Julian slowly walks down the slope that Esdith is built on. He runs a hand through his silver hair with a sigh. Julian stops as he finds Xavier leaning against a tree and looking towards him. He drops to one knee. Xavier, despite his agitation, admires Julian's perfect submission. He does it so gracefully so that in no way does kneeling bruise his pride.

"Why have you blessed me with your presence, My Lord?" Julian says sarcastically. Xavier approaches him solemnly. He digs his hand into the pocket of his black suit and pulls something out. Julian watches as Xavier pokes his hand out of his black Esdithian cloak.

"My eye patch?" Julian asks. Xavier looks down into Julian's purple eyes. He wasn't always a major blay, he had the ability to revert his eyes to hazel color. Xavier then looks at his left eye, a venomous darkness lurking by it and snorts.

"You should get that covered up lest it suddenly goes out of control." Julian narrows his eyes at him then snatches the eye patch from his hands. He covers his left eye and ties the string around his head.

"You mean my abomination of an eye? The one you so graciously gifted me with?"

"Jules? Jules! Where are you?" Lilly slowly opens the door to the biology lab of their high school and pokes her head in, taking a look inside.

"So what if Lily trusts you? Calm the hell down Xavier. You're overreact-" In one swift motion, Xavier throws Julian against the wall, and presses his hand at his neck.

"Calm down? Calm down?! Imagine this Julian; She trusts me. I screw up. I break her trust, and my Identity Mark shatters." Xavier growls angrily.

"You won't break her trust." Chokes out Julian.

"How do you know? I'm a Gemind. I destroy and hurt. Burn and kill. I don't do trust. I don't do feelings." Julian glares at Xavier so intensely, his irises turn purple. From the center of his pupil, emerge black lines that cut through the purple all the way to the end of his iris. As he continues to glare at him, the lines being to spin, their speed increasing by the second. Xavier glares back at him, and without realizing, his pupil's black extends all the way to the whites of his eyes, making his eyes completely black. Julian's neck begins to turn silver, the silver skin extending all the way down to his body. Around Xavier, black smoke appears and it begins to circle the two of them. Lilly stares in awe as the two boys stare at each other's eyes without a single movement. Suddenly, Julian cries out and covers his eyes with his hands. Xavier backs away from him with shock and quickly, the smoke disappears and his eyes return to their normal icy blue.

"Stop doing that Julian. You won't see any strings." Julian shakes his head then takes off his large glasses. His purple eyes still taking in Xavier.

"Yes, I will. Everyone has feelings, and Geminds are no exception. This big black glob that surrounds all of you, I'm going to figure out what it is." Julian states firmly, then puts his glasses back on.

"You Blays get on my nerves. I'd kill you all if I weren't as old as I am." Mutters Xavier.

"What does your age have to do with anything?" Scoffs Julian.

"You and I are both immortal Julian, we've been on earth since the beginning of time, and I don't know about you, but if there's one thing I've learnt, it's that a with no rules is bound to fall and it's bound to fall hard. Now imagine we didn't follow the rules, what do you think would happen to the world? I could kill you all if I wanted to but I'd be breaking the rules and destroying the equilibrium of our world." Julian raises an eyebrow then claps sarcastically.

"Anything else stopping you from killing us? Like that Blays and Geminds are natural allies, maybe?" Xavier puts a hand on the wall and admires the contrasts in color.

"Nope."

"Or that we've always found a way back to each other? You and I especially? Or that-" Xavier licks his lips slowly then disappears, leaving black feathers behind. As fast as light, he appears in front of Julian, one hand gripping both of his awkwardly, and his knee in his gut. Xavier tilts his head and smirks, his cold blue eyes piercing through Julian's now-hazel ones. Slowly, agonizingly slowly, Xavier's hand goes to Julian's left eye. His index and middle fingers rest on his upper eyelid and his thumb on Julian's bottom eyelid.

"No Julian. I don't care who my allies are. I destroy people who get on my nerves, I burn people for the joy of it." Julian laughs loudly.

"C'mon then. You know how to kill me, take my eyes out." Julian challenges. Xavier pushes his fingers into his eye slowly, making Julian's vision turn dark.

"You know you can't actually do it, because I trust you and you trust me back. And killing me would mean betraying me, Xave. And if that happens, your Mark shatters." Julian taunts. Xavier smiles venomously then jerks his fingers in completely. Julian cries out in pain as Xavier pulls out his eyeball and crushes it in his hands.

With a satisfied looking smile, and black goo dripping between his fingers, Xavier says, "To kill you, I'd have to pull both your eyes out. I only took one now, didn't I?" Julian covers his left eye and looks at Xavier, black ichor leaks from under his hand.

"How long will you stay on your knees?" Xavier asks Julian.

"Until My Lord gives me permission to rise." Julian retorts. Xavier grits his teeth and clenches his fists.

"Why do you treat me like a Lord of Esdith when you so obviously detest doing so?" Xavier grits out. Julian sets his lips into a grim line, a shadow taking over his face.

"Because that's who you are." Julian tells him. Xavier shuts his eyes and nods.

"Rise Julian." Xavier says as he begins to walk towards the city in the distance.

"Where're you going?" Julian calls after him. Xavier stops, turning to give Julian a questioning look.

"You're going to find the annoying little Bambi, aren't you? And depending on who's asking, I'm either accompanying you to make sure you don't flee or I'm out for a little air." Julian chuckles and Xavier smiles. He pulls up his hood then nods towards the distance.

"Let's go Jules."
