i loved you,

i think i know why,

maybe it was

the way you made me feel

at two in the morning, when all i

would think about was your scarred

skin on mine, and the sound of our

ragged breaths on repeat,

maybe it was the way your hands

gripping my hips,

made me feel safe, or

the way your fingertips tracing

the outline of my lips,

made me feel emotions i didn't know

i could ever feel again,

or the way those blue eyes,

so precious yet sinful,

made all the broken pieces of my

baby pink heart,

fit in a kaleidoscope of bright hues,

maybe it was the way your blonde

hair tickled my neck, whenever you

put your head on my chest, or

the way you held me whenever the

pain threatened to drown me in its

cold, dry fingers,

you were there for it all,

with a smile on your gorgeous face,

but now you're gone and

the memories cannot seem to fade

maybe its better this way
