waist and pulled her under him. He caressed her face with his palm and she closed her eyes involuntarily. He leaned in closer, closing his own eyes. As his lips were a hair strand away from hers, he felt a push on his chest and landed on his back on the bed while Ragini stood up immediately with a mischievous grin.

"Go brush your teeth first, Mr. Singhania"

Sanskar got up on his feet and moved to the bathroom sulking.

"You are gonna pay for this, Mrs. Singhania" he grumbled as he closed the door.

"I'll be waiting." he heard her call out as she exited their room.

Sanskar descended  down the stair and walked towards the direction of their kitchen. He saw Ragini arranging their breakfast on the table. She smiled up at him as she saw him approaching. He pulled a chair for himself and silently started having his breakfast.

"Hey... Sanky....." Ragini prodded her sulking husband as Sanskar continued his silent treatment. "Is the big boy angry with me?" she asked in a childlike tone, pulling his cheek and he tried his best to mask the smile threatening to slip.

"Saaaannnkyyyy...." she sang in a sing song manner and held his face in her palm. She leaned forward giving a quick peck on his lips. But her darling husband had other plans.

He snaked his hand to the back of her head holding her in place, deepening the kiss and Ragini couldn't help but smile against his hungry maw.

"Happy birthday..." The loud screech woke Sanskar from his sleep. He opened his eyes stifling a yawn and met with a grinning Ragini.

She held a very simple cake with a candle and her eyes twinkled with joy. On closer inspection he noticed that the cake was burnt at the edges and was hardly holding together. He instantly knew that she had baked it for him cause Ragini couldn't bake for the life of her.

"Come on. Make a wish and cut the cake." Ragini said and Sanskar cut through the part which looked edible and both fed eachother.

"So what do you say we do today?" Sanskar asked pulling Ragini to himself and snaking his hands through her waist.

Ragini's smike faltered and she looked apologetically at him. "I'm really sorry Sanky. But there had been a call from the office about some mishap at the company. I really need to sort that out." She answered, her hands drawing circles on his chest. She could see the disappointment seeping through Sanskar's features which he tried his best to hide.

"But I wanted to spend the whole day with you" he whispered looking down.

"I know. I wouldn't want anything else either. But..." She trailed off. Ragini cupped his face and their eyes held eachother. "Anyways, I have asked Ayu to give you company till I get back. He'll be here any minute. So now go get ready" she continued pushing him to the bathroom while Sanskar sulked.

As they reached the bathroom door Ragini snaked her hands through his neck and brought his head down, connecting their lips. "I promise I will make it up to you" she said as she pulled away catching her breath.

"I'm holding you to that." Sanskar whispered with a mischievous glint pulling her closer.

"Well, I think Ragini isn't back yet." Sanskar said to himself as he searched for the switches to turn on the lights. Both he and Ayan had gone out as Ayan insisted on not spending the day inside the house.

"Surprise!!" The whole house erupted as the lights turned on and to say Sanskar was stupefied would be putting it lightly. He had his hands clutching his heart.

He visibly relaxed after a moment as everyone started singing the birthday song for him. Everyone he held dear were present there. Ragini walked upto him and wrapped her arms around him.

"I'm sorry for lying to you earlier. I really didn't want to. But then we had to arrange all this." She said sounding apologetic.

"Are you kidding me? This is the best surprise ever. Thankyou." He grinned cupping her face and planted a kiss on her cheek.

"Keep your PDA for some other time, remember there are kids in here." Shanaya shouted from where she was standing, a hand covering her son, Ayansh's eyes and the rest bursted out laughing while the couple turned a bright shade of red.

The party wrapped up and it was just the two of them left. Ragini was doing the dishes when two firm hands came around her waist and kisses were peppered along her shoulder. Goosebumps flared up on her body.

"Thank you. This has been the best birthday ever."

"You are yet to get your present. Just wait till that." She said turning around in his arms.

"I don't think anything can top what you had done so far."

"You'll see." With that she continued with her chores while Sanskar helped tidying the place.

"So... Should I open it now?" Sanskar asked as he held the rectangular box neatly wrapped.

"Of course you dumbo." Ragini giggled but her posture gave away her nervousness and excitement.

Sanskar opened the box and his breath hitched as he took in the contents of the box. He pulled out the device which clearly showed the positive sign on it's digital screen and his eyes moistened on their own accord.

His gaze met Ragini's asking for a silent confirmation and she nodded her head biting her lips. He then took out the report that confirmed the news and felt it hard to form words to express himself.

"I'm gonna be a dad!" He finally managed to utter as a tear tripped down his eye.

"Sanskar put me down." She almost shrieked when he twirled her around in excitement and he gently let her feet touch the ground. His hand then travelled towards her now flat belly and rested there and their foreheads joined taking in the moment.

"How far along?" He asked.

"Three weeks." She said pecking his lips and he engulfed her in his protective embrace.
