Sweet Hazel Eyes

I remember my first glimpse of you across a crowded room

That long discussion that we had which made my poor heart swoon,

But this one thing I'll not forget, though you it might surprize!

That shining look of love I saw, within your hazel eyes.

It wasn't long my lovely one, I gave you that gold ring,

On that, oh so auspicious day, you made my wee heart sing,

But nothing can compare for me, What e're you may surmise,

With that sweet look of love and joy, in your sweet hazel eyes.

It hasn't been a cakewalk life,, We've had our trial or two,

As our three children came along, then left us, as they do.

We've had our ups and downs my dear, as unforeseens arise,

But I've always been so reassured by your loving hazel eyes.

It's nearly forty three years now since when we met by fate,

And twelve grandchildren later spread across just these two states,

They all bring us a wondrous joy, you well may advertize,

But Nothing beats that love glint, in your shining hazel eyes.
