at my age now

i have pretty much done it all

so there is not much i want to do

but if i had one wish

i think it would be for peace

before this planet of ours is through

it is not for me

that i wish this for

because by that time i will be long gone

and my kids are fine

so i don't worry there

but what about those yet to come along

what are we leaving

a world torn apart

we made the mess, they face the aftermath

maybe we should just

do something now, right this minute

set the world on a new path

its time for us to do our very best

or for those coming, there will be nothing left
