Proud I am Me (Bill Temple)
Proud I am Me
You aren't what I imagined you would be
Your voice doesn't match your face
That's strange, because when I look in the mirror
Everything seems to be in place
Never judge a book by its cover
Because beauty is only skin deep
The person that we Really are
Is what is exposed beneath
Some people are considered wallflowers
Some simply blend into the crowd
But often it's their inner beauty
That comes to the forefront, tall and proud
We've become a society built on Beauty
Those that do and those who do not
But in the long and short of it
We realize it doesn't matter a lot
I look upon the person that I am
A handsome movie star I will never be
But I am proud of the person I have become
I am proud that I am me
