Chapter 4

He rejected all the invitations to go out with his friends for the past weeks. And his friends even tried to lure him out by hanging out at the library. So he asked for a longer vacation from nana. And he felt extremely bad.

Like he ditched Nana every single time, and he was the only helper she had. But she never complained once, always just a silent comforting presence.

And Kongpob was grateful for her so much. Because she didn't say a single thing when Kongpob would go over while not working and sit and talk. Talk about anything and everything. He felt more anchored to life, talking to someone.

Who wouldn't bring hell upon himself?

But Nathan was becoming restless as the days passed. So worried for Kongpob because he wasn't being himself. He was becoming like the little shell he found in the beginning.

And he needed Kongpob to open up or go to someone if not him. He would be Kongpob's support and courage.

Nathan did everything, he would buy Kongpob candy and coffee. Meals when Kongpob's lips seemed extremely pale and dry. Would even give him some snacks. Or force him to eat because Kongpob would keep five feet distance and reject everything from him.

And it hurt him, but he knew there was a reason. And he'll be there for Kongpob, no matter how long it takes Kongpob to come around again. To be himself again.

So he decided to go to the library with some muffins and cake. He liked nana too, they bonded somewhat while Nathan tried wooing Kongpob. And it didn't work, Kongpob didn't even look his way. Didn't accept anything given, unless it was by force.

Or Nana compelled to do so, saying he was being rude. And Nathan didn't want to be treated as an obligation, he deserved better, But it was Kongpob. And Nathan didn't mind being the last choice, as long as he WAS a choice.

He just wanted Kongpob to be okay and be in his life. And as much as he wanted to hold, kiss, and wake up with Kongpob in the morning, he would suck it up if Kongpob didn't want it. He wouldn't force someone to like him back.

But he was confused, they were okay. Kongpob even responded positively to his approaches and he thought he was getting all the right signals. So he let his heart fall. And now...it was broken.

He walked into the air-conditioned building, letting out a sigh. He hated the scorching sun, which almost burned off his skin.

He walked over with a bright smile, lifting the container of muffins in the air.

"Are they blueberry?" Marie asked with sparkles in her eyes.

"Nana you are not allowed to eat sweets," Kongpob mumbled from behind.

"Don't listen to him. He is a party-pooper," Marie grabbed a big blueberry muffin, thanking Nathan and taking a huge bite before Kongpob could take it away.

"Nana," Kongpob groaned at the huge bites she was taking. "Here have some water."

Kongpob pushed a water bottle to Marie, who smiled with muffin crumbs all between her teeth. While Kongpob just stared at her with a disbelieving look.

Nathan chuckled at their interaction and handed Kongpob a muffin with some coffee. Kongpob stared strictly at the floor, twiddling with his fingers. And didn't look up as he heard a sigh.

"Give it to me," Marie smiled, taking another sip.

"No," Kongpob grabbed the muffin and took a small bite, frowning at Marie. Nathan smiled, sharing a look with Marie, mouthing a small thank you. While she pointed to another muffin.

"No, nana. P'Nathan stuff spoiling her," he grumbled, looking around for some water.

"Here," Nathan pushed the coffee closer to Kongpob with a sweet smile. "Have it before the ice melts."

Kongpob looked at Nathan who had the purest smile on his face. He genuinely cared for Kongpob and Kongpob wanted to bash his head into a wall. He always wanted someone, but the moment someone started paying him any attention, this happens.

He nodded softly, taking a small sip from the straw. "Thank you."

Nathan nodded, before sitting down and making small talks with Marie and helping her around. Because Kongpob was still on leave and Marie forbade him to work. But was perfectly fine accepting help from Nathan.

Kongpob started back at work and was welcomed with Nathan in an identical apron. With his nametag on the left side. He stared at Nathan scolding Marie for climbing up the ladder when he was there to help, while Marie just had a small smile on her face.

"Oh, Kongpob, you're here. Now I have two handsome helpers, maybe more people will come."

Nathan chuckled at Marie's antics, "sure nana."

Kongpob kept staring, zoning out. He couldn't quit this job. There wouldn't be another employer who was as flexible and kind as Marie. He didn't even feel like he was working here, it just felt like a hangout.

And Nathan was doing everything he could to be around Kongpob during classes, activities, hanging out with friends, and now EVEN getting a job at the library.

Kongpob was mad at Nathan, he was touched. TO see someone doing SO much for him. And he knew Nathan was tired, he was a head hazer, had classes, volunteered, had an internship, and now was working for Kongpob's sake.

He didn't even know how Nathan had so much time to pamper him. And Kongpob was melting more each day. Nathan would always bring him a muffin every morning like he knew Kongpob didn't eat breakfast.

Nathan would always give the pickles to Kongpob during lunch, or even order something with extra pickles if Kongpob didn't have time for food. And sometimes even forcefully feed him.

And he didn't feel uncomfortable with Nathan, he didn't think he was interfering either. He just felt taken care of, like someone was there always.

And Nathan's sweetness was making it harder for Kongpob to push away. He thought Nathan would get mad and just leave, but no. Nathan just became sweeter, doing everything anyone would want, without being asked.

Never caring about himself, just Kongpob, Kongpob, Kongpob. And sometimes Kongpob was surprised with Nathan's actions, he would randomly put a bouquet of flowers by his door with sweet notes. And sometimes hang breakfast on the door when he couldn't meet Kongpob.

And he was slowly getting wrapped up in Nathan's sweetness, but never did he forget the threat that hung over his head. So he decided to break Nathan's heart once more, ignoring his presence to the max.

And it was like he was insulting Nathan and his kindness with every cold shoulder and blank stare. And it HURT Kongpob like crazy. He hated hurting people, even the ones who do him wrong.

So hurting a person, walking through hell for him, ripped his heart out. But he had to.

And he was distancing himself from everyone, even Nana at some point. Because he felt he'd break if he was shown any more affection. And that's all Nathan did. Pour out all his love, shower him with it.

So receiving another note, not from Nathan threw his mind into a whirlpool. Nathan would never just leave notes around without gifts or food.

He placed his bag on the desk and opened up the note, looking around. He saw Nathan and Marie chatting up on the other side, and of course, Marie had a blueberry muffin in her hand.

You're playing with lives...be careful.

Kongpob tilted his head, confused. He didn't know what that meant. He was doing everything asked of him. Pushing away any happiness he had, or the abundant happiness he would have had in the future.

He shoved the note inside his apron pocket with shaky hands, seeing Nathan approach, and smiled. Big mistake because he was supposed to ignore it. Especially after another note.

Arthit would only give him a second note when Kongpob would be in danger, and he didn't want to take any risks.

Nathan frowned, looking at Kongpob's distressed face. And frowned deeper when he was smiled at. Yeah, something wasn't right.

"Is everything okay? You're sweating."

Kongpob immediately wiped his forehead with the sleeves of his long, light green sweatshirt.

"Y-yeah. I'm fine."

Nathan brought his palm and touched Kongpob's forehead, "Your temperature is normal."

"Y-yes. Thank you. I'm fine. Just got a little lightheaded," Kongpob mumbled, looking down.

Nathan hummed and stepped back, both standing in utter silence. And you could cut the tension between them with a knife. Kongpob kept staring at the floor, trying his best to rapidly blink back his tears. While Nathan stood there, with his black loose t-shirt and black jeans. His hands dropped to either side.

Staring at Kongpob, trying to find his eyes. But being avoided like the plague. HE sighed, slumping his shoulders. And Kongpob felt like this was it.

Nathan was giving up. And his hard work paid off. He and...all the other lives might be spared. It was only Nathan that kept trying to get Kongpob back to the group.

Everyone else had already given up, they shared polite smiles. But Kongpob was alone again. And this was it. He would be alone...maybe forever. Because Arthit wouldn't let anyone near him.

And he rode his bicycle back home alone. Nathan didn't offer to take him like all the other days. Didn't bug, pester, or force him to go home with him. He just took his bag and hugged Marie goodnight, and that he's taking a day off.

And Kongpob watched, turning away when Nathan gave him a small smile. He took a shaky breath when Marie walked over and embraced him in her warmth.

"What's wrong Kongpob?" Marie whispered, caressing his hair with her hand and patting his back with the other.

Kongpob took a deep breath, inhaling the sweet essence of his nana. She smelled like sweet roses on a sunny day. And he let out a few tears. Breaking in sobs soon in her arms. And Marie didn't force Kongpob to speak.

Just kept embracing him in her warmth. Hushing him, while rocking them both. And he didn't know how long he was held, but he felt Marie squeeze him and part, smiling at him.

She touched his red, wet cheek and dabbed away the tears. "It will be okay. I have lived long enough to know...that everything will be okay."

She leaned over and kissed his forehead, still caressing his hair. "You will be okay, my dear boy."

Kongpob gave her a teary smile, his lips quivering. "Thank you nana."

Marie hummed, still dabbing her thumb across his cheeks. She reached behind her and grabbed a blueberry muffin, "eat."

Kongpob shook his head but took it, seeing the glare being thrown his way.

"Good boy," Marie smiled softly, caressing his cheeks while he puffed them out and chewed. Marie helped him all the while he ate, poking his cheeks here and there.

Making Kongpob giggle and struggle in her arms. He leaned against her shoulder, still chewing. Closing his eyes in content, letting himself have this moment.

His moment was broken as he shot his eyes open, hearing his phone blare on the desk. He let go of Marie and walked over, swallowing the last bite.

"Hello?"

Kongpob's eyes widened, hearing Adam's worried voice.

"I have to go, nana. N-Nathan is in the hospital. Got into an accident." Kongpob picked up his bag and kissed Marie on the cheek.

"Be careful," Marie yelled out, shaking her head. Doing the sign of the cross, as she mumbled a prayer under her breath.

Kongpob took the bus to the said hospital, bouncing his leg the entire ride. Almost peeling all the skin around his nails as he bit into them.

He ran off the bus and into the reception. He thanked the woman behind the desk with thick black glasses. And ran to the elevator. Not caring how frantic or stupid he looked.

He bit his lips, tapping his foot nervously waiting for his floor. He moved to the corner, maneuvering his way inside the packed corner.

He pushed people out of the way, murmuring sorries, and ran off to room 117. He sighed in relief, seeing Nathan laying on the bed with a small bandage around his forehead.

"What happened?" Kongpob asked, rushing in.

Nathan looked at him in surprise. Wincing as he turned a little to the side to face Kongpob more comfortably.

"Don't move," Kongpob whispered, coming around.

Nathan grabbed his hand and leaned down, kissing his palm. "I'm okay."

Kongpob felt his lips tremble and the hot tears waiting to gush out. "What happened?"

"I'm not sure. I couldn't hit the brakes as I was turning the corner. Good thing it wasn't slippery or too fast." Nathan smiled, grabbing his arm a little.

Kongpob frowned but nodded. "Did someone check it out?"

"They will soon, but it seemed like the breaks were messed with." Nathan sighed, rubbing his forehead gruffly. "I know a little something about cars too."

Kongpob gaped at Nathan, feeling a coldness envelop him. He could feel his head spinning and the gears changing. Playing with lives...

And it all fell in place. Kongpob wasn't confused anymore, as the realization dawned upon him. He took a step back, pulling his hand out of Nathan's hold gruffly.

"I-I'm glad you're safe. I'll get going now..."

Kongpob turned around and ran out. Not waiting for any protests and not feeling safe standing there for another moment longer. And he could feel the world closing in on him. He felt so helpless and guilty. It was because of him, others were getting hurt.

Nathan looked down, smiling and peeking up at the exit which Kongpob just stormed out of a few moments ago.

Kongpob cared. And it gave Nathan another hope to hang onto. And he will. He did give up, but not anymore. Seeing Kongpob rush in with a red face and uneven breathing, was proof that Nathan mattered to Kongpob.

And that thought alone made Nathan heal quicker and he was soon let out. Even though he limped around campus. And it gave all the other people a chance to get onto their head hazer's sweet side.

And all the girls flocked towards him, with sweets, cards, balloons, and very personal attention. But Nathan declined them all. He had eyes for one boy, and only that one boy. And he was willing to wait and do anything to be noticed.

Kongpob didn't spare Nathan a glance and his heart fluttered at the charming smile being thrown his way. It was like Nathan was immune to all the hurtful things Kongpob had and is doing. How can one man have so much patience?

Kongpob was worried because Nathan was out of the hospital fast. And even though nothing was broken, he was advised to rest and take it easy. Which was the complete opposite of what Nathan was doing.

But Kongpob didn't say anything, he couldn't keep giving Nathan mixed signals. So he ignored when Nathan limped around and winced. His eyes kept wandering though.

And he blushed whenever he got caught staring. But he was always welcomed with a warm smile. No teasing or flirting. Nathan kept his distance but his presence was loud.

But there was another presence that was louder. With the notes that he was receiving. On his bed once again. And this time he saw that his belongings were missing.

Kongpob remembered the chills he felt. How he was frozen until he collapsed. His knees buckling.

He gets flashes of memories randomly of him flipping the house over, searching for personal belongings. And everything was kept in place, except for some of his black tee shirt.

Arthit roamed around his house like it was no big deal. No matter the times Kongpob changed the locks, and he didn't feel safe in his house anymore. He felt his palms sweat every time he stepped into his house. Was it even his anymore?

He was so scared to take another step, worried about what he would see. And it was like Arthit enjoyed this little thrilling game.

To see how much longer he can play until Kongpob collapses for good.

It kept getting colder and colder. So he took longer shifts at the library, and even sometimes accompanied Marie home. Saying he wanted to take care of her and that it's too late to go home now.

Did Marie actually believe Kongpob? No. But he got away with it anyway, which he was thankful for.

He had some trouble at the library though. After the accident, Nathan was everywhere Kongpob was. Especially at the library. Always next to Kongpob, almost suffocating him. And he would've loved it if he weren't so afraid.

He always wanted this sort of special treatment but now considering what his life was, he didn't want any attention. He wanted to be left alone in peace, to be alone.

And it was impossible because Nathan's intentions were becoming louder through his actions. He became more flirty, more touchy, and so much kinder and loving.

He wouldn't even let Kongpob do his job at the library, always coming in between and helping. And insisting on walking Kongpob home on late nights. Kongpob denied and denied, but Nathan tagged along anyway. So Kongpob let him.

And Kongpob was worried for Nathan, he was overworking himself. Exhausting himself for Kongpob. Coming early to pick Kongpob up some days, giving him breakfast, going to class, running around, and getting him flowers and notes. He was pushing his own limits.

And it was becoming harder for him to avoid Nathan. Who could? With the sweetness being showered upon you all day.

And it became impossible when Kongpob was pushed into a corner. The same corner he was caged in between before, sending tremors down his spine.

"I like you, Kongpob," Nathan whispered, looking into Kongpob's surprised eyes. He caressed his cheek with the back of his knuckles. "And you know that, don't you?"

Nathan leaned in closer, bringing his one arm against the wall, caging Kongpob. He looked back, making sure no one was near, they were blocked by the shelves anyway.

Nathan bit his lips and looked at Kongpob's. "Haven't I wooed you at least once?"

Kongpob looked up with his big, brown doe eyes. And Nathan hissed, looking away and biting his lips. Clenching his jaws. Kongpob was so tempting and so, so beautiful.

Kongpob looked away, blushing. Nathan pinched his chin and turned his face back. Tilting it upwards.

"Haven't I? A little bit?"

Kongpob kept staring, and he could feel his defenses break. He wanted Nathan's warmth. It was pleasing, to say the least.

Kongpob looked down and slumped his shoulders hearing Nathan sigh. Nathan came closer and kissed Kongpob's forehead.

"Let me court you..."

Kongpob shot up, staring at Nathan with parted lips. And he wanted to speak, he tried to speak. But he couldn't. He couldn't speak past the huge lump that was forming. That was beginning to hurt him.

"Please give me a chance...one. And if I screw it up. My loss," Nathan murmured, dabbing away the silent tears.

Kongpob looked away, wiping his wet cheeks. He didn't even know he was crying. He Leaned against the wall, afraid that his knees would give up.

Nathan stared at Kongpob's side face, smiling softly, still dabbing away some stray tears. He leaned down and placed a gentle kiss on the crook of Kongpob's neck.

It was so soft and gentle, like a feathery touch. But shook Kongpob to the core, so much. That he couldn't stop the violent shudder that took over him. He felt Nathan's lips curve into a smile and blushed, looking away more.

"Just one chance..." Nathan whispered in between small kisses. "I promise to take care of your heart, Kongpob ."

Kongpob closed his eyes, scrunching his eyebrows. It was soft but something didn't feel right. It wasn't HIM. And the differences are obvious. Nathan was a gentle lover. Who was careful enough to not leave a single mark.

And Arthit was aggressive. Violent. And downright, terrifying. With the charming dimpled smile. The crazy glint in his eyes. The lust in his eyes. And the aura was so strong. Strong enough to shut up even the bravest of people. With just one look. With just one blank smile and stare.

But the gentleness didn't appease him. It wasn't Arthit, and that was all the explanation he could give. And he knew he sounded crazy, for not wanting something as gentle as this.

But the heart wants what it wants.

Kongpob stiffened when Nathan kissed his jawline, making his way up slowly. And he pushed away gently, looking down. Placing his hands on Nathan's arm and looking up, asking for him to stop.

"I'm sorry if I upset you. I-I just got carried away..." Nathan grabbed Kongpob's hands and apologized, pressing a firm kiss on his hand.

Kongpob nodded, pulling his hand out of Nathan's embrace, and held himself, looking down and staying silent. And Nathan was at a loss. Kongpob refused to give any answer and now he felt like he made a big mistake.

He stepped back, giving Kongpob some space, and raked his hand through his hair, looking away and groaning under his breath.

"It's late, I'm walking you home," Nathan said, smiling, standing with his hands in his pockets.

Kongpob looked up and shook his head, gulping down small lumps. "I-I can go alone."

"We already made a schedule. I walk you home on your late shifts," Nathan said, turning around, not caring about the soft protests coming from the sweet lips.

"Nathan, not this way. Please, let's turn around or take a bus. It's very late," Kongpob pleaded, looking at the dark alleyway, once more. Shivering at the memories.

"It's fine. We came this way all week and it's the shortest way back home too," Nathan frowned. "What's wrong?"

Kongpob looked away from Nathan, looking back and sideways. Being extra alert. But Nathan was right. They had been coming this way for the past week and it was perfectly fine.

"I just don't like alleyways..." Kongpob said truthfully. He didn't, especially this one.

"Don't worry. I will protect you," Nathan beamed, putting his chin in the air. Kongpob smiled, nodding. Let's hope, he thought.

Kongpob shivered involuntarily, reaching the graffiti-filled walls and buildings. And there were more derogatory words painted more than last night.

And it stunk. He held his nose, scrunching up his face.

"Probably a dead raccoon," Nathan said, putting his index finger on his nose, blocking some of the horrendous smell.

Kongpob wanted to laugh. Dead raccoon. He wished, he prayed. He felt a pit growing inside like something was missing. He opened his bag and checked for his keys and phone.

Everything was there. He rubbed his chest, taking a deep breath. He was overthinking. But he was having a bad feeling. Like an impending danger will happen.

"We are almost halfway there," Nathan remarked, seeing Kongpob's restless face.

He didn't know what worked Kongpob up so much tonight. They were fine yesterday, in fact, Kongpob barely seemed stressed like the previous days.

Kongpob nodded, holding his shaky hands together. They walk in a comfortable silence, the shuffling of their feet being the only thing heard.

"Looks like we are back where we began."

Kongpob snaps his gaze to where the blank voice came from, Nathan following the gesture. Nathan tilts his head, frowning. Looking at the silhouette of a man.

Kongpob froze, seeing the familiar figure in the dark. Arthit wasn't visible but Kongpob could tell Arthit apart from anyone. He could feel the presence.

Nathan looked at Arthit and then at Kongpob. Kongpob wasn't breathing. And Nathan was scared because of how stiff he was.

"Do you know him?"

Kongpob didn't reply and kept staring at Arthit, shuddering. Feeling so small. And the man wasn't even looking.

He puffed out some smoke from the cigar. Still leaning on the wall, with his one leg up and back against the wall. With arms crossed. He brought the cigar back to his lips and blew out the smoke, towards Kongpob and Nathan.

And Kongpob coughed as the smoke wafted towards him in the gentle breeze. He covered his nose in his arms, stepping back a little. He hated the scent of cigarettes, probably one of the top things he hated.

Nathan scowled, turning his face away from the smoke. "Have you no manners?"

Arthit kept leaning, not making a move or replying. He kept staring forward, blankly. And Nathan was getting frustrated and disliked seeing Kongpob so fearful.

"Let's go," Nathan wrapped his arm around Kongpob's waist and pulled him closer to him.

Trying to comfort and hide him away. He looked back at Arthit who still remained in his previous stance and made a face.

He took a deep breath, knowing he should just let it go. It's a dark alleyway. Full of druggies and criminals, he should stay out of it.

Kongpob gasped, taking ragged breaths, and pushing away from Nathan's hold. And he didn't care about the confusion and hurt that flashed through Nathan's eyes.

Nathan gently nudges him forward, forcing him to turn away. "Let's go."

Kongpob took a small step, still staring at Arthit. And Kongpob could see the glimpses of Arthit's face through the moonlight.

The pale chiseled face, looking much darker. The brunette hair styled in messy waves. And he looked so tall, taller than Nathan. His plump lips, puffing out more smoke.

Kongpob turned a little before stopping. Hearing a foot slam onto the ground, crushing the cigar underneath. Nathan and Kongpob both turned their heads unanimously.

Arthit raised his arm towards Kongpob, still looking ahead. Not a word, not a vision... Except for the dark of Arthit's form... Casted by the few yellow lights of the alley. Kong's breathes hitched, as his body slowly limped.

And like a voodoo doll... Kongpob walks to his doom. With no hesitation.

Kongpob stood before him, looking down, and crouching. Trying to stop trembling. And he failed miserably as he shook like a leaf in the wind.

Arthit stared at him blankly. His hands were stuffed in his pockets. While Nathan watched the interaction silently, trying to connect the dots.

Kongpob gulped down lumps, parting his lips to breathe easier. He took shallow, struggled breaths. He got the essence of some expensive cologne and cigarettes and took a step back unconsciously.

Arthit came closer and leaned down, sniffing Kongpob's neck. While Kongpob looked away, holding his breath. Too scared to move a muscle. Feeling Arthit's dark stare on his face. As his neck and chest was deeply inhaled by Arthit. He froze, when Arthit leveled his lip with Kong's ear.

"You reek." Arthit let out a deep growl,

Kongpob stiffened, slapping his hand over his mouth, holding in the sobs.

Nathan stiffened, scared from the dark aura emitted by the strange man. But he raised his chest and took a deep breath. Kongpob was scared and in tears. And he promised to protect Kongpob.

"Get away from him, you bastard," Nathan seethed, stepping closer and pulling Kongpob away, into his arms.

Arthit threw his head back and chuckled. His laughter echoing through the dark alley, sending shudders down both their backs.

"How cute. Protecting your little slut?"

Kongpob struggled in Nathan's arms but broke away, stepping away and closer to Arthit. Almost acting as a wall between the two men.

Arthit smirked at Kongpob's unconscious reactions. Very pleased. He walked a little closer, going behind Kongpob. While Kongpob remained standing frozen.

"Excuse me?" Nathan stared at Arthit, standing in a fighting stance watching the precise movements of the latter.

Arthit leaned closer, aligning his lips to the back of Kongpob's ear. All the while staring Nathan in the eye.

"Whores like you reek...Don't worry. I'll clean you up nice and good."

Kongpob stares forward, gasping soon. Covering his mouth with his hands tight. As he saw Nathan flying to the ground. Hitting the ground face first. And bleeding from the nose, mouth, and cheeks.

He looked back at Arthit, sobbing and shaking. And he saw the blood on Arthit's hand, dripping down. And the bloody knuckle rings.

"Arthit please..." Kongpob cried.

Screaming as Arthit pulled Nathan up by the collar and threw another hard punch. And Nathan knocked into the nearest wall. He held on, trying to balance. He smiled at Kongpob, mouthing he's alright.

"It wasn't his fault. It was mine. ALL MINE," Kongpob screamed, shaking his head.

Tears streaming down as he saw Nathan smile, blood dripping off his face. And Kongpob couldn't imagine the pain.

Arthit looked at Kongpob blankly. And his eyes darkened, seeing Kongpob scream and cry for someone else.

"Your screams are reserved for only me," he hissed out, between clenched jaws.

Arthit closes his eyes in complete fury and punched Nathan again, knocking him onto the floor. Kongpob covers his mouth and closes his eyes, turning his head away from the sounds of bones breaking.

Nathan groaned and clenched his jaws. Refusing to scream and show his agony. He glanced back at Nathan and received a kick right in the ribs. And he let out a soft moan of pain. And grit his teeth when Arthit grabbed a fistful of hair between his fingers and pulled him up.

Arthit dragged Nathan on the floor by his hair and laid him in front of Kongpob. He walked over to Kongpob and yanked his hand down and gripped his jaw. Digging his fingernails in and making Kongpob bleed.

Kongpob looked at him sobbing from fear and pain. Looking at the glint in the dark brown eyes. He looked away, glancing at Nathan on the ground, by his feet. Resisting the urge to help him up.

Arthit tightened his grip, yanking his face back to face him. "You'll watch. And you'll keep watching and see where you went wrong."

Arthit let go of Kongpob's jaw, pushing his face away. Making Kongpob stumble and almost fall. Nathan tried getting up, but he knew his ribs were probably broken and it hurt immensely to breathe.

"This happens when you want to become someone else's whore," Arthit smirks, crouching on his knees. Leaning down to find Nathan's eyes.

"Where's the strength you showed minutes before?" Arthit smirked, picking Nathan's lulling head up. "Can't even look up..."

Kongpob stood still, getting flashes of the brutal punches. And was kicked out of his thoughts with a snap. Kongpob's jaws dropped and he fell to his knees, hearing Arthit break Nathan's legs. Like a twig.

"Get up and fight me," Arthit took Nathan's other leg and played with the hem of Nathan's jeans, running his fingers up Nathan's leg.

Kongpob watched with bated breaths, covering his mouth tight.

Nathan held Arthit's stare and grit his teeth. Blood splashing out of his mouth as he exhaled with so much force. Biting down on the pain.

Arthit smirked, "you're a brave one." And twisted Nathan's foot back, breaking his bones, and tearing his muscles.

"Too bad you won't be able to walk again..." Arthit pouted. And glanced back, looking at Kongpob who had a hazy look in his eyes.

Arthit picked up Nathan's arm and caressed it. Eyes fixed on Kong's. Who started swaying a little.

"I should break every bone for however many times you touched him. Dirtying MY belonging. But I'm generous," he smiled with his dimples. Caressing Nathan's face. Pressing a little harder into the open, bleeding wounds.

Nathan kept staring back, blinking. Knowing he was going to pass out and fail out on his promise. Arthit kept smiling sweetly, although it never reached his eyes. And twisted his arm, snapping another few bones.

And Kongpob fell to the floor, hitting the ground. Arthit heard and smirked. He looked over, to find Kongpob fainted on the ground. Then looked back at Nathan

"The show's over I guess." Arthit smirked.

Arthit put his hand into his pocket and chuckled when Nathan stiffened.

"Nah. You're not worth killing." Arthit threw some money onto Nathan's face and leaned over Nathan's face, feeling the uneven breaths on his skin. "You won't speak of a word that happened tonight."

Arthit caressed the top of his head, "shhh..." He put his finger to his lips, smiling at him. Very jolly indeed.

Nathan stared up at him, with raging eyes. But nodded slowly. He would die. Kongpob would die. And he loved Kongpob ... He closed his eyes, breathing through the unbearable pain. That bastard had broken everything. And to top it all he can't even see Arthit's face... Being covered by the mask...

But how kind he was, to throw some money on his broken flesh.

"Get patched up buddy. It looks like it hurts," Arthit pouted, before saluting him and chuckling. "Also, don't worry... You will be able to walk AND ride your bike... In few months... I didn't cripple you or anything..."

"But sometimes... tyranny becomes your last resort..." Arthit walked over to the limp body lying a few feet away. He hauled Kong over his shoulder.

"Did you forget to feed him? He's so light," Arthit tilted his head, frowning.

Before shrugging and walking away. Whistling. While Nathan watched, slumping on the ground.

Kongpob woke up with a headache. And he felt something on his forehead, it was so itchy. He tried to reach over and scratch but his hand wouldn't move.

He felt a burn on his wrist and looked over and immediately panicked, seeing himself bound on the bed with ropes.

Both arms bound to either pillar on the bed frame. And legs spread wide and tied with ropes again to the pillars.

His eyes widened, seeing himself naked, spread, and bound. And his head throbbed, with the flashes of the events racing through his head.

"You're awake...thought you died for a moment," a voice broke the eerie silence.

Kongpob snapped his gaze toward the left side and saw a man standing by the door. Leaning of the doorframe. Sipping on something.

Kongpob felt the cool breeze from the vent blow on his naked skin and shivered. Looking around and breaking into immediate sobs. Feeling so vulnerable and scared.

"I was so kind to you. Letting my soft side take over...and this is how you repay me?" Arthit took a menacing step toward Kongpob.

The darkness of the room adding to the fear running through Kongpob's veins.

"Arthit please...please don't do this," Kongpob cried.

He yanked at the restraints, looking all around. Feeling the fear grip over him, weighing him down. Like someone was pressing their heel into his ribcage, preventing him from breathing.

Arthit stopped in his tracks, bringing the glass to his lips. And taking another sip. Staring right into Kongpob's bloodshot eyes. Staring at him blankly. And the eyes void of any emotion, shook Kongpob to the core. As he shuddered and blinked back hot tears.

"Please. I didn't mean to offend you," Kongpob whispered. "I didn't encourage him... Please..."

His voice breaking and hoarse from all the screaming. As he desperately tries explaining. For everyone's sake. Just to tell the truth.

He'll take the punishment, all of it. But he wanted. No, needed Arthit to know. That Kongpob tried his best and nothing was intentional. He truly did everything according to what he thought Arthit wanted. And Arthit should be able to see. He had to.

Arthit saw the truth and purity in Kongpob's eyes. And he knew Kongpob was speaking the truth. His eyes portrayed all his emotions. His eyes were what made Arthit want to consume him from the first day.

The innocence and the never dimming light in those eyes, made his eyes roll back. And sent sensual tremors down his spine.

And he wanted to be the only thing Kongpob looked at with those doe eyes. He'll lock Kongpob up. Or burn down the entire world if need be.

"And nothing happened between Nathan and me." Kongpob took a big gulp of breath, his chest heaving. Trying to find any emotion in Arthit's eyes. "I rejected him... we're just friends. Arthit..." Kongpob's soft voice trailed off.

Seeing Arthit take a swig of his glass and slamming it down on the dresser. Slowly tilting his head, giving him a scarier look under the moonlight that shone through the windows.

"Is this how you repay me?" Arthit repeated again.

Ignoring Kongpob's heartfelt explanations. Like Arthit didn't even hear. Like Arthit didn't care.

And he began once again, breaking Kongpob to nothingness. "Repaying me by letting another man touch all over you?" Arthit whispered, letting his finger trail up the soft skin of Kongpob's thigh.

"He didn't-"

"Look at you now...squirming under my soft touches..." Arthit trailed his hand higher, gripping over Kongpob. While Kongpob looked away, biting his lips to stop the sobs.

Arthit didn't listen to a word. No, he did. Just didn't care enough. And he didn't know how to make Arthit believe. He had nothing more to offer. He was spread out in the most vulnerable ways and explained with all his heart.

And all went down the drain. All his efforts of months of distancing, pushing, hurting everyone including himself, and obeying Arthit, went down the drain. Like it didn't even matter.

Those nights he curled up in bed alone, breaking. Because hurting others only hurts him more. All those nights. ALL THOSE WEEKS.

And it's all gone. He was being treated like he didn't care. Like he didn't put out all his efforts into obeying.

Arthit squeezed Kongpob's thigh. Rubbing it before tailing his fingers softly across his skin. Humming in content of the softness he felt under his calloused hand.

"It's not arousing, is it? You like it rough, hmm?" Arthit leaned down and licked the inner corner of Kongpob's thigh.

Arthit looked up, between his lashes, at a squirming Kongpob. Trying to break out of the ropes and run. Poor thing, Arthit thought. So innocent and naive.

"Why are you trying to run? Don't you know you can't run?" Arthit murmured, biting down on his thigh. And Kongpob screamed, struggling to move his arms to cover his mouth.

Arthit trailed his nose up, licking, biting, and sucking. And stopped reaching Kongpob's jaw. His eyes turning a shade darker than black.

"Didn't you know...that there's no escape from me?" Arthit placed his thumb inside Kongpob's mouth while he arched his back. And turned his face, trying to get away from the firm touches.

"Don't you know that I'll haunt you wherever you go?" Arthit grabbed Kongpob's jaw and leaned down. Their breaths mingling. "Don't you know you'll come right back to me?"

"So stop trying me, okay?" Arthit smiled.

A smile that sent Kongpob's head into overdrive. A smile that made Kongpob want to run and never stop. And never look back. He stared at the eyes of a man with nothing to lose. Who didn't have a care in the world?

Kongpob's face fell to the side, at the effortless slap that struck his face, making him redder than before. And he sobbed out loud. Breaking.

"P-please..." Kongpob begged, trembling and struggling to be let loose. The tight ropes digging into his skin and skinning him raw.

"You're so pretty like this...truly a masterpiece," Arthit licked a line on Kongpob's shoulder, before sinking in. "I can't decide where I love destroying the most."

Arthit bit harder, moaning while simultaneously bringing down his hand to Kongpob's thigh. Making Kongpob break into sobs.

"I missed your cries, my dumb puppy," Arthit cooed, wrapping a strong hand around Kongpob's neck and continuously bringing another hand down to Kongpob's thigh.

Kongpob looked at Arthit wide-eyed. Feeling a vein bulge in his temple, from the intense pressure. He struggled, his fear taking over from not getting any air.

Arthit let go and chuckled, nipping his tummy. "Stupid baby..."

Kongpob coughed, catching his breath. And wept. Crying buckets.

"Hmm, don't you think you deserve a punishment?" Arthit asked, tapping his finger on Kongpob's cheek.

Kongpob stared up at the ceiling, registering he wasn't at his house. And freaked out even more. Crying out loud and begging. Repeating multiple sorries.

He didn't mind Arthit using his body... But he wanted Arthit to believe him. He wanted Arthit to listen and know the truth... Then break him...

Arthit tapped Kongpob's lips and smiled, "yes I thought so too." He walked over and brought out a sharpie marker.

"I'll do it with a marker first. And then with a blade, if you misbehave anymore," Arthit stared at Kongpob blankly, then smiled. Flashing his dimples.

Arthit leaned over, "hold still baby," Arthit pouted before gruffly turning Kongpob's face towards him.

Arthit pressed the black sharpie marker against Kongpob's flushed cheeks and frowned.

"Your tears are ruining my artwork," Arthit stared, spanking Kongpob's thigh.

"Please..." Kongpob whispered, only to be replied with a sickenly sweet smile that ticked off all the alarm bells in his head.

Kongpob closed his eyes, making more tears gush out, and was held in a headlock against Arthit's arms. He heard a dissatisfied groan and the sharpie held onto his cheeks again.

He traced the pen on the left side of his cheek and wrote W and H. And smiled. "I have great penmanship, don't you think?"

Kongpob's lips trembled as he tried his best to blink back tears, but he couldn't help as they gushed down. Arthit wiped away the tears harshly, murmuring "stupid bitch."

He went to the right side once he was satisfied with the left and wrote the letters, O, R, and E. He held Kongpob's face in his hands and looked at it.

"Now you look perfect."

Arthit took out his phone from his pocket and snapped a few pictures, with a smirk on his face. Satisfied with his little art project.

Arthit smiled widely and showed Kongpob the phone. Kongpob looked away, not wanting to see. Arthit stared down and landed another smack on Kongpob's thigh. The area stinging and burning from the smacks.

He grabbed Kongpob's chin and made him look at his phone. "Don't you dare look away again. You'll watch how I play with your little body. And your life."

Kongpob stared at the phone, the silent tears pouring out. As he stared at his disoriented face. With a handmark and "WHORE" written on it.

He bawled his eyes. Wanting to get rid of the shameful image.

"We're gonna have such an eventful weekend together, darling." Arthit took the belt from off the nightstand and dragged it along Kongpob's leg to his thigh.

He landed a smack on the abused right thigh. And multiple on the left one. Making them equally red and bleeding. While Kongpob bit his lips bloody, closing his eyes as the belt slashed through his skin.

Screaming when his nubs were hit. Begging and pleading. And feeling safe... Kongpob broke in more tears... Realising how safe he felt... He never felt so safe. Even in Nathan's presence. What is wrong with him?

"Arthit..." Kong whispered... Feeling his head swim... Just with the sound of the name. "Arthit..."

"Are you ready, baby boy?" Arthit leaned down and mumbled against Kongpob's bloody lips.

And took it between his teeth, biting harder. Being urged on by Kongpob's screams of pain.

"Because I am."

Kongpob fell to the wooden floors of his small home. Feeling used but stronger. Knowing how much he was capable of tolerating. Of how strong he truly was. But he knew he was broken, Arthit broke him.

He always thought of himself as weak. Timid, shy, fragile, and easily knocked down. But now he knew that no matter how many times he fell, he got back up.

His last weekend was hell. He barely even ate, except for the bowl of fruit Arthit had oh so generously given. And Kongpob ignored, not caring.

He was bound, whipped, and broken. And he thought he saw Arthit's craze and rage for him before. But this was unearthly.

He could still hear the growls and see flashes of blood and open cuts. Of Arthit licks away the droplets, moaning. Repeating how delicious he was. Hear the belt slashing through his skin.

He looked at his wrists, still kneeling on the floor. Moving with the pain was easier than before since he was made to be accustomed to it.

He saw the raw skin and the stinging when he touched it. He closed his eyes and laid on the floor. Arthit had dropped him off in front of his house and drove off. Not giving a flying fuck. Not before hurting Kongpob a little more though.

Get out. I don't have all night.

And Kongpob did immediately, like the obedient puppy he was. Doing everything that was asked with no questions or hesitations. He took his aching body out of the car and limped to the front door. And watched how Arthit drove off, without a single glance back.

But Arthit was happy with the little twinkle in his eyes, just so happy he got his months awaited gift. And Kongpob as the "dumb bitch," he was according to Arthit, accepted it all.

Kongpob laughed bitterly, curling up on the floor. Not minding his body convulsed in pain. And how uncomfortable the wooden floors were.

And flashes of Nathan on the ground bleeding with broken bones, because of him. Raced inside his head. And he let out a pained sob. No sounds coming out, just shaking in silent sobs.

Trying to cry out all the pain he was feeling. He gripped hair and pulled on them, hitting his head next. Squeezing his eyes shut and biting down hard on his teeth.

Desperately trying to anchor himself.

And the world went into a blur, everything started spinning. His knees went weaker, he could feel him losing strength in every limb.

And Kongpob screamed and screamed like no one had ever before. He screamed until he couldn't scream anymore. And his head lulled to the side, closing his eyes as he took small breaths through the throbs of pain shooting up and down his spine.

He stared at the little light that shone through the cracks of the curtains and smiled. Remembering Nana's words and looking at the twinkling moon in the sky through the window.

He was strong and he would live. And with that thought he closed his eyes, tears falling onto the floor. And he could feel the cuts beginning to bleed but kept his eyes closed. He'd clean up tomorrow. Everything can wait until tomorrow.

Arthit was relentless. Not giving Kongpob a break. Even messaging him now. His new way of tormenting Kongpob. Waking him up in the middle of the night with texts and demanding he goes to Arthit's house.

Or calling him to meet him in Kongpob's living room. Like Arthit had owned the place. And Kongpob would run down frantically, still trying to rub the sleep out of his eyes. Tripping over the stairs and hitting his hip at the corner of the counter.

Groaning in immense pain and slapping his hand over his mouth, watching Arthit sit at his cheap piano at the corner of the living room. Playing a melodious piece, turned dark.

Running his fingers along the keys gracefully. With closed eyes and swaying his head along with the melody. And Kongpob stood by the entrance to the living room, with a small smile.

And slowly he started getting used to the latter's presence until his hair is gripped tight and he's yanked to the bedroom and slammed against the wall. His face plastered against the wall as his pants are ripped off of him.

His arms locked behind his back as he cried out from the intense thrusts. Screaming when he was turned around and picked up. Blushing when he saw the veins in Arthit's arms popping. Holding all of Kongpob's weight like nothing.

Bouncing Kongpob on himself and pasting his forehead against Kongpob's groaning. While Kongpob bit his lips, afraid to fall.

Begging for a break and being taken again on the bed and by the sink in his bathroom.

"I'll mark you on every piece of furniture you own."

And Arthit did just that, on any of the days he wanted, making Kongpob bleed. And clean up in the morning.
