"Kiss Under the Pine Tree"

I found my sneakers screeching through the cracked halls of the decrepit building.

My body flung out the front door like a flash of summer's eve lightning.

The thought still played like a broken record in my mind:

After School – Under the Pine Tree.

Clear as day; I saw your outline through the clearing between the scruffy pines.

I went blank.

Only next does my memory serve me standing in front of you.

My stomach bubbling like a blast of carbonation

Your eyes – Deep.

Deep like the light of a thousand sunsets.

My eyes slowly closed as my ears trained themselves to my breaths reverberation and my hearts echo.

Then, your lips met mine

A flush of the seasons dashed through my body as every hair stood on end screaming towards the heavens.

A distant thunder filled my ear

My eyes opened as I saw you: Those eyes : That smile

Your hands – Still clutching mine.

My memory serves me no more now.

But with every thundering whip crack that mocks outside my window

I wish to remember - The innocent days

And the kiss under the pine tree.
