Raise a glass

Raise a glass half empty

raise it to your lips

barely wet your whistle

leave you feeling parched.

Now you grab the bottle

gently fill it up

It may only be half full

but you won't mind so much.

It's not if it's full or empty

or half there either way

it's whether you just gulp it down

or fill it straight back up.

You can't keep taking out of life

unless you put back in.

Remember to refresh your glass

before you drain it down.

The future could be bright and sharp

it could be worse than this
