Part 2
To give more information about my wretched existence... my father was a human, and he met my mother through the local church, odd that my mother, a vampire, was religious at all but I found it funny when I learned this. They met when my dad was 23 and my mother at the time was 22, apparently my mother had been trying to talk with him for a few days when my father was busy, after a few weeks of talking they started dating. Then after a year it bloomed into true love. They spent the next 20 years together... my mother was pregnant with me and my parents were incredibly happy. The church held a celebration for the new family... this unfortunately would not last. A year later he fell ill with a disease. Then after 3 months it had taken his life. My mother was consumed by despair. Horrible noises the following week were reported to be heard within the church. Screaming... tearing sounds, scratching. Later the Hunter's association got involved and went into the church to find nothing but mangled corpses of previous church folk and priests. All butchered and drained of blood. My parents home was searched and also showed bloodstains, the hunters learned the truth and tracked down my mother. She had gone feral, slaughtering everything and keeping me alive with the blood of those she killed. She cried though... saying to the hunters... "please... take him... I... I'm a monster... tell him not of what I did" as a hunter killed her. Edward... was the hunter that killed her. A lifelong family friend who had to pull the trigger on a mother who had lost her husband. Winthrop took care of me, teaching my what being a vampire meant and the issues too... he also knew due to my consumption of blood at a young age I was destined to suffer the same fate. He spent the next 20 years of my life devoting himself to finding a cure. My mother and father were buried beside each other. A sign of their everlasting love even in death. I carry my fathers Necklace with its silver cross, and my mothers ring adorned with a red gem. I keep them with me as they were entrusted to be mine after they passed. Now, I've been given blood from a succubus and my life has been cured of the biggest problem to exist in it. She has done so much for me in such little time and all I did was respond to her request to handle a job. Now I have love and a chance at life. As I slumber next to Cristen, I feel the warmth of her skin, the soft and plump body of hers. She has no reason to love me... but I'm happy she does love me. She turns over and wraps her arm around me. "Hmhm... so... how long has Edward watched over you?" She asks. "He's watched over me for years... before I turned 1 year old he was like a uncle to me, he loved my parents like family, even spent holidays with them, he's a good man... but... ever since he had to kill my mother and save her from hurting anyone else... there's been a void in his heart... he still mourns them..." I said. Cristen moves closer to me and throws her leg over mine. "He knew your mother and father well, he did what he needed to do, for them and for you" she said. "Oh and Edward said we need to stop by the Hunter's Church to get your weapon registration and a firearm... whatever that means" she adds. Later as the sun rises we both head to the town. I of course go to grab my umbrella as we exit the carriage. "Actually, you won't need that" Cristen said. "What do you mean?" I ask. "You drank my blood, the blood of a pure succubus, that should've helped you quite a lot, you should have immunity to the sunlight now" She said. I hesitantly stepped out into the sunlight and... nothing, my skin wasn't cracking, my flesh didn't burn. The light felt pretty nice actually. "The sun feels great actually, I didn't think I'd ever feel it like this" I said. Cristen just stood there and smiled. "Let's get to the church now shall we, then maybe later we'll go to a nice little restaurant nearby" Cristen said. We both walk into the church and Edward is waiting for us. "Ah you both are here" Edward then noticed the bandages on Cristen's neck. "Sniff... you know I can smell even the smallest of wounds right? What happened?" He asks. "I found a permanent solution for his blood problem" Cristen said. Oh boy... I was hopping she wouldn't mention that. Edward looks at us for a second before smiling. "So then you gave him your blood, a figure since you're a succubus it'll be a lot more potent for him" Edward smiled. "Yup! I also found love in him, he's a very kind and gentle man" she smiles. Then a figure cloaked in crow feathers walks into the building. She's wearing a large hat, walking with a large can and what seems to be a curved blade hanging on her back. "Ah! Gertilde, this is the new hunter, Gavan, this is Gertilde, she's a hunter who's been around for quite some time now" Edward said. She extend her hand but it's dark, covered in small hairs and she only has three fingers. I freeze up in a slight shock. "What's wrong... never seen an avian?" She tilts her head up to reveal a crows beak for a mouth, sharp teeth and a long grin. "Can't say a blame you, we seldom venture out into public, we like to keep to ourselves sometimes, though I'm a bit more social than most others" She then grabs my hand and gets close to my face. "You have your mother's eyes, and your father's face, and you seem to have found a way to fight of the sunlight, you consumed blood but what kind of blood it was isn't my business, I come bearing a gift for you young man" she lets go of my hand and hands me a flintlock that's pitch black with silver lining, blood red gem on the barrel. "Black Rose, it's specifically made for a vampire like you, it channels magic, BUT it also can channel blood, it'll take a while to get used to it" Gertilde said. "By the way, Gertilde... that's not any ordinary cane is it?" Cristen asked. "Hmhm... quite observant... Urum, is the name of my weapon, it's a scythe but can be broke down into two parts, Edward has seen it a few times long ago" Gertilde said. "Oh by the way, I have a letter for you... addressed by... well... the only initial on here is an L, whatever that may mean" Edward handed me the letter. "Not sure who this could be from but I can look into it later" I said. "Well, you lot have fun, and be safe" Gertilde said. "Hey wait" I said. "Hmm?" She turns to look at me. "Thank you" I said. "Don't mention it deary, just helping out" She said. She leaves and Edward leaves afterwards. "Hey, how about we go eat at the restaurant down the street" Cristen said. So we go and eat... later afterwards we returned to her house. "By the way did you read that letter?" She asks. "Now that you mention it" I then take out the letter and it reads... "I know you don't know me but we have a long history, lifetimes even, there's a old church up by the old village just a few hours out, I want you to meet me there whenever you are ready, time won't matter, I'll simply know when your there" It reads. I look at Cristen puzzled and confused. "Well, clearly the knew Edward to deliver the letter to him, so I guess I'll give it a gander" I said. Night falls and we set out to the old church down in the old abandoned village. We arrive and the carriage driver speaks to us. "I don't think you'll find anyone here, the place has been abandoned for nearly 80 years now... and most know why... I'm leaving, I'll return in the morning to get you both" he then left. We walk around the eerie and quiet village. She holds my hand as we hear a flock of birds fly over head. That's when we see it... a big run down church, twice the size of the hunters church. "This must be the place... but why request to meet in such a secluded area" I said. Suddenly we hear a creek but see nothing. "Gavan... l-look!" Cristen panicked. I turn around and a tall motionless figure stands at the church pew and a giant statue of a strange creature behind it. We stay still for a moment until we realized they must just be statues. As I turned around I hear her scream! She's picked up by a demon and held by her arms and legs. "I'm glad you came... now we can talk... this is an Ancient Demon, it'll hold onto the girl for the time being" Said the figure. I dash forward only for the cloaked figured to bat me back into the church seats. CRASH! The seats break and I stand up. "She's not gonna be harmed... so just listen" Said the figured. BITE! The beast bites into her hips and draws blood. "GAVAN!" She screams. In the blink of an eye I have her back in my arms... "You fool! You weren't meant to hurt her!" Yells the figured. "The deal is off, to have such a fat juicy morsel in my hands... I will devour all three of you instead!" Yelled the demon. I hold Cristen in my arms... she has deep bite marks in her waist and is bleeding heavily. "Cristen!" My hair on my arms stand up. My claws grow out and I feel my mind go blank. My eyes turn red! "YOU ANIMAL!" I yell. Suddenly the figure is throw across the room and the demon looms over me and Cristen. My breathing is heavy and erratic. I'm filled with the drive to kill now. I jump at the demon and start clawing at it! Slashing and cutting at its body. "You little cockroach! What are you!?" It yells. I take out my sword cane and skewer its head. It crashes through the church walls and we land out in the street. "What... are you!" It yells. I rush at it and pull the sword from its throat and I start ripping its throat open. Pulling at tendons and major muscles. The blood pours out its throat as its large lifeless body lies there. I walk back into the church and see Cristen's wounds healed. "Gavan! Your back" she smiles. I lunged at the figure and pinned them to the wall. "You almost killed her!" I yell. "No! Gavan wait!" Cristen yells. The figure suddenly undoes their cloak and it falls off. A woman with the same bust, hips and legs off Cristen is revealed, she's wearing typical succubus like clothing, she has purple eyes and long white hair. "I'm sorry she almost died, but what happened was not what I wanted to have happen... I'm willing to explain though" Said the figure. As time passes I calm down and tend to Cristen. She's fully healed. "I managed to heal her wounds... that demon was just supposed to scare you... not try to eat her, my name is Lizzy, and I'm sorry for using a demon to get your attention" she said. "That doesn't explain why you wanted my attention" I said. "You were my lover in a previous life... and I finally found you again... but I was too afraid to approach you alone... but what I've done is inexcusable... I'll do whatever I can to make amends" Lizzy said. I then had a thought. "Get on your knees real quick" I said. So she did. "Open your mouth" I told her. She opens her mouth. "Hmmmm... stick out your tongue" I said. She sticks her tongue out and lets out a whimper. "Forgive me... master" She said. This kinda weirded me out so I had her stand back up. "Is there any reason you wanted me to do that?" She asked. "Probably some kinda weird fantasy went through his head" Cristen said as she place her hands on my shoulders. "Weren't ya" she said. "Let's just continue to question her, what's your real reason for trying to find me anyway?" I asked. "To reunite with you" Lizzy said. "Look, I don't know you, and you have me mistaken for someone else, so go back to wherever you came from and don't bother me again" I said. These words though seemed to really upset her as she begins to cry and hang her head. "I see... it seems in this life I'm nothing to you... I understand... I thought giving Edward the letter would help... but it made things worse" She said. I stop and turn to face her. "You know Edward or something?" I asked. "I've know him since he was young... I'm over a few thousand years old at this point so I've seen many come and go... but you always return somehow and some way" she said. "Even he has witnessed this" she points to another statue. A demon of average height, a dragon like head and no features to his body like muscle or nerves. "He?" I asked. CRACK! "You know" crack! "You should really learn to introduce me first instead of almost immediately making a mess of things" Crumble... the stone falls off and a pitch black and featureless being walks toward us. "I'm Sihlus, your other half from another time..." he brushes his shoulders off. "Damn stone, it's uncomfortable and stiff" he complained. He walks towards Cristen and I instinctively step in front of her. "I'm not gonna hurt her, just wanna see her neck" he said. He examines the marks and looks at me. "A vampire in this life huh... well you always gave me goth vibes to be honest, it's fitting honestly" he said. "What's your name?" I ask. His eyes are just solid red with no pupils or anything.. just a little black dot. He smiles. "I'm Sihlus... your... demonic counterpart per-say" Sihlus said. "I would've intervened earlier but I wanted to observe" He adds. "You wanted to observe?" I said. "So you would've watched my love and the person who saved my life be eaten?!" I said. "..." he just glares at me. His eyes are piercing and I feel like they see straight through me. "I'm just here to tell you that what Lizzy is saying is true... I'll be around if needed but for now I'll lurk in the shadows and await the call for help..." He bows and fades into the darkness. The night is cold so the girls cuddle up against me. Were under a blanket and we have some cloth and fabric placed on the ground with some pillows we found place under our heads. "Gavan... why don't you take her blood too... if mine helped you then hers might also help" Cristen said. "I'm not hungry at the moment, that's why I haven't had her blood yet... but now that you mention it I'm am a little thirsty" I said. Cristen gets close to my ear and whispers. "If she's truly indebted to you... then take her blood... she may be asleep but she wouldn't mind" Cristen sneered. I lean over Lizzy as she sleeps. I sniff her neck and kicks it gentle. "Uh... m-master~" she mumbles. I hesitate for a moment... when I bite down into her neck. Her eyes shoot open as she clutches the covers and pillows. "Hah... m-master! What's the meaning of this?" She panicked. As I gulp down her blood and slowly caress her and hold her. "Master... does... does my blood please you?" She asks. I removed my fangs from her neck as the blood trail from her neck and my lips drips. My mouth bloody and wet was filled with a wonderful taste like Cristen's blood. "Your blood was delicious... like Cristen's blood it tasted beautiful" I said. She puts her hand on her neck to cover the holes. Suddenly we hear knocking at the church door. I get up and grab my sword cane. As I open the door, it's Gertilde holding the head of some pale, toothy creature. "You lot make an awful lot of noise for this old bird to hear" Gertilde says. "Gertilde how'd you find us here?" I asked. "I followed your carriage, I didn't trust this whole thing one bit so I followed you, but it seems everything turned out alright" She said. Hours earlier. Gertilde could be seen following from above, as she is a bird creature she can fly... she's a species called "Avenisoclid" there a Nocturnal species that seldom venture out during they day, they have a human body, but bird like legs with two spurs, talons, their arms are human like but usually lightly covered in feathers, their backs sport two very large wings usually thickly covered in feathers, their average age ranges anywhere from 70 to 150 years old. Their diet consists of most things humans would eat but they can also scavenge dead and rotting carcasses, their excellent hunters at night and can reach flight speeds of up to 60 miles per hour. Back to the present time now. "So... why exactly are you holding a large severed head... and... what is it?" I asked. She comes in and that's when I notice it, she's bloody and her beak is cracked. She trips and falls, her leg is also slightly crooked, might be broken in fact. "Gertilde!" I yell. I help her up and get her to a comfy spot, the girls noticed and moved aside so that I could sit Gertilde down on something soft. The head sits by the door where she dropped it and she scoffs. "Tch... damn Great one Beasts... always a pain in the ass... big lumbering 11 foot tall beasts covered in fur... the result of a feral werewolf who drank blood from a dead great one. Thought I had it handle but it grabbed my legs and slammed me into a tree. Then it broke my leg but I still had wings and used em to get off the ground, dive in and cleave its head off... but I won't lie... thing got me good" She said. "We need to fix your leg, but it's gonna hurt like hell, I'll have to hold it in place and secure something to the side of it" I said. "No need, allow me" Lizzy said. She kneels down and as I hold Gertilde's leg in place. She does some kind of hand gesture as her palm glows. Gertilde winces in pain when she starts to move her leg around. "Ah, thank you deary, that's much better, think you can fix my beak too?" Gertilde asked. "Sure thing, but this may hurt a bit more as it's a pretty deep looking crack" Lizzy said. So Lizzy heals up Gertilde's beak and she lets out a loud squak. Later we all get comfy again as Gertilde perches up on the rafters to wait till sunrise with us. As me and the girls sleep... Gertilde still watches over us and keeps close eye on the severed head. She may be a skilled hunter but what she encountered was unlike anything she's ever killed. I feel both the girls in my arms were their hands on my body. Their warmth against m cold skin. Despite being a vampire I feel alive because of the warmth they both give off. Though that creatures head still worries me... a werewolf that drank from the corpse of a dead great one... but I didn't quite understand what a great one was... so I dismiss this and fall asleep. Morning comes and the carriage returns. We all get in the carriage. "Hey Gertilde, I have a question... what's a great one?" I asked. "Hmm... it's a cosmic being, from the deepest of the outer reaches of the world... they are older than time itself... they have physical bodies... then the bodies that cannot be killed, some say they reside in a Eldritch and unknown realm... queer creatures of indescribable horror" She said. Then she pulled out a book titled "Eldritch Tome of the other world" and she flipped through some pages. "Here we are... this excerpt documents something called a Slagruth... or Sluhthak... grotesque creatures with multiple sets of eyes, limbs like a deep sea creature, blackish green slimy flesh, mouths filled with razors and a large body" She said. She then closed the book and stored it away. I wasn't really sure what to say... other than clearly there were things in this world beyond comprehension... beyond anyone's comprehension. Later as we return to the town we see a few hunters in front of the church. Quite a few actually... so we knew something was up. The four of us went inside and discovered the whole place was defiled, occult symbols drawn on the walls, blood, a few bodies... that's when I saw it. A single corpse no bigger than a newborn... and Edward was standing by it reading the Bible. "Edward!" I yell. He then looks over and stands up. "Gavan? I'm truly sorry you had to see this... horrific display" he said. "Edward what happened here?" Gertilde asks. "Zealots must have stormed the place in the dead of night... they butchered people under the cover of darkness and painted fowl profane symbols with their blood..." Edward grits his teeth. "The even used the blood of a child..." Edward was furious... never have I seen this in him before... not until now.
