A Brief History on Esdith
Greetings! As mentioned before, Esdith is a supernatural story. However I happened to create some of the beings and I decided it would be easier to explain them beforehand rather than slowly do it throughout the story. Considering this is not part of the story, expect that it won't be so entertaining, but I implore you to bear with me!
You don't have to memorize anything obviously, just get the main picture.
Geminds
Geminds are dark immortal creatures that feed on flesh. There are two types of Geminds, Major Geminds and Minor Geminds. In all of history there are only twelve Major Geminds, brothers. Minor Geminds are typically known for their magical inscriptions, each with it's own power. They also have the ability to use Gemind smoke. Black smoke in which they are ale to annihilate anything with. One it forms a closed circuit, it forms immense pressure that destroys whatever is inside it. Although this is mainly used by Major Geminds, Minor Geminds can barely use it. Geminds in general walk the earth in the form of humans, but they all contain a true form buried inside of them. Major Geminds have access to it at all times while Minor Geminds die after the use of it.
Blays
Blays are immortal creatures known for their eye powers. They have the ability to see 'the strings of emotion'. They are strings that surround every person or being that tell their emotions. Blays have the ability to manipulate them, by pulling and bending them. Unlike any other creature, Geminds do not have strings surrounding them, but rather a large black glob that has led to the belief that they have no emotions. Blays roam the earth looking just like humans with the exception of their silver hair and purple irises. Like Geminds, Blays come in Types. Major and Minor blays.
The Identity Mark (IMPORTANT)
Every supernatural creature is born or made with this mark. It is a series of intricate silver designs etched into the individual's face. It can only be seen when they are in their supernatural and true forms. It is proof of good nature and intentions. In short, it makes them 'good'. For every being, there are conditions upon which the identity mark shatters. For a Gemind it is betraying someone's trust.
Major Geminds too have Identity Marks, but unlike others, once it's shattered it cannot be restored. For Minor Geminds, vampires, werewolves, and minor blays, it can be restored by a Major Gemind, an elder vampire, an alpha and a major Blay.
Esdith
A large city, in the land of Rusvaria atop a faraway mountain, named after the large Gemind castle at its center, is Esdith. Esdith lives as the center, haven, and government for all the supernatural. Major Geminds serve as the rulers of the land. They keep the equilibrium and even though they are the most powerful, they do not wreak havoc as they please.
Major Geminds usually remain in Esdith. Every few generations they each embark on a journey to find talented marked children and bring them to Esdith whether as servants or as Elites to become generals of their armies. In this journey, every Gemind leaves alone. Yet, every one hundred centuries a marked child is born. She is called the Tick Tock. Powerful enough to take down even Josiah, the eldest brother. The Major Geminds gather their army and search for the Tick Tock in order to eradicate her, preserving their race.
Major Geminds are naturally the kings of their land and so in a large throne hall in the center of Esdith lie twelve thrones. One for each of the brothers.
Long ago when Esdith, the center of the empire of Rusvaria, was a worldwide known place by even humans, the throne room served as a place to settle matters among the people.
Now, it's still used for that purpose not so often as the supernatural fear the brothers far too much and tend to settle things without including them. That leaves the throne room relatively empty most of the time. A heart wrenching occurrence.

Major Geminds are the most powerful creatures on Earth. They are ancient immortal beings feared for their overpowering wisdom and sense of justice.
Aeternus
Aeternus is an ancient Rusvarian word that means many things. It refers to the immortality and life of the soul in two halves. When two people form an extremely powerful and cherished relationship with invincible trust we (those from the land of Rusvaria...or those who work there) say that it was as if their souls were each sundered and then put together. This half of the soul is called an aeternus.
As known, Geminds in general feed on flesh. Minor Geminds initially eat dead flesh, as they are abiding by the law. Major Geminds on the other hand, can have aeternuses or pets. A minor Gemind who has been bitten by a Major Gemind and then allowed to eat of the flesh of the same Major Gemind, form a bond. (All Geminds have regenerative abilities) The bite Mark left from the Major Gemind's teeth does not heal and by time turns into an intricate Gemind Inscription with the Major Gemind's archaic name. They then form a bond.
The Minor Geminds, now aeternuses, acquire more abilities and are always by their Master's side. In hunger, a bite from each will suffice. The bite whether from the Major Gemind or the aeternus is magical and a blessing. It contains healing, soothing, and energy abilities. In short, when a Major Gemind feeds on his aeternus, they both become more powerful. Also, they are able to sense each other's pain in vague ways.
The bond they form strengthens over time and they become two parts of the same soul. On the contrary of the aeternuses sounding like only slaves, their Masters hold them in such high regard of admiration and love and are very much respected by everybody else. They are almost treated like Major Geminds themselves. Almost. That does not mean that they still cannot be put in place by their masters.
Most aeternuses remain with their Masters for as long as they live. (Geminds are immortal so they are usually killed on the contrary to bland death) The death of an aeternus is one of the most tragic and painful occurrences in Esdith. It is the only time when the brothers are fazed. It causes immense pain for the Major Gemind and makes him sick for a period of time. The brother then becomes weak and rejects any food given to him. Some also tend to become aggressive and that is all that we are permitted to say.
Once a Brother has an aeternus, that aeternus is protected by all the brothers in order to avoid those pains. It is a code they live by. If a brother is to harm or kill another's aeternus, he is to be severely punished by the top three. Although thankfully, this has not happened in several millennia. (when it did, it was considered heavy teasing)
Marked Children
The offspring of any supernatural and a human is usually a marked child. A Marked Child is mostly human. They have the same human traits. They are mortal, they bleed, they breathe and their hearts beat. If in the family are more than one child, then all the offspring except for one are to be marked. If the parents only give birth to one child that child will be a marked one. 40% of humans are marked. 80% of them never find out what they are. 30% of the remaining 20% never find their mark. 80% is divided into two halves. Those who activate it by a desperate and pretentious minor Gemind usually die. Reasons are unknown. The other half are lucky to survive their bargains with Major Geminds who read their marks for them and take them to Esdith as payment. Those worthy are then gifted by the Major Gemind who deciphered the mark and become Elites. While the others become mere servants in the holy castle of Esdith.
The Marks
It is rare for a Marked Child to have true knowledge of their marks and blood at young age. Most find out around their teenage years. We have yet to know what it is exactly that awakens their marks. We've been told that their marks first appear a blazing and burning glow anywhere on their body. The Mark is a circle with shapes and lines swallowed into its middle. That is the general look. Marks vary from person to person, but it must always be a circle. What makes only Geminds capable of reading and activating the Mark is the similarity of their Gemind inscriptions with The Children's Marks. Even though Minor Geminds are only those who use Inscriptions, they cannot activate the Mark. They may be able to understand the Mark in pieces, but never in the whole picture. Major Geminds hold this task in the palm of their hands. Only they can read the Mark and activate it with the Child's knowledge.
Upon the appearance of the Mark, most marked children flee home in search of a Major Gemind. Once reached Esdith, Marked Children have a generally hard time getting to the Castle. Once they do; the Brothers choose one of themselves to read the Mark of who they deem worthy. Upon deciphering the Mark, the Major Gemind decides of their worth. The Child is then either to become a servant at the castle of Esdith, or an Elite.
