20 years later

''Max! I got you a surprise!''

I smile as he walks out from the kitchen, then give him the box. He opens it and smiles, then takes out the glass rose. He walks back to the kitchen, while I go to the garden. Once I'm outside I go to the bench on the patio, and just lay down.

Today's the 20 anniversary of the fall. So much has happened in that time. I can still remember the mourning week, how out of 2000 people, only 200 survived, how Cyra and the other living Wolves were thrown into jail for life, and how we survivors slowly healed together.

There are still scars, still painful memories resurging as nightmare, but at least we can heal together.

I remember the day, 10 years ago, when Max proposed to me. It was really nice, he took me to a beach, we played and swam all day, and just as the sunset came, he asked me to be his one and only.

So many thing have happened, but at least we're safe now.
