Prologue
The horizon was on fire, scarlet just like the ocean drowned with death just below. Black smoke was taking over the morning sky displaying the last sunrise Center Coast would never live through. The world was a pandemonium club. The Army of Esdith was the most beautiful and fearsome sight anyone from Center Coast could ever imagine. It was forged with grace and tamed with honor. It consisted of a group of men cloaked in black standing in a V-shape. The man in the Center of the V stood perfectly still with his hands resting on a cane. Although where they stood was the meeting of the ocean and forest, with every step they took it were as if the earth shook with fear and the surface shriveled up. Behind every few men stood another black cloaked figure. Meters behind was a line of beings cloaked in white, their hoods also shadowing their faces. Behind them was an army of Geminds cloaked in red. Their faces were angry and their eyes were completely black. The spaces in between each one were filled with black smoke. The whole thing ended in a fast blur, yet insanely slow and clear.
Directly in front of Josiah stands a black-hairedboy almost dead. He falls to his knees and collapses at his feet. Behind is a field of dead bodies. Silver haired men and women lay with empty eye sockets. Some bodies lay with no head, some bodies can no longer be called bodies. Among the bodies rest a few living ones. Julian lays on his back unable to move. A figure in a white cloak roams the field of dead, looking for survivors. Once he reaches Julian, he raises his hand and just before he can settle, Tucker formalizes in front of him; black feathers falling off of his heavy black cloak, his hand clutching the Elite in white's.
"Enough. This was not intended for. We did not come to kill; we came to retrieve."
Colton appears near Josiah, carrying a mass of black cloth. Two more of his brothers appear and gracefully pull the black-haired boy to his feet. Colton wraps the cloak around the dirty and hopeless boy. Zachariah looks towards a motionless, frozen figure watching them. He meets his eyes and immediately the boy winces, looking away. Tucker appears near him, a gentle hand on the boy's shoulder. Tucker drapes a familiar black cloak around him.
"What're you doing?" He whispers, aware of Zachariah's gaze on him.
"You are your Master's aeternus. Xavier is going back to Esdith with us Nicholas and you are to follow your Master to the ends of the earth." Tucker says sternly. The boy looks towards his Master also now cloaked in black. His brothers carry him. He gulps then pulls the hood over his head.
"Brother, welcome back." Jonathan whispers to his brother. They pull the hood over his face then begin to walk away from the massacre. Josiah remains idle, his hands still resting on his cane. He looks towards the forest, observing the small empty town just after. In one swift motion, he turns his body away and just at that moment, the entire area gets covered with black smoke. Center Coast was only covered with the dome of smoke for a mere second until it disappeared, leaving it in ruined particles, a mere historical site.
