n the the drive back home, Rudhi was just excited for her friends coming to her home. She had been waiting to play with them and now she had to even tell them about her date with her Baba. She found her Baba the coolest amongst all her friends.

Reaching home, Rudhi instantly ran inside to look for her friends and Anirudh got off the car after parking it rightly.
He saw another car parked outside the Haveli.

"Bijoy Da is here?" He gasped and walked inside excitedly.

If Mr. Bijoy was here, that meant Raghav was here too. And as soon as anirudh entered the Haveli he stopped in his tracks to see Raghav and Rudhi standing near his study.

Raghav was pulling onto her cheeks yet again. She didn't deny this time but she didn't even seem happy. Anirudh shook his head and walked away to meet his Bijoy Da.

"How are you now, Princess?" Raghav asked, pulling Rudhi's cheeks.

Rudhi just rolled her eyes at him, willing to run away and play with her friends. But today she had decided to ask this boy what exactly was his problem.

"Why do you always pull my cheeks?" She asked with a frown, pulling back from him and folding her arms.

"Because you're cute." He replied as if it was the most obvious thing and Rudhi shouldn't have even cared to ask about it.

"So?" Rudhi frowned more and asked him again.

"Why can't I pull your cheeks? Do you not like that?" Now Raghav asked with hos eyebrows raised a bit sadly.

"You..." Rudhi was speaking but she saw Rudraaksh and Monishika entering from the main door behind Raghav and quickly ran to them.

"Moniii!! Rudra! I missed you both so much!" She shouted going and hugging both her friends.

Rudra was already six now and Rudhi and Moni were also near to cross the number.

"How're you Rudhi? Are you fine now? I missed you so much in school!" Rudra told sadly.

"But I missed her more and she knows that!" Moni argued and hugged Rudhi again.

"I was the one sitting alone because Rudhi wasn't coming." Rudra rolled his eyes and smiled at Rudhi.
"Are you fine now? My Maa told you had high fever. Is it good now?" He asked touching Rudhi's forehead with the back of his hand as if he was a doctor.

"Yes! I even had Kulfi with Baba today. That means I'm completely fine!" Rudhi giggled pulling them both inside the house. They had come with Monishika's driver.

As the three kids were passing by the study, Raghav was still standing there. He had been looking at Rudhi and her friends with a smile. But that smile hadn't reached his eyes.

He was missing his friends. They all had been left back in Kashi after his Baba decided to come back here. He was missing playing with his friends just like Rudhi. But this little girl's happiness was too much to take care of his grief, unknowingly perhaps.

"Who is he, Rudhi?" Rudra asked looking at Raghav.

"He is...." Rudhi pouted, not wanting to call Raghav her friends just now. And something about this five years elder boy was stopping her from calling him Dada either.
"Baba's..." She started but Raghav walled closer to the kids with a smile.

"I'm her Baba's friend's son. Raghav. What's your name sweet boy?" He asked Rudra.

"Oh! Hi Raghav Dada! I'm Rudra. Rudhi's best friend." He said shaking Raghav's hand.

"That's me okay? I am Rudhi's best friend." Monishika rolled her eyes at him and walked forward to Raghav.
"I'm Monishika." She smiled.

"You're so cute!" Raghav smiled at Monishika and patted her head cutely.

Rudhi frowned at this. Suddenly it felt so wrong to see this irritating boy praise her best friend over her!

"We should go and play!" She said loudly.

"Yes! Raghav Da, please come with us." Rudra urged and Raghav just followed with a smile.

He knew he might get bored with these kids but what else could he do here until his Baba was talking Anirudh Kaka?

Rudhi had rolled her eyes when Rudra and Monishika were being so friendly with Raghav. He was so bad! She didn't know why but he was just not good!
............

Until the guests had some snacks, Anirudh excused himself to go and quickly freshen up.
Walking up to his room, he pushed the doors, but they were locked.

"Bondita? Are you inside?" He called and he heard the chime of Bondita's anklets as she walked to the door and unlocked it.

"Oh so you're back?" She asked squinting her eyes at him.
"Where had you been all afternoon?" She asked, crossing her arms against her chest.

"Uh.... A date.." Anirudh just murmured looking at her fearfully as if he had been cheating upon her! Bondita wanted to laugh at his expression but she maintained her stern one.

"A date?" She gasped dramatically.
"YOU WENT ON A DATE PATI BABU?" She asked angrily.

"I.. I can explain!" Anirudh raised his hands, showing his palms to her as if he had already put his "hands - up" in front of his wife.

"How will you explain this?" She looked at him fiery eyes and turned to walk away.

Anirudh was quick enough to get hold of her elbow and pull her back to him.

"Like this!" He muttered under his breath, a smirk playing upon his lips as he slid his hands around Bondita's waist.

"You're not allowed to suspect your husband of cheating, Mrs. Bondita Roy Chowdhary." He spoke brining his face so close to her.

Bondita's breaths caught in her throat as she continued to look at him with a stern face.

"You're not allowed to go on secret dates with another girl, without informing your wife Mr. Anirudh Roy Chowdhary." She replied him in his tone, making his heart flutter.

Anirudh wanted to smile and kiss her then and there after she used his trick on him so smartly, but he didn't. He maintained his stern expression and raised his eyebrows at her.

"I guess I am allowed to do this with that one particular girl." He replied with a smirk.
"I've permission I suppose." And bit his lower lip.

"But you replaced me!" Bondita whined, her eyebrows forming an innocent frown.

She was finally behaving like herself now! Anirudh thought and chuckled, pulling her yet closer to him.

Kissing her cheek he murmured against her soft skin, "You can never be replaced, Shona!" And kissed her again.

"Fine! Now go and freshen up quickly, your guests are waiting." She giggled, parting away from him.

"Wanna come along?" He asked, pulling onto her pallu, but she snatched it from his hand quickly.

"No! Your guests are waiting downstairs!!" She teased and ran away giggling, not before kissing him on the cheek as well.

Anirudh was sitting in the drawing room with Bijoy and other men. They all were having a great time discussing the country situations and politics. The women were sitting in the dining area, having their tea here.

"I should go and check if they all need something else." Bondita stood up and walked to the drawing room.

She could hear her Pati Babu laughing along with others and it made her smile. Walking to the main area, she asked them all if they needed something.

Anirudh had looked up at her and smiled with a sense of happiness and pride in his eyes. Afterall his Bondita was always so responsible about things. How she took care of everything was just so adorable at times.

"Bondita, you go and sit with the ladies. I'll take care if we need something." He smiled at her as he said.

Bondita just looked at him with a smile and nodded before walking away to the kids to see them as well. They had been playing in the backyard while their parents talked.

"Rudhi catch her quickly!" Rudra shouted as Rudhi ran behind Monishika.

"Okay okay! Time please!" Bondita laughed walking in between their game.

"Maa!" Rudhi whined as Monishika hid behind Bondita happily.
"I was about to catch her!" She said with a pout.

"Aww sorry!" Bondita pinched her nose with a smile.
"But now you all tell me, do you want to eat something?" She asked.

"No we're not hungry." Rudra said obediently.

"Are you sure?" She asked everyone.
"Raghav what about you? Are you getting bored?" She turned to Raghav.

"No Kakima. I'm fine. Thankyou." He replied with a smile.

"Okay then, you all can continue!" She smiled at them.
"I'll go." Turning around she walked away.

As she was walking, near a bench lying in the backyard, she felt her head spin. She didn't feel a headache till now but it felt like suddenly her eyes were contracting, the vision becoming blur and shady. She quickly clenched the bench beside her and trued to shake her head out of this dizziness.

"Ru... Rudhi," Bondita called out, her voice faint.
"C.. Call Baba." Her voice was just a whisper before she fell onto the bench beside her, her eyes giving in and closing as she passed out.

"Maa!" Rudhi who was playing and hadn't heard a word from Bondita till now, ran to her in fear.
"What happened, Maa? Open your eyes!" She cried, trying to shake Bondita out of her sleep.

"Princess go call your Baba!" Raghav shouted as he also ran to call his Maa and the other ladies.

Rudra and Moni were just standing there, scared about what suddenly happened to Rudhi's Mom. Rudra walked to Moni and held her hand, both of them feeling so scared.

In a moment or so, Anirudh came rushing followed by the others. He looked at Bondita, panicked but still he tried to maintain a composure in front of Rudhi atleast. He didn't want to scare her.

Without uttering another word, he quickly picked up Bondita in his arms and ran to the nearest guest room. He didn't have the time to go upstairs to their room afterall.

"Bondita! Bondita please wake up!" He urged, feeling warm tears enter his eyes.

Shubra Maa had taken all the kids with her to another room. Rudra and Monishika were sent back home safely while Rudhi and Raghav sat their, feeling scared but not as worried. Why would they worry when their parents told them everything was fine?

"What happened to my Maa?" Rudhi asked Shubra Maa and the old lady just smiled at her.

"She's absolutely fine! Doctor Babu will come and check her. You don't have to worry when your Baba is with Maa right?" She consoled her granddaughter lovingly and Rudhi just nodded with a smile and hugged her tightly.

Anirudh had been sitting beside Bondita while Somnath checked her pulse rate and heartbeats.

"Dada, Boudi seems completely fine. Her heart rate is normal." Somnath removed his stethoscope and informed.

"But she's not fine Som! She's unconscious!" Anirudh yelled at his brother.

"Dada please calm down!" Somnath replied touching Anirudh's hand.
"I think we should call a lady doctor from my clinic. If it's what I think, I need more conformation." Saying this, Somnath quickly headed out of the room, not even letting Anirudh ask anything further.

The female doctor was conducting her checkup inside while everyone was asked to wait outside in the drawing room. Their faces were all worried but still hoping that Bondita wasn't too ill to be treated.

Only Anirudh and Somnath were standing outside Bondita's room, waiting for the doctor to come out. Anirudh was pacing outside, hoping that everything was just fine and his Bondita just fainted because she was tired.

His thoughts didn't get a chance to take any further turns because the doors of the  room opened and doctor walked out of the room quietly. Closing the doors again, she turned to look at Somnath and Anirudh.

"What is it Doctor?" Somnath asked.

"She's fine! Absolutely healthy. It's common to faint and pass out in this condition." She informed with a smile.
"I gave her a medicine and she'll be well in an hour or so."

"In this condition?" Anirudh frowned. "What condition are you talking about?" He asked raising an eyebrow.

"Oh! Is it that you weren't aware? It's been more than a month so I thought you'd be knowing that she's pregnant." The doctor replied.

"She's what?" Anirudh almost yelled.
"P.. Pregnant? How?"

"Dada?" Somnath asked him with frown, looking at him like his question was absolutely stupid. Because it was!

"You're mistaken doctor She isn't pregnant. She can't be!" He shook his head, not willing to believe this statement.

"But she is!" The doctor looked at him with a weird expression.
She's already a month into her pregnancy.

"I think he's in a state of shock." Somnath smiled nervously at the doctor and led her out to his car so that driver could drop her back to the clinic.

"No! No no no noooo!" Anirudh shook his head, squatting down on the floor while his back was pressed against the wall.
"Bondita can't be pregnant! She doesn't want to!" He buried his head into his hands, still shaking his head in denial.

"What will I say to her? How will she react when she knows this?" He was horrified of his own questions. Because even if he looked like he was wondering about her reaction, he knew his Bondita well enough to already know how will she react.

He knew well enough that she'll feel broken in the heart, but accept this coming baby because of him. She'll accept the baby for his happiness! For the sake of the family! She wouldn't ever question him about anything but silently accept what the destiny held for her.

But why? Why did this even happen in the first place? Why did he let this happen? Why wasn't he enough careful earlier? It was all his fault! Again! He always did this. It was just him who always made his Bondita suffer!

Thinking all of this, tears emerged in Anirudh's eyes. Pregnancy wasn't a cold or a cough which will go away in a a couple of days. It wasn't even viral fever which will last a week or so. It was the creation of a new life, which is gonna stay with them forever. It will affect their whole lives. Her whole life, her body and her mind too!

He had no right to hide this from her! No right at all! He had to tell this to her and be strong enough to hold her against himself if she broke into shatters! He had to be strong enough to handle his Bondita. He has to be their for her before anything else. He will take care of her.

Thinking this, he quickly wiped his face and ran out of the lobby first. Running down the stairs he reached outside the Haveli, where Somnath was still talking to the lady doctor.

"Som!" He called out, his breathing uneven due to all the running.

Somnath instantly bid a farewell to the doctor and walked to Anirudh as the car rolled away.

"Dada you don't seem happy about Boudi's pregnancy. Is anything wrong?" He asked keeping a gentle hand onto Anirudh's shoulder.

"Bo.. Bondita.." Anirudh murmured, closing his eyes painfully as he caught his breath back.
"She doesn't.... want... this child." He told, looking at Somnath with a pained expression.

"What? Why?" Som asked, almost yelling in shock.

"What do you mean why?" Anirudh frowned at him as if it shouldn't have been a question coming from his you ger brother.
"She wants to focus upon her career and even if that's not the case, it's absolutely her choice! Who are we to question this, Som? It's her body which is gonna suffer and thus it's totally her decision!" He scolded his brother.

"Oh... Okay. Yes you're right. But what now?" Somnath asked pressing his lips together.

"I'll talk to her first. Do not let anyone know about it until she decides." Anirudh instructed and started walking back inside he Haveli.

"Dada!" Som called from behind and Anirudh instantly stopped in his tracks, still not turning around completely.
"Boudi can have an abortion... if she wishes to. It's possible only during the initial months." Somnath informed, feeling sad.

Though he was a doctor, he never believed in abortions. Life wasn't something that should be stopped from blooming afterall! But obviously, nothing mattered more than his Dada and Boudi.

Anirudh just nodded and walked inside the Haveli, straight to the room where Bondita was sleeping.

Closing the doors behind him he sat beside her on the bed. She was still sleeping soundly. Laying onto her back while both her hands were resting onto her belly.

Her belly?

It was there, right? Their baby!

No! Just a small bundle of cells which will be removed away if Bondita wished. Anirudh corrected his thoughts, not wanting to have any attachments with the life living inside Bondita's womb.

He looked up at her face, the calmness it held. It was just the calm before the storm. She wouldn't be so peaceful when she wakes up and he knew this. He slowly raised his hand and patted her forehead, gently caressing her hair.

"No matter what Bondita. Your Pati Babu loves you. Don't forget this." He whispered, placing a kiss onto her forehead and sitting up straight.

His eyes travelled to her belly and he just wanted to touch her there, to feel the baby's presence. But he did not. He couldn't accept the child until Bondita did that.

It wasn't his child until it was Bondita's baby first. He won't love it until Bondita did first.

Thinking this he sighed and walked to the other side of the bed, sitting beside Bondita under the bed covers. He was waiting for her to wake up so he could talk to her peacefully.
