Chapter 22: Are we Leaving?

Chaos raged outside, accusations and pointing of fingers angrily spread around. Yesterday was difficult for me to comprehend. Allison and I laid on the bed in deep thought, neither of us have spoken a word since we arrived at the funeral yesterday. Staring at the blank white ceiling, I rummaged through possible conversation starters. Finally coming up with something, I broke the tense silence, "I'm sorry," I murmured. Allison flicked her brown gaze at me, furrowing her eyebrows. "For what?"

"I am the one that caused all of the arguments at the funeral. If only I could have stopped what I was doing," I explained sympathetically. Funerals were supposed to be about getting together with your family, going over cherished memories with the loved one that passed. I of all people should know what a messed up family is like, but Allison's is practically a time bomb. Her dad was my favorite out of her whole family, he was very kind and considerate, and did what he thought was right.

"You didn't cause anything, no one knows what happened. I am pretty sure everyone is probably going to drop it, anyways. Most of my family have already left, and I just want to move on." She brushed off sleepily. I stayed silent, knowing she needed her time to think about what just happened. Considering that she was beyond tired, I let her drift off to sleep as I laid in bed, reliving the previous events.

Voices outside the door made me peek my eyes open in the dark room. The soft sound of Allison's heavy breathing made me be quiet as I tip toed down the carpeted floor. I creaked open the door, sliding out effortlessly. Sam, Dean, and Chris Argent were whispering, the familiar voices make me freeze, leaning slightly towards the railing to hear more clearly. "We should probably leave soon," Dean spoke up. "We haven't even finished the hunt!" Argued Chris. "Dean, think rationally. Once we finish what we came here to do, we can leave," urged Sam. "Luna is getting attached to Allison and her friends, she won't want to leave. I don't want her to go through what we did when we were kids, Sam. You out of all people should understand this," Dean explained heatedly. Dean had a point, I was definitely liking this new town. Allison and her friends were like a breath of fresh air, they took me in under their wing. They were different, just like me, having something different about them.

I heard a sigh as Dean finally spoke up again, "Fine, but not much longer," grumbling, the conversation started to die down. Rushing back into the room, my heart rate beating rapidly as I heard someone walk up the stairs. Jumping into bed, I threw the covers over my head. I didn't want to leave, but I knew I would have to eventually. There was nothing I could do about it if I wanted to stay with Sam, Dean, and Cas.
