; interview with cassie (@traveller_)

In yet another unformatted post, I sit down with my lovely friend Cassie aka @traveller_ with a fun interview! Cassie is the author of "The Girlfriend Project" and has a whopping 16.6k+ fans, but if you ask me, no one really knows the REAL her. So I've decided to do the world a favor and introduce you all to the cat-loving, former-cheese-curd-virgin that I know.

So without further ado, let's begin.

Me: Okay. So this is your first time in Wisconsin. What do you think of it so far?

Cassie: I think it's really pretty and the food is good. It rains a lot, but I know that's not typically normal. I just really like it; I don't know how to describe why I like it, I just really like it.

Me: Have you ever heard of any Wisconsin stereotypes before?

Cassie: Just the cheese. I heard a lot about the cheese. But it's good here, so.

Me: Do you have any plans for The Girlfriend Project?

Cassie: I do, but I can't think of them now because they're all really organized on my computer.

Me: So you intend to finish it.

Cassie: Yes. Definitely going to finish it. Might take me a long time as I've had it posted for like three years, but I'm definitely going to finish it.

Me: What's your favorite story you've ever read on Wattpad? And have you ever been inspired by anything on Wattpad the same way writers get inspired by actual published works and well-known authors?

Cassie: I think it was "The Fallback Girl" by 1DOnlyYou. It didn't really inspire me, but I just really liked it and it was part of the reason that I wanted to start writing because I wanted to write stories as good as that one. It had a basic plotline, but the way it was written was really well-done. She gave away her account a while ago, though. And I don't think it's so much the stories I've read on Wattpad as it is the people I've met (that inspire her). Like, you inspire me to write because you're always motivating me even when you don't think you are. And all my other Wattpad friends - basically all of my Wattpad friends inspire me, like we'll go back and forth about it.

Me: Time for non-Wattpad-related stuff. You're obsessed with cats. Why?

Cassie: They're just...their faces are so round and their ears are so pointy. And I just really love whiskers, like 'whiskers' is my favorite word. I don't like human whiskers, just cat whiskers, and they have bean toes. And, like, the world doesn't understand cats so I feel like I have to understand cats for the rest of the world. And they love to sleep, and I love to sleep, so just... And there're so many of them that need to be rescued. I'm very passionate about cats. And some of them are just so tubby, and how can you not love tubby cats? 'Cause they're so squishy and huggable.

Me: Wow. Is there anything else you're that passionate about?

Cassie: I'm passionate about a lot of things, but not that much, like I am about cats. I was going to say cats, but we were just talking about my passion for cats.

Me: I'm definitely going to make you watch the CATS musical while you're here. So, how about music. You're a One Direction fan, but what else do you listen to?

Cassie: I love One Direction. I've recently started liking Taylor Swift. And...let's see. I really like kind of indie-style music even though I don't listen to a lot of it. Like I really like Of Monsters And Men. I'm more of, like, a song person rather than an artist person, 'cause I don't have a lot of songs from one artist but I have a lot of different songs. I really like 5 Seconds of Summer. I love Katy Perry - fun fact about me. Katy Perry is life.

Me: Have you seen her movie?

Cassie: No, I actually haven't.

Me: Do you want to?

Cassie: I have no idea. My sister watched it, and it was really good, and I watched parts of it 'cause I was actually the one who told her to watch it. Eventually I'll get around to watching it, but I'm not a big movie person.

Me: You're not a big movie person? So what are your favorite movies?

Cassie: I actually love Perks of Being a Wallflower. That's actually my favorite book too, and I think that's my favorite movie adaptation ever. I think it's really good. I just really relate to Charlie, so. I probably have other favorite movies but I can't think of any off the top of my head.

Me: I love that movie.

Cassie: And Big Hero 6. I love Big Hero 6. It makes me cry every time; I used to not cry in movies, but when I was fourteen I kind of started.

Me: How about Disney movies. Do you like Disney movies?

Cassie: I do like Disney movies. Lilo and Stitch. I know it's not a classic Disney movie; it's like between the classic and the newer ones, but it's still my favorite Disney movie ever.

Me: That's a solid choice. My favorite is Peter Pan followed super closely by Hercules. What's your favorite Disney song?

Cassie: That's really hard. Um... I really like the energy in "Circle of Life", but I really like "Reflection" from Mulan. But I'm a fan of the movie version, not the Christina Aguilera version. Don't get me wrong, I love Christina Aguilera, but I'm a fan of the movie version.

Me: Alright, let's move on. What's your favorite food?

Cassie: Mustard potato salad. And ice cream. I also really like gelato, but it has to be genuine Italian gelato like the stuff I had when I was in Italy.

Me: Okay, are you a Coke or Pepsi person?

Cassie: Coke.

Me: Good.

Cassie: I don't like to drink Pepsi unless it's the only option, and even then I try and aim for Cherry Pepsi.

Me: Understandable. Where is the coolest place you've ever visited?

Cassie: I'd have to say Florence, Italy. Pretty rad place. Lots of culture, but without feeling too overwhelming, like when you're in Paris you're very aware you're American, but in Florence it's kind of on the down-low. When we went to Florence, it was amazing. Amazing people, amazing gelato, amazing shopping opportunities. I'd definitely go back.

Me: Why'd you go there?

Cassie: I went on a tour with my French teacher and some kids in our class. And we just went for fun, like we went to Paris and the French Riviera and Florence and Rome, and then we went to a bunch of little villages in Italy between Florence and Rome. It was pretty cool.

Me: Italy seems super cool, actually. So, I know you're a fan of the TV show Friends. What other TV shows do you enjoy?

Cassie: I really like Law and Order: SVU. Like if that comes on the TV and it's a marathon, it doesn't matter whose house I'm at, I will sit there and I will watch it and I will tune everyone else out. I could watch that all day. And then I watch a bunch of anime and I know that sounds nerdy, but I do. I don't watch a lot of TV shows, but the ones I do watch I watch really intensely. What else do I watch, I know I watch other things... I really like Archer. It's so crude and disrespectful and inappropriate, but it's so funny. I really like The Office. Sherlock, love Sherlock. And I'm a huge fan of Powerpuff Girls.

Me: Duh. Who isn't? I actually hate The Office.

Cassie: Really?

Me: Yeah. I also hate Will Farrell movies.

Cassie: That breaks my heart. But at least we can still be friends.

Me: Agreed. Okay, let's talk social media. Do you let your followers know about your handles?

Cassie: I let them know about my Instagram and my Twitter, and if I'm really close to them I let them add me on Facebook. But no one really follows me anyway, so it doesn't really matter.

Me: Do you watch any YouTubers?

Cassie: I do. I watch a lot of YouTubers. I have a lot of favorites. Back in the day I used to cult-follow danisnotonfire. I still watch him a lot, but I dont' watch him a lot if you know what I mean. I also really like Thisislotta. She's a Finnish YouTuber and no one knows of her, but she's really funny. I really like John Green and his brother, KickThePj. KickThePj is life. He makes short films and vlogs about video games. Let's see, who else? I really love Troye Sivan.

Me: I've never watched Troye Sivan, but I know who he is because I love Tyler Oakley. Do you watch him?

Cassie: Yeah. I think he's okay. He's not one of my favorites, but I definitely don't hate him. I think he just has way too much energy for my personality, if you know what I mean. I used to be a big fan of JacksGap when they posted their older stuff, but they're just not what they used to be now.

Me: Do you watch, like, Zoella?

Cassie: I watch Zoella occasionally, mainly when I need hair style tutorials. But then I give up because I can never do it anyway. I think she's really cool.

And at this point we got too distracted and starting doing/talking about other things SO this is the end of the interview. I hope you gained more of an insight on Cassie, and if you haven't already, go check her out! This interview is dedicated to her.

Have a great day!
