▬▬▬▬▬ ⵌ 🌃 𖥔 ˚ ༘ ◞㆐ DAVID BOWIE ALWAYS USED TO PLAY THROUGHOUT THE HOUSE SHE GREW UP IN. When her mother left, she decided not to take the records with her, but whenever Sera would suggest playing them her farther would shut down completely. She still remembers the day he snapped and broke every single record his wife left behind, right before he smashed the player into a wall leaving a dent the size of his eight year old daughters head.

      If you asked Sera about the environment she grew up in, she wouldn't call it an abusive one. Her farther never hit her, and as a child she didn't understand what else was considered abusive behaviour ▬▬▬ thank god for the therapist she had to explain every way she had been mentally, verbally and emotionally damaged as a child.

      Sera only saw the need for one after her ex-boyfriend started hitting her. At nine-teen she finally understood that she needed help fixing her broken pieces, but it still took her a year to seek out said help.

      To the woman it was embarrassing ... exposing herself in that way; being vulnerable and breaking down every way she'd let someone hurt her since she was six. It fucking sucked having that become her normal for the rest of her foreseeable future. She didn't want to have to talk about it, instead she further just accepted it and moved on with her life.

      She finally decided to try collage; even if all she could afford was the local one two train rides away from her crappy studio apartment, and got a job in a small restaurant to help with her stacking bills.

      The day she met Michael Berzatto she thought he was quite literally, for lack of a better word, insane ▬▬▬ however, it only took five minutes before she realised he was simply a joyful soul that tried to push that feeling on to everyone around him.

      Richie was being extremely loud (as per usual) trying to help a costumer that was clearly deaf, she asked to translate for him and suddenly realised this tall man was smiling in her direction. It was honestly terrifying (as it would be to any woman), but Mikey had this vibe to him that would cause people to trust him immediately.

      Sera hadn't even gone into The Beef looking for a job, she just wanted one of their stale bagels ... instead she was following around a tall, loudmouthed, asshole that couldn't go two seconds without saying the word "fuck" ▬▬▬ as soon as he learned she knew ASL he was asking to be taught every single swear word imaginable. It took Richie three months to learn he was actually calling himself a dickhead before Sera agreed to teach him the correct signs, as long as he tried to learn the language itself, too.

      Everyone took the news hard when they discovered Mikey had died ... it was a strange day to say the least. Sera locked herself in her apartment before showing up soaking wet in Tina's doorway; she looked like a depressed, miserable, wet stray dog that hadn't eaten in weeks.

      To say the least, it concerned her co-worker (who was also in mourning) and her motherly instincts took over as she let the girl into her home. They spent the rest of their night going through the stages ▬▬▬ reminiscing, crying, cooking and watching Gilmore Girls over ice-cream at the request of Sera.

      The family that had formed in the kitchen of The Beef had been informed of Michael's brother Carmen taking over. It still felt too soon as they were finally beginning to get back to their norm ▬▬▬ Sera just hoped he didn't destroy the peace she had found in this shitty corner of Chicago; a place she had hated since the one person supposed to love her the most abandoned her there for eternity.
