Chapter-19

Aura Finley

The sunshine the next morning was a bit brighter or maybe I felt so since I was jubilant from inside and was ecstatic to meet Kian. The warmth of his touch and the delicious flutters of his kiss still lingered inside my head. After a long time, I felt so damn alive, otherwise, I had been living the life of a Zombie, working to pay off my debt without being involved in anything.

His assuring words, his calm voice, and agreeing to give ourselves some time were something that pushed me more toward him.
The desires I didn't know were inside me came flooding out with high intensity, drowning me in exotic temptation. Smile dare not leave my face.

"Whoa, someone's all smiles this morning. What's special?" Vinnie's energetic statement followed by a whistle broke my trance from my reflection which I had been looking at for quite some time now.

Smiling, I faced her. "Nothing's special. Can't a person smile for no reason?"

"Well, no argument there." She approached me, smiling mischievously. She gently grabbed my chin and looked directly into my eyes, and wiggled her eyebrows. "But you look different today."

She then abruptly gasped. "Did Ezra propose to you and you accepted? Something happened between you two, right?"

Frowning, I gently swatted her hand away. "No. Why would you say that?"

Her eyes turned wide for a nanosecond before she laughed nervously. "Oh, I-Both of you have been spending time with each other a lot, so I thought, maybe..." She shrugged her shoulders. "Everyone's assuming the same."

"Well, there's nothing like that." I simply smiled and again faced the mirror and picked up the eyeliner to apply it to my eyes.

I recalled Kian confessing once that he liked my eyes beautified with bold eyeliner. Apparently, I had stopped applying the bold eyeliner for no particular reason, however, I wanted to do it now. I raised my head and looked into the mirror through my lashes to apply the perfect stroke of the liner when Vinnie practically screamed something unexpected which caused my hand to wobble and the liner got smeared above my eyebrow.

"If not Ezra, then it's Kian, right? Damn right! You did spend a night in his room! Your smile, he's the reason, isn't he? God, you two did something that night, didn't you?"

"N-nothing happened, Vinnie." I stuttered, even though nothing happened between the two of us.

I wiped the liner with the makeup wipe, not wanting to look at her since Kian and I were kinda together and I didn't yet want to disclose about us to anyone. Or better yet, do not disclose it at all.

I heard her sigh. "It's fine if you don't want to tell me, however, you can't lie, Aura. Anyway, hurry up, we've got a lot to do today."

I was quite relieved that she gave up on the topic and went to scroll through her phone. Once done with dress-up, Vinnie and I exited our room together, giggling at a random, silly joke Vinnie had cracked.

Momentarily, my giggle suppressed and my breath hitched when my eyes landed on Kian coming out of his room with Joy. He looked different. It was as if he made some efforts to get ready. His hair was styled differently than usual. The usual gel-styled hair was now replaced with free-flowing hair, making me want to rake my fingers through his smooth locks and not leave until the itch in my fingers, and the itch inside me had been satisfied.

I had never seen him wear a watch, but he had one on now. The broad strap watch added a sexual appeal to his muscular hairy arm.

Our eyes met and I melted into a liquid when Kian passed me his sexiest, teasing smile, reminding me of our passionate and hot encounter the night before.

"Hey, Good morning, everybody." Joy exclaimed and went straight to his girlfriend, Vinnie, and kissed her squarely.

Smiling at their romantic greeting, I again looked at Kian whose gaze hadn't left me. He blew a secret kiss at me and winked.

"So, ya'll set to rock the stage?" Leo's cheerful voice from behind caused me to turn and look at him. He saw me and I saw his eyes turning wide. "Aura? Is that you?" He approached me while pointing a finger at me. "Your eyes... Damn, you look more beautiful than usual."

I laughed, blushing. "Thank you, Leo."

Beaming, he came closer. "Would it be justifiable if I propose you right now?" He was about to hold my hand when out of nowhere Kian grabbed his hand and carried it around his shoulder, pulling him away from me.

"Leo, buddy, it'll only be justifiable if you ever decide to stick to one girl, which I doubt will happen anytime soon because you hit on every new girl every other day. Also, you can't keep your boy in your pants for more than a day." Kian teased him and earned a nudge from him.

"As if you keep it in your pants." Leo retorted, laughing.

"Believe it or not, I do." That's all Kian said as he switched his gaze at me. "I'm precious, aren't I."

I simply laughed at him and shook my head. Just then, a hand got wrapped around my arm which caused me to flinch abruptly. It was Ezra.

"Hey, Aura, let's go, we have a lot of work to do." He said. My gaze was still fixed on Kian, who now had his jaw tight, and his gaze on Ezra's hand around me.

Kian slipped off Leo's arm from around his shoulder and inserted his hands in his jeans pockets. I could see him clenching his hands into a fist through his pocket.

I didn't even get the time to withdraw my arm from around Ezra as he had already taken his hand away. But it did tick something inside Kian. Even the dumbest person could tell that.

Before I could utter a word to Ezra, Kian stepped near us, and keeping his gaze fixed on Ezra, he spoke. "Hey Ez, I have something to discuss with Aura. Will it be okay with you if she met you outside once we are done talking?" His voice was calm, but I could sense bitterness in it.

By now, Vinnie, Joy, Mia, and Rachel had already left to continue with the day.

"What is it you have to discuss privately with her?" Ezra sternly questioned.

Uh oh, they were going to create a scene. I was mad with Ezra. Why was he not giving up on me when I had already warned him not to have any hopes? What did he want from me? Choosing the one for me would be my choice to make, not any other, may it be Kian or Ezra.

"Ezra..." I called for him and when he looked at me, I continued. "I'll meet you outside in a few."

He got stunned after hearing me and with a clenched jaw, he stormed out with Leo, not before throwing Kian an odd look.

"Hey." Kian beamed as he waved at me. And just like that, his smile melted me into a puddle of mushiness. I went closer to him and grabbed his hands in mine.

"Good morning," I whispered before giving a feathery peck on his left cheek.

"Wow, if I'm going to be greeted like this in the morning, I'll rush to your room first thing in the morning and happily give myself to you. Or better yet, let's share a room, it not only-"

"Shut up Kian." I laughed as I playfully slapped his chest. He threw a playful mean look at me, then laughed himself.

All of sudden his laughter died down and he whispered. "Aura..." His grip on my hands tightened as he lowered his eyes, not choosing to look at me.

"What is it Kian?" I asked softly, tilting my head, trying to look into his eyes.

Slowly, he looked at me, biting the corner of his lower lip. "I feel like Ezra is trying to snatch you away from me. Sooner or later, I am sure he's going to make a move on you." He mumbled calmly.

Uh oh, how could I tell him that Ezra had already confessed to me that he wanted me to give him a chance? I couldn't hide it from Kian as it could create rifts between us, especially when we had yet to begin our relationship.

"He already did," I mumbled. Kian let go of my hands, taking the warmth of his hands away with him. He rubbed his face with his palms, then sighed, and fixed his gaze with mine.

"Should I be worried?" His question came in a calm and steady tone, however, his eyes displayed a storm of uneasiness within them.

His calm composure and the choice he made to tackle the situation with the presence of mind even when he simmered with jealousy within himself surged a gallon of affection and respect within me for him. I liked how he didn't throw his jealousy at me.

He was indeed precious.

A smile grew on my lips as I again grabbed his hands "No. You shouldn't be. No matter whoever makes advances on me, it will always be my choice in the end and I choose you. But keep this in mind that we are still hanging on a fragile thread, we have a lot to do to make this work."

He didn't utter a word, instead, he pulled me to him and captured my lips in a searing kiss.

"Let's forget other things and focus on us." He mumbled as he nibbled on my lower lip. "By the way, you look sexy today."

I pulled away slightly and raised my eyebrows, he still had my face cupped between his palms. "I'm practically wearing the same thing I wear every day. Zara's uniform. Why'd you find me sexy now?"

He grinned and kissed the corner of my lip. Then he kissed his way to my left ear. "Maybe because you're my soon-to-be girlfriend?" He nibbled my ear and delicious shivers raced throughout my body.

"Be prepared for I'm going to take you out today." He suddenly mumbled, leaving me stunned.

"A date?" I questioned.

"Nope, cheesesteak." He chuckled. "It's going to be a day out for knowing each other before we went for an official date."

"How do you plan on formulating it when we have a heavy load of work tailing us?" I asked.

He smirked smugly. "My intuition says that we surely will go out today that too with Zara's permission."

"You are up to something, aren't you?" I inquired suspiciously.

He grinned. "Nope, I am not. Our destiny will do work for us."

I scrunched my nose. "You are so damn corny! What if your intuition failed you?"

"Then you can go a day without kissing me. But if I am proved right, you will give in to my demands just like now."

With that, he suddenly hoisted me up, making me wrap my legs around his hips.

"Fuck, you've arisen my suppressed desires." He groaned and walking a little, he pressed me against the wall.

Our lips connected again and we kissed as if there was no tomorrow. I could tell that Kian excited me, and brought out a different me from inside myself. While our lips connected as our tongue fought for dominance, I felt the feathery touch of his fingers sliding down my arms, reaching my back which made me arch in pleasure.

I mustered every single bit of strength in me to hold myself around him since his gentle touches were making me paralyzed. A sudden moan left my throat when I felt his hands under my t-shirt. Shudders flew inside me with full force and zipped down the tingles towards my famine part. My heartbeat soared, and so did his. I felt it. I sensed it.

"Kian..." I whimpered in need when he slipped off his hands from my t-shirt and grazed my thighs. I wanted his hands back on my skin. I yearned for skin-to-skin touch.

He released my lips but pulled me closer to himself as if wanting to mold my body in himself. I moaned at the sudden push of his groin against mine.

"What is it Aura?" His chest heaving, his voice husky, and his eyes pooled in desire, so were mine.

I gripped his hair and pressed my forehead against his. "Don't stop, please," I begged in a whisper. My body was in need to explore new possibilities.

A smirk that formed on his lips didn't go unnoticed by me. Cunning bastard. He knew what he was doing.

"Babe, you're as hot as the bottom of my laptop, still I don't plan to stop working on you. I plan to work on you until your brain shuts down and you beg for a recharge."

With that hot, dirty, flirty remark, he captured my lips again with his hands raising my t-shirt. I brought my hands down and gripped his biceps as he grazed his thumb on my sides, sending tickles all over me. His hands went up and stopped just under my breast. Groaning, he hungrily brushed his lips towards my neck and thrust himself against me. His hands reached at my back to unhook my bra when a new female voice abruptly broke us apart.

"Holy shit!"

It was Gemma.

Frantically, we both tried to untangle from each other, and during the process to detach ourselves, Kian jerked away quickly which made me fall flat on my butt with a loud thud.

"Ow." I groaned, trying to hide my face from Gemma. Kian immediately rushed to help me. "Geez, sorry."

"Oh, I-I didn't know you two were...um, I am sorry. I just wanted to talk with Kian but guess it's the wrong timing. I'll get going."

Gemma blurted out and by now Kian had raised me to my feet. "Gemma wait." He called for her.

"Nope. Even though we have moved on, I don't want to see my ex having sex with his new girlfriend. Bye." And with that, she dashed out.

I groaned. "Damnit! What she must be thinking of us?!"

Kian laughed. "Nothing. She's a grown-up girl and knows what exactly we were doing. Don't fret about it."

"It's easier for you to say." I snapped. "Let's go out." I walked past him but he stopped me by grabbing my wrist and pulled me back to him.

"Cheesesteak, you might wanna redo your hair or they'll think we had a crazy wild sex in here."

Heat rose to my face. Before I could do anything to fix my hair, he did it for me. He brushed back every strand out of my face and tucked them behind my ear. "Here, all done. Though the evidence of what we did is visible on your face, this will do."

He laughed while teasing me and anger smeared inside me. Narrowing my eyes at him, I stomped on his foot before making my way out.

"Damnit, Aura! Who'll redo my hair? Fuck, you are a downright insensitive and cold-hearted woman. If anyone asked about my unkempt hair I'll instantly confess to everybody what you did with me. How hungry you were for me."

Rolling my eyes. "Go ahead. I ain't scared of you or anybody." I yelled back as I kept walking.

Kian Turner

I laughed my heart out. I abso-fucking-lutely loved teasing her.

Damnit, she was like a drug and was hell-bent to make me an addict. The way she kissed me, fought squarely to show her dominance. I fucking loved it. I fucking loved everything she did to me.

Her gentle yet dangerous touches left me yearning for her. Her hands in my hair and around my neck burned me with her warm presence. My pulses kicked up a notch when she practically begged me not to stop. The sexual desires hidden inside me surged to life, leaving me hard on.

I brushed my hair with my hands before running after her. I could not resist going close to her. I wanted her by my side so that I could feel her, tease her, laugh with her, and chat with her anytime I wanted.

"Hey, cheesesteak, stop. Jesus, you are faster than Usain Bolt. Why don't you try for the Olympics?" I huffed as I approached her and walk beside her. "Anyway, see I fixed my hair myself."

"As if it's a huge thing to do. You are a big boy, aren't you?" She eyed me.

I smirked. "Enormous is the correct word. You can check whenever you wish to. I won't stop you."

Gasping, she stopped short in her track, which caused me to halt as well. She threw me a dirty look. "You are a jerk! Pervy!"

I threw my head back and laughed. I was about to tease her more when I heard Rian's voice.

"Hey, you two. Good morning." She approached us. "Both of you seem quite joyous this morning. Well good for the plan, isn't it?" She beamed, clapping her hands.

"Kian, hope you have explained it to Aura as to why not to have a second thought about the task?" She questioned while switching her gaze between Aura and me. "Aura, you trust me now, don't you?"

I heard Aura sigh. "Honestly, I don't. But I am here to do my work which I will do anyway."

"Right." Rian chuckled as she observed Aura skeptically. She then looked at me, beaming.

"Is everything alright with you, Kian? It's been a minute standing with you and you haven't passed your infamous flirty comment. Don't I look beautiful today?"

Why would I pass comment on her now? When I could flirt with my girl why would I need another one? I was anything but a cheater.

Momentarily, my gaze switched to Aura and I gulped audibly when I saw a challenge in her eyes, waiting for what I would do now.

Kian, man, you are trapped. I had never been in such a situation before. How would I get out of it now?

I rubbed the back of my neck. "Well, uh, you know, Rian, you are beautiful. I don't believe you want to be reminded about that every day."

Frightened if I had said anything wrong which could have broken my promise to Aura, I feared to even look at her. However, I could feel her gaze on me.

Rian laughed. "I wouldn't mind being reminded, though."

I coughed when I felt Aura intentionally brush her shoulder against mine. "Uh, Rian...we need to go. We have work, you know." I let out.

"Oh sure." She exclaimed and walked away not before waving at me.

"So..." Aura crossed her arms as she came before me. Her firm look had me believing that I certainly said something wrong.

I raised my hands in surrender. "Listen, I tried, okay? I ain't familiar with such situations when I don't have to flirt. That was hella difficult for me."

"I didn't accuse you of anything, did I?" She raised her eyebrows what seemed to be in utter mock. Then a secret smile tugged on her lips. "I was going to say that you do know how to keep promises. I was going to compliment you."

I gawked at her and groaned. "Damnit Aura! You had me there. My heart was about to come out in my hands. You're so cunning!"

She smirked and shrugged. "You needed to have a taste of your own medicine."

We then headed back to work and all day, even though she was paired to work with Ezra, I time to time stole her away from him by providing excuses to make out in almost every hidden lone corner we could find. I also kept my eyes on Ezra, making sure he doesn't make a move on her. Even if he did, I wouldn't have picked up a fight because I trusted Aura. I had to if we were going to make things work.

By the evening, after work hours when we gathered for a meeting with Zara, she came rushing to us, worried, which had all of us worried as well.

"This is not good." She furiously ran fingers through her hair. "They can't do this. I'll sue them!"

"Hey, hey, what happened, Zara?" Rachel asked.

Zara sighed. "The regular flower shop with whom we do business is saying that can't provide us pink lilacs. They are unable to. God, we require them for the wedding the day after and they are saying they can't fulfill our demand. What am I going to do now?"

She practically cried before us. And I could understand her frustration. It's so unprofessional in business. Though the situation was not to take advantage of, an idea popped into my head and I tried to kill two birds with one stone.

I approached her. "Hey, Zara, don't worry about flowers. Leave it on me, a friend of mine owns a flower shop and I can assure you he'd be of great help."

Zara's eyes lit up with hope. "Really? Kian then please approach your friend and ask him to help us. I'm ready to pay extra if it's needed. Just save my business. Please."

"Hey, hey, you don't have to plead. I'll do anything in my power to have flowers delivered by tomorrow." I assured her because I knew my friend would never appoint. Although the number of flowers required might cause a slight tension, I knew him better, he would make sure to arrange them at any cost.

"Thank you, Kian. Take whatever you require. You want my car to visit your friend? Take it. Just bring me out of this embarrassing situation." She handed me over her car keys and I grabbed them without hesitation. Well, why would I deny a free, luxurious drive?

I looked at Aura, wiggled the keys, and mouthed, "Destiny." I winked.

"Zara..." I continued. "Would you mind if Aura accompanied me?"

"No, take whoever you want with you. I just need the work done." She replied.

Well then...

I approached Aura and smirked. "What had I told you? We have Zara's permission. My instincts are never wrong. Be prepared to give in to my demands, cheesesteak."
