"It's time to make the magic happen!"
Time passes the quickest when life's full of happiness. It always seems to run away as we try to hold upon things and people we love. It makes us experience the best of memories, but snatches the moments away quicker than we can hold upon them.
Three years had passed already. Rudhi was now four years old and Somnath and Vibhavari had a son who was named Vansh. The little boy was three years old too. Batuk and Mallika were married too, but being still very young, they were nowhere planning a baby soon.
Anirudh and Bondita had been in Siliguri for a month now. They'd come here for sone urgent case Anirudh had to fight. He had brought Rudhi and Bondita here to spend some time with them and let them enjoy a long vacation in the beauty and serenity of Siliguri.
"PUCHKIIII! Enough of your playing, Baba's home!" Bondita shouted as she took Anirudh's briefcase from his hands and walked with him to the Drawing room Sofa.
"Where's she?" Anirudh asked, sipping onto the glass of water she had handed him.
"Still busy playing?"
"Ofcourse! What else does she do all the time? Though she misses everyone but I convinced her that we'll go back hone in a few days." Bondita told with a smile, pulling out his overcoat.
Anirudh just smiled and sank into the sofa, closing his eyes, being so tired. That was when a four year old Rudhi came running to her Baba. She had a chalk and duster in her hands.
"Babaa!!!" Rudhi jumped into Anirudh's lap and Bondita just glared at her before smiling at her innocent face.
Anirudh opened his eyes and instantly wrapped his arms around his daughter, planting a gentle kiss on her forehead.
"What was my princess upto?" He asked, wiping off the chalk dust from her cheek and nose.
"Guess! Guess!!" Rudhi grinned, raising her eyebrows at him. She quickly hid the chalk duster behind her back.
"Hmm! Let me think!" Anirudh touched his chin in pseudo- thinking.
"You were drawing on the blackboard!" He exclaimed, widening his eyes.
"How do you know?!" Rudhi gasped, her eyes wide in shock.
"Magic?!" She asked, keeping the chalk and duster aside.
"Ofcourse! Baba knows Magic!" Bondita giggled, eyeing her dramatic husband and daughter.
"He does?" Rudhi asked and Anirudh just chuckled at her sweet innocence.
"Show me too, Baba!" She urged with a pout.
"Later! But first show me what was my Mishti drawing on the blackboard?" He asked, pinching her little nose.
"I was not drawing!" She told proudly, jumping off his lap and leading him to the study room where the blackboard was kept.
"So what was Ms. Rudhanshi Roy Chowdhary doing?" Anirudh asked as he held onto Bondita's hand, pulling her along.
"I was teaching!" She told, making her parents sit onto the couch and walking to the board with pride.
"See!" She showed him the board.
She didn't know how to write, but she knew how to speak the alphabets of both Hindi and English.
Rudhi had drawn some undeciphered lines on the board and had seated some of her soft roys and dolls in front.
"I was teaching क... ख...ग...!" She told showing them.
"And what are these soft toys doing here?" Bondita demanded.
"How many times do I tell you not to mess up with Baba's study?" She scolded.
"Ohho Maa!" Rudhi hit her own forehead dramatically, making both her parents press a smile on their lips.
"These are my studu.. Stu... Studenss!!!" She stammered.
"Ohho Maa!" Anirudh imitated his three year old, looking at Bondita and walking to Rudhi.
"You don't know anything, they are Mishti's studenss!!"
"No Mishti!" Rudhi glared at him, making him raise his eyebrows.
"Madam!" She demanded.
"Oh yeah?" Anirudh raised his eyebrows.
"Madam, Mishti!" He giggled, picking Rudhi up in his arms and attacking her face with a million kisses.
"Baba!" Rudhi laughed loudly, trying to escape this attack, and her Baba laughed along.
"I'll get your coffee ready." Bondita told, chuckling at them.
"No wait!" Anirudh called, letting go of his daughter as the little girl ran outside the study, laughing.
Anirudh walked to Bondita and she just looked at him with a smile.
"I need my kisses from you too!" He smirked, pulling her into his embrace as she grinned clutching onto his suspenders.
"Pati Babu, Puchki will come back to take her dolls." Bondita murmured, looking into his eyes as he touched his nose to hers.
Bondita shivered at the cold touch of his nose and clutched onto his collars tightly.
"That's enough time for me to get atleast one of my kisses!" Anirudh whispered, his voice so deep and husky that it was making her knees go weak.
Saying this, he captured her lips for a gentle yet passionate kiss. Bondita kissed him back happily as he held onto her waist, his cold fingers playing over her warm skin.
They kissed for a while, until they heard the sound Rudhi's anklets running near to them. Bondita pushed him instantly, breathing heavily to calm down her erratic heartbeats.
"I'll see you tonight!" Anirudh smirked with a loving smile, walking out of the study to freshen up.
Bondita just stood there, blushing slightly as Rudhi was busy picking up her dolls and running out of the study to start a new game.
......
"Arey Vibha Bahu! Come here, take Vansh with you!" Trilochan Babu shouted as the little boy in his arms was busy throwing things all around the room.
"Kaka Dadu!" He yelled happily.
"Hmm hmm! I'm your Kaka Dadu, but first stop throwing my papers all around!" Trilochan Babu scolded him with love, but ended up smiling at his sweet face.
"Kaka Sasurji you don't worry, I'll take him with me!" Vibhavari came running to the room as she took her naughty son into her arms.
"You might be busy, Bahu. I'm sorry to disturb you, but I really need to clean up this mess and go out for some work." Trilochan Babu smiled, ruffling Vansh's hair.
"Don't worry, I'll manage! Otherwise, I'll send him with Maa to the temple. He never acts naughty in front of her." Vibha laughed.
"Ofcourse! He's his Dida's tail, afterall!" Trilochan Babu huffed.
"KSJ!" Mallika came running to the room, trying to handle her saree.
"What's it Mallika Bahu? Why are you always running?" He asked, shaking his head.
"When are Anirudh Dada and Bondita Boudi returning from Siliguri?" She asked, her breaths ragging.
"Oh yes, Kaka Sasurji! They've been away for almost a month now. When are they coming back? We all are missing them so badly." Vibhavari added, clutching tightly onto Vansh's hand.
"They'll take another month. Anirudh has some more paper work to complete and you know how long these British Officers take to complete normal tasks too!" Trilochan Babu informed.
"ONE MORE MONTH?!!" Vansh gasped.
"It means One More Month that I'll be away from Rudhi Didi!" He almost cried.
"I know you miss her, Baby, but she'll come soon!" Mallika pulled his cheeks, making him pout.
"I'm not a baby anymore, Chachi!" He huffed with pride.
"I'm a big boy!"
"Ofcourse!" She chuckled, picking him up in her arms and walking away with Vibhavari.
Trilochan Babu proceeded to arrange back all his Zamindaari papers and left for some work.
.......
Rudhi had made a few friends here, mainly the children of the house helps. She was really missing her little brother, but her Baba and Maa were always here to keep her busy.
"No Maa! I don't want to go to school!" Rudhi huffed, sitting onto the dinner table adjacent to her Baba.
"Mishti! You'll not shout like that at your Maa!" Anirudh glared at her with a stern look but she just pouted at him.
"So tell her not to send me to school!" She cried, folding her arms angrily.
"Who's telling you to go to school now? I said you'll be joining school once we reach Tulsipur!" Bondita sighed. Both her husband and daughter were made of the same soil.
"But I'll still not go alone! Vansh will accompany me!" The little girl demanded.
"Why will he go to school so early? He's just three!" Bondita argued.
"I'm also just four, Maa!" Rudhi cried.
"Will you both stop?!" Anirudh touched his forehead.
"No more fighting over this! We'll discuss this later!" He scolded.
"Eat your food!" Bondita told Rudhi as the little girl pouted and stuffed a morsel into her own mouth.
"Atleast you can act wiser, Bondita. She's a kid, you shouldn't fight with her." Anirudh murmured, holding Bondita's hand above the table.
"You always scold me. Great! Don't ever say anything to her!" She huffed, pulling back her hand.
Rudhi laughed loudly as she saw her Baba's smile drop at her Maa's anger.
"Yeyy!! Maa got angry from you Baba!" She clapped her hands, laughing happily.
"Now she won't talk to you!" She giggled.
"We'll see what a Handi of Roshogullas will do for that!" Anirudh smirked, raising his hand for a high five towards Rudhi.
Rudhi happily jumped and smashed her hand against his with a giggle. Her two little ponytails jiggling as she did so.
"Roshogulla?" Bondita looked at him with a gimmer in her eyes.
"For me?!" She asked.
"Ofcourse, for you Maa!" Rudhi laughed, running to her mother and hugging her tightly.
"I'm sorry, I won't fight!" She smiled after pecking her mother's cheek.
"It's okay! I love you!" Bondita kissed her cheek and hugged her back tightly.
"I'm here too!" Anirudh frowned, folding his arms as both Bondita and Rudhi giggled and stood up to hug him tightly.
"We love you too!!" They laughed, kissing either of his cheeks.
