Long ago, in the ancient kingdom of Fiore, there was a small town known as Magnolia. This tiny town, located in the countryside, received its name from the abundance of magnolia flowers that grew in the area. Situated in the heart of the bustling town square stood a four-story tall building that people often stopped to stare at in awe, but never entered. From a bird's eye view the building appeared like every other grey stone building with a wooden roof, nothing special about it. However, standing in front of the large, solid oak doors gave the building a much more magical appearance, especially with the mysterious emblem marked above the doors.

This is the story of a young girl named Lucy Heartfilia. A mysterious fire broke out in her family's mansion several days past, leaving both her mother and father dead. With Lucy being the only survivor, she had no other family or friends to turn to. As she stood there, looking up at the Fairy Tail Orphanage, she wondered if it would ever be possible for her to start over and find a new family. With barely any hope left in her small, delicate heart she managed to push open the large doors, opening the gates to her future. Walking into the large entrance hall, the first thing Lucy noticed was two boys who seemed to be arguing over nothing, one with salmon pink hair and the other midnight blue. Within a few minutes, the two boys were separated by a girl with bright scarlet hair, and they quickly began to apologize for their behaviour.

There were many children in Fairy Tail who seemed to get along fairly well with one another. However, Lucy could not help but feel as though she would not fit in with the rest of them... She came from a wealthy family and a large home, whereas all the orphans in Fairy Tail seemed to come from small, poor families, and some no families at all. Little Lucy was about to turn around and walk out the solid oak doors when a gentle hand reached out for hers.

When Lucy turned around to meet the face that belonged to the dainty hand, she was greeted by a petite lady with long, pale blonde hair, and she seemed to shimmer like a goddess. "Aren't you going to come in and meet everyone?" asked the lady, to which Lucy replied: "Everyone seems busy and I don't want to interrupt. I think I'll just leave and find another place to stay, making an adventure for myself as I go." The lady still had not let go of Lucy's hand as she slowly started to walk with Lucy further into the orphanage.

"My name in Mavis, Mavis Vermillion, and I am the founder of Fairy Tail Orphanage. Let me just say that you remind me a lot of myself, in quite a few ways. I can tell just by looking at you that you will fit right in with everyone else. And if you're looking for an adventure this is the best place to start; every day is an adventure in Fairy Tail. The fun and love never cease to exist; some of the children here say that the orphanage is like an eternal adventure." Lucy followed Mavis to be introduced to everyone, and it was at that moment in which she realized Fairy Tail was going to be her new family, and she loved them already.

As Lucy walked beside Mavis she could not help but feel that there was something different and special about The founder of Fairy Tail, and little did she know that Mavis felt the same way about her. In reality, Mavis was a true goddess who descended from the heavens to help guide the small, innocent, and faint-hearted children into the right path that would lead them to a promising future.

After meeting Lucy, Mavis used her magic to create a constellation in the sky, naming it 'Eternal Adventure.' This constellation serves as a reminder to all the orphans in Fairy Tail to keep living their eternal adventure; to never give up and know that they are never alone, for Mavis will always be there to guide them. Should they ever become lost and unable to find their way back to the orphanage, all they have to do is follow the tail of the 'Eternal Adventure' constellation and it will guide them back home; back to Fairy Tail.
