Bondita was sitting in his arms since a long time now. It had been a few minutes earlier, then she laid her head on hia lap. Anirudh gently caressed her hair. None of them spoke, because it wasn't needed.

The silence between them didn't seem uncomfortable, it didn't need to be broken by saying something unnecessarily. Bondita just held onto his knee and felt her heart sink into deep thoughts. Anirudh's caress on her hair, just kept her as awake and attached to this world as needed.

"Pati Babu...." She finally murmured, still resting her head on his lap.

"Hmm?" He replied, looking at the half of her face visible to him.

"Is it not wrong to want an abortion?" She asked, just like a little girl would have asked out of curiosity.

"It.... Bondita," He thought for a while and then spoke.
"There isn't an objective answer to this question. It's all subjective. It can vary among people, cultures and minds." He replied.

"What might seem right for us might be wrong for someone else." He explained.

"So is it right for us?" She asked, just as innocently as her first question.

"If you want it, it's right. If you don't, it's not." He replied as if it was the simplest thing to understand.

"If I want...?" She murmured and then sat up, looking straight into his eyes.

He tried to read her eyes, but for the first time in a long while he wasn't abel to contemplate what they wanted to convey. Her eyes looked unreadable, still a bit filled with anger and frustration.

"Why is it always me Pati Babu? You always make things sound like in our relationship, only I matter! Only I am important in this relationship and not you! Why?" She asked him, clearly feeling frustrated.

"Bondita?" He frowned at her.
"Where did this even come from?" He asked.

"You very well know, where am I coming from." She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms against her chest.
"This decision is not gonna affect only me. Ofcourse it will have an impact on my body more than anyone else's, but it is gonna affect your heart the same way!" She frowned, her voice getting heavy.

"No Bondita! It's not about that. Please do not think about this right now. You don't have to think about me in this moment! You've to take a decision being free of my wishes!" He grabbed her shoulders and spoke.

"Really?" She smiled a mocking smile.
"You really think I won't think about you? About your happiness, your wishes, your.... your tears? You think it's that easy to forget all of this and take my decision?" She swatted his hands away and look away with pain in her eyes.

"Bondita. Bondita listen to me!" He cupped her face and pulled her closer.
"You see my smile? It's what you gave me! You've given me this smile! Even if you give me tears, they are as precious! I don't care what you give me, it's always pious to me!" He said with a little tear emerging in his eye.

"You... You don't want this abortion, right?" She asked with glossy eyes.

"Bondita! I want you! You are the one I want above all! This soul, which hasn't even formed completely, I've no attachments to it! But what I'm attached to is my wife! My Bondita!" He said, touching her cheek with love, caressing her skin under his fingers.

"I-...I need more time to think, Pati Babu." She murmured, wrapping her arms round him.

"You can take as much time as you wish, Shona! Just don't take too long, it can affect your health." He said, caressing her hair as he hugged her to himself.
"B.. But please, do not get attached to the life forming inside of you. Do not it make it any more difficult for yourself, Bondita." He added and she just hummed in response.

.......

It was late at night. Bondita woke up and didn't find Anirudh beside her. She walked out of the room, calling his name in a low voice.

"Pati Babu" She called walking down the stairs.

Finding the the study lights on, she shook her head and walked inside the study. Only a few golden lamps were turned on, giving the study just enough light to glow in the darkness of the night.

Anirudh was sitting behind his table on his large office chair. It seemed a bit larger than earlier, maybe it was due to the shadows. Anirudh looked up at her as soon as she entered. His chin was rested on both his hands as he continued to look at her.

Bondita walked to him, standing in front pf him across the table. He smiled at her but that smile didn't really reach his eyes. Bondita frowned and looked down at the paper kept in front of him.

"What is this, Pati Babu?" She asked, tilting her head to glance at the paper.

"Bondita this.... Somnath handed them. You want an abortion right? Read it." He pushed the papers in front of her.

"A-Abortion?" She looked up at him and he nodded. His eyes unreadable.

"I have to sign them. I don't know why, the husband has to do this. But I need your agreement. Do you agree?" He asked, his voice stern yet so full of love for her.

"I-..." She glanced down at the papers, her eyes tearing up.

She quickly shut her eyes, forcing the tear drops to slide down her cheeks. Pushing the papers towards Anirudh, she took a deep breath.

"S-Sign them. I Ag-...Agree." She said and Anirudh signed the papers without another word.

After he had signed the papers, Anirudh stood up. His eyes were full of tears, angry tears.

"You really did this? How could you?" Anirudh questioned her, walking towards her.

"Maa! You can't kill my baby brother or sister!" Bondita turned around to see a crying Rudhi. She shook her head, trying to explain it to her daughter, but Rudhi ran and hugged Anirudh.

"This is a sin!" A female voice declared, she didn't know who's it was. Maybe it was hers? Maybe it was her inner self?

"You do not deserve having a child, Bondita." Anirudh accused her and she could just cry in response.

"Pati Babu, why are you saying that?" She cried with a frown.

"You don't deserve me, Maa! I won't live with you! I will go away!" Rudhi cried, still hugging her father.

"Puchki!" She called but Rudhi just shook her head crying.

"Bondita, you really don't deserve a family. You are a sinner!" Anirudh shouted and Bondita fell to the ground, crying.

"Maa.... You're not good." She heard a baby voice, but it wasn't Rudhi's.

It was the unborn child! The child in her womb. It was calling her. Calling their mother. She couldn't kill this baby, right? She wouldn't do that, right? That's a sin!

Bondita's head spun, all the voices from her surroundings mixed up and she could hear them altogether. Her head ached, the world around her spinning.

Suddenly, her eyes opened. She sat up looking around where she was. She was in her bedroom. The room was lit up by just a yellow lamp glowing beside her. Anirudh was still sleeping beside her.

It was a dream. A nightmare.

Her breaths were ragging, sweat beads on her forehead. She turned and picked up a glass of water. Her mind wasn't clear, she felt anxious. She needed to hold onto something, rather someone.

After she gulped down the glass of water, she turned around to look at Anirudh.

"Pati Babu," She murmured and hugged him in his sleep.

She knew he was a light sleeper and this could wake him up, but her anxiety didn't really allow her to think. She was too scared, too worried to think about anything in the moment.

As expected, Anirudh woke up. He slowly moved in his sleep and opened his eyes. Seeing Bondita's head resting on his chest, against his heart made him smile for a moment. That was before he noticed her ragged breathing.

"Bondita," He called in a low voice.
"Are you awake?" He asked.

Bondita looked up at him from her position against his chest. One look of her was enough for him to see the tears in her eyes and the worry on her face. She looked nothing less than horrified.

"What's wrong? Why are you crying?" He asked sitting up quickly, shock in his voice.

She sat up with him and he gently pulled her onto his lap. She just snuggled against his chest, shedding all her tears, fear and pain into his shirt.

"What happened?" He asked again, his hand gently caressing her hair.

"Pa-... Pati Babu, I don't want this abortion! I don't want to kill this baby!" She murmured, her voice moist with pain.
"I don't want you to hate me!" She cried.

"That's... That's fine Bondita! But why would I hate you? Can a man ever hate his soul?" He asked.

"I-... You said!" Bondita looked up at him and frowned in confusion, finally realising that it was a dream.

"A nightmare, Bondita! It was a nightmare. Don't worry!" Anirudh understood and wiped her tears, cupping her face with love.
"You do not have to think about any such thing while taking this decision, Bondita! It has to be an independent decision!" Anirudh explained.

"But... It's murder!" Bondita whispered, her voice shaky due to fear.

"It's-......" Anirudh couldn't find anything to speak against this one. She wasn't wrong for sure.

"But Bondita! If a pregnancy isn't good for your health! It's better to let go of a baby!" He said.

"But it isn't harmful for my body." She argued.

"It is harmful for your mental health, isn't it?" He asked.

"But... Pati Babu," Bondita murmured.
"I am not strong enough to handle this pain. After Rudhi, I can't even think of doing this. When I think of our own daughter, it breaks my heart thinking that we're killing our son or daughter." She spoke, her voice just a little louder than a whisper.
"I don't want to do this." She said firmly now.

"Are you sure about this, Bondita?" Anirudh didn't argue. He just searched her eyes for an answer.

She hummed with a nod in reply and licked her lips. Anirudh wrapped his arm around her back and pulled her into an embrace.

"Bondita," He spoke.
"You have to be sure about this. This is an important decision. Kids come with a whole world of responsibilities! If you think you won't be able to manage this or if in any way you... you aren't ready for this, you can tell your Pati Babu! I will always understand you Shona, promise!" He was gazing into her eyes, gently caressing her cheek.

"Pati Babu, I know you're with me. You're always here for me." She said with a small smile.
"I also know, you want this child. Even if you hide it from your own self, you cannot hide it from your Bondita."

"I-... Bondita I want you. Only your happiness! I have you and Mishti and that's all I need to live." He said, being firm about his words. He couldn't lose in front of Bondita.

"Pati Babu it's okay." She murmured, touching his face now.
"You can also want something beyond us. You can wish to be a father again! I've seen you being the world's best father to our daughter. The fatherly love of yours would manifestly want to experience fatherhood again!" She said.

Anirudh shook his head, a vague tear pooling his right eye. He opened his mouth to speak but before any word could spill out of his mouth, Bondita took his hand and led it to her belly. She placed his hand there, her hand wrapping over his.

"This.... This isn't something of my own alone. You've a part in this. You are a part of this, Pati Babu." Her words weren't accusing, they felt so full of love and authority for him.
"This decision, will involve you and me. That's final." She declared.

Anirudh let out a deep preserved breath. His hand was on her belly, where their.. c-child was residing. It was the ensue of their love. He hadn't accepted this child yet but he couldn't deny the pull he felt towards it already. It felt something very personal, something of his own.

"What do you want?" He asked straight away, his eyes expressionless for now.

Bondita bit her lip for a while, looking down. Then she looked up at him with innocent eyes.

"If this is what life has planned for us, then let be it." She said.

"But you're not ready for this!" Anirudh argued with a frown.

"But we're together. And beleive that's enough to make any situation easier!" She tightened her grip on his hand and smiled at him.
"Don't you believe together we'll be able to manage this beautifully?" She asked, searching his eyes for a look of acceptance of happiness. She found none.

"Bondita. I still want you to reconsider this thought! I would can everything in this world but you! I can give upon everything, but your smile! You're.... you're my Bondita!" He said the last part like it was obvious to understand how important she was to him.

Bondita couldn't help but feel overwhelmed. She wrapped her arms around his waist and buried her head against his chest. Her eyes tearing up with love.

"I love you, Pati Babu!" She murmured as she felt either of his hands caressing her shoulder and head.
"I want this baby. I want to be a parent again, with you. I want this baby to be a part of our family, of our life and.... a part of our love." She said, her voice wet with emotions.

Anirudh didn't speak for a while. Initially he thought of finding a clue of doubt in her decision. He found none. So he closed his eyes, tears sliding down and wetting his cheeks.

"Me too." He spoke along as a heavy breath was released from his lips.
"I want this baby, Bondita." He cried and for the first time since the evening, he had allowed himself to speak the trith of his heart.

.......

That's all for this part! ❤️ Hope you all like this!❤️

Do let me know how you feel about this one!❤️

How do you find this part? It was tough one to pen down. All the emotions came running down to the heart while I wrote this. This was just the opposite situation from their first pregnancy.

A wife convincing her husband for a child is so much easier and so Beautiful! But the vice-versa seems weirdly unbelievable and wrong.
But it isn't. A husband could also wish to be a father and that's nothing but.... NORMAL❤️

Love,
Author!❤️
