Family, where life begins
And love never ends!❤️

It was another regular evening, after everyone had returned from their works and were resting in their rooms.

Anirudh and Batuk were in his study, discussing some paper work related to Trilochan Babu's lands. Rudhi was in the drawing room, playing with her grandparents. Vibhavari was upstairs in her room, resting after she had returned from the clinic. Bondita had strictly prohibited her entry into the kitchen after she returned from work.

......

"Are you sure, Som Dada?!" Bondita frowned worriedly as Somnath stood at the kitchen door, talking to her with a tensed look.

"Yes Boudi! I've checked all the reports thrice! It's really worrying me now..." He told as Bondita was listening to him and preparing the dinner simultaneously.

"Okay.... But is it really something to worry about?" She asked.
"Can't we do something for this?"

"Boudi it's not a big issue. Many women do face it. But the thing is.... I'm scared!" He told folding his arms across his chest and leaning onto the door.

"Dada, you don't worry! I'll take care of my Devrani in the best way possible!" Bondita smiled, walking to him, as she was done with the little chores.
"You trust me, right?" She asked with smile.

"Ofcourse, Boudi!" He sighed.

"Then don't worry, Doctor Saahab!" Bondita pulled his cheeks with a pout, giggling.
"Just tell me what all must be taken care of! We won't let anything happen to my Devrani and our baby!" She smiled and Somnath just wrapped his arms around her, resting his head onto her shoulder.

"I trust you, Boudi!" He whispered as Bondita patted his back lovingly.
"I hope this complication doesn't affect her health."

"It won't, Dada! We just need to talk to her and tell her everything truly. Only then would she be able to take care of herself." She smiled as he broke the hug and nodded thoughtfully.

"Hmm, you're right!" He replied.

"Okay, come on! Let's go to the study, Pati Babu and Batuk asked for coffee." She smiled, picking up the coffee tray, she had prepared earlier.

"Give this to me." Somnath took the tray and walked to the study as Bondita followed with a smile.

"Come in, Bondita!" Anirudh called as  he heard the tinkling of her anklets.

"It's Somnath Roy Chowdhary!" Somnath huffed proudly, entering before Bondita.

"Oh! When did you start wearing Payal?" Batuk teased, picking up his cup of coffee.

"Shut up!" Somnath slapped his head lightly.
"But I need to say, Dada can decipher the sound of Boudi's anklets too!" Somnath smirked raising his eyebrows and Anirudh just blushed, licking his lips bashfully.

"Where's Mishti?" Anirudh asked Bondita, sipping onto his coffee.
"Haven't seen her since evening."

"Busy playing with her Dadus and Dida!" Batuk giggled, closing his file and leaning back onto the chair.

"Okay that's still fine, but why in the world are you closing these files?" Anirudh asked him sternly and Batuk quickly opened them again.

"Khadoos Barrister!" He murmured against his cup.

"Heard it!" Anirudh replied, signing a paper.
"Focus on your work, Mr. Roy chowdhary, or else I'll not let you get married any sooner!" Anirudh threatened his little brother.

"Pati Babu!" Bondita scolded. "Stop scolding my Devar!" She said, wrapping her arms around Batuk's neck from behind.

"That's my Boudi!" Batuk smiled, holding her hands and sticking out his tongue at Anirudh.

"Enough of...." Anirudh raised his finger to speak, but was interrupted.

"BAHU! ANIRUDH!" Binoy Babu called from the hall.
"COME HERE! FAST!"

The four of them instantly stood up and ran out to the hall.

"Mishtiii!" Anirudh squealed in excitement.

Rudhi was literally running around the house, as Binoy Babu was chasing her and Kaka and Maa laughed happily.

"My Babyy!" Somnath called and walked to her, kneeling down and extended his arms at her.

Rudhi laughed and ran into his embrace as Anirudh and Bondita followed her.

"Kaakaa!!" She shouted happily, kissing his cheek.

"My princess!" Anirudh squealed too, kissing her cheek lovingly.
"Now you'll run all around the house, won't you?" He asked, cupping the baby's face in his palms lovingly.

"Amar Shonamoni!" Bondita touched the edge of her own kohl painted eyes and smudged some of it behind Rudhi's ear.

......

"But Kaka, wouldn't it be quite late?" Anirudh questioned, reading the disappointment on his little brother's face.
"Can't we get them married any sooner?"

"No Anirudh. This is the quickest it can happen and Mr. Sahni has agreed too!" Trilochan Babu told.

"Fine then, let it be after six months itself." Anirudh hust sighed as he got up along with Trilochan Babu, who went straight to his bedroom.

"Dada!" Batuk walked upto his brother, feeling sad now.

"I know you wanted this quicker, Batuk! But weddings do take time and there's a lot that the families and elders need to look after." Anirudh explained.
"Infact, it's good! Mallika and you would get some more time to know each other, to explore your love and this courtship period of this relationship!"

"Hmm.... Maybe you're right, Dada. But you and Boudi never had this time to explore this phase of your relationship. Still, you're so happy together! I've not seen a better couple than yours!" Batuk pouted, being genuinely curious.

"Batuk!" Anirudh just chuckled.
"Bondita and I had gotten the chance to have and explore a Platonic relationship! A relationship where there's no romance, but immense love! Where there are no expectations, only sacrifices!....... Not all relationships start this way but in my view, they should." Her explained.

"I'll need a bir experience to understand this theory of yours!" Batuk chuckled as they both retired for their respective rooms.

........

"Is it so?" Anirudh asked, sinking into deep thoughts.

Bondita, whi sat beside him on the bed, patting a sleeping Rudhi, just nodded.

"But there's not much to worry about! Somnath Dada saud that he'll talk to Vibha, she'll be fine if she's strong." Bondita told, covering Rudhi with a little duvet.

"But why did it even happen in the first place, Bondita? I'm not scared, but just worried for my sister." He sighed.

"There might be reasons. Mostly, women don't take good care of themselves. But in Vibhavari's case, it's probably congenital. She has a weak uterus, that might cause issues. Still, we will take all necessary precautions." She assured him with a smile.

"Right." He replied stretching his arm to hold her hand over Rudhi's sleeping frame and she turned around to switch of the single table lamp in the room.

"Good Night, Pati Babu!" She murmured, kissing the knuckles of his hand.

"Good Night, Jaan." He answered, almost sleeping.

......

One Afternoon, when Bondita was at home and everyone was out for work, Trilochan Babu was playing with Rudhi in the garden. She was running around, chasing a little butterfly that fascinated her.

"Daa.. Duu!!" She yelled happily, clapping her hands as he ran behind her, laughing whole heartedly.

"Duti, come here! I'm tired now!" He huffed, sitting down on the chair. His breath was ragging and he was extremely tired, still wanted to play with his princess.

"Dadu! Ghora!" Rudhi walked upto him, tugging onto his silk kurta.

"Give me five minutes, Shonamoni!" He spoke, still breathing heavily.

Rudhi just sat down on the ground, playing with the soil. She loved immersing her hands in the cool brown soil which probably looked like chocolate!

Will it taste that way too?

Rudhi was wondering as she saw her Maa coming down the stairs to the garden with a tray in her hands. Bondita smiled at her Kaka Sasurji while he sat up straight, taking the tray from her hands.

"Puchki always makes you so tired, doesn't she?" Bondita chuckled, pouring his evening tea into the tea cup and forwarding it to him.

"No Bahu! She is my little..." Trilochan Babu stopped midway, his eyes catching a burn on Bondita's hand.
"What is this? Show me!" He quickly held her hand, keeping the cup down.

"Oh this. My hand just brushed with the stove." She replied with a pout, trying to pull back her hand.

"And what did you apply? When did this happen? Is it paining a lot?' Her Kaka Sasurji just bombarded her with questions and she could see where Anirudh got his protectiveness from.

"Kaka Sasurji, it's just a small...." She couldn't complete as Trilochan Babu instantly raised his hand, quietening her and yelled to call a maid

"Bring ne the Chandan Lep, quick!" He ordered and the maid instantly obeyed.

"You don't take care of yourself! I hate this so much, Bahu!" He scolded, rubbing the paste gently onto her hand.

"Kaka Sasurji, you really don't need to!" Bondita smiled with moistened eyes.

"I know you might not consider me your father after what all happened a few months back. But I truly care for you and...."  Bondita didn't let him speak as she hugged him tightly, shaking her head in denial.

"Please don't ever say this again, Kaka Sasurji!" Her voice broke.
"I can never even think of you any lesser than a father! You'll always be my father after Baba! I love you so much!" She spoke, a lone tear escaping her eye.

"Bahu your heart's of gold! I'm not the same, I've still not forgiven myself. Everytime I look upto you, I feel a sudden pain of guilt in my heart. It still saddens me that I was the one who made your heart ache! It was me!" He replied, shutting his eyes tight and feeling so sad as he stroked Bondita's head lovingly.

"Indeed it was you!" Bondita spoke, raising her head and wiping off her tears.
"It was you who has always loved me so much, that I never felt deprived of Baba's love! It was you who made me feel that I have the best family!  It id still you who loves me more than someone would love their daughter, and its still you who takes care of me just like my Baba does!" She smiled and Trilochan Babu's eyes moistened as he touched her head with love.

"You're precious, Bahu!" He murmured, patting her head.

"You're more precious!" She replied with a smile and sat up straight, handing him a new tea cup and pouring fresh tea from the tea pot.

"Maaaa!" Rudhi yelled suddenly, forwarding her muddy hand.

"PUCHKI!" Bondita almost shouted as she saw Rudhi's lips stained with the soil.
"You're such a naughty girl!" She rushed to the baby, picking her up in her arms and cleaning her mouth.

Trilochan Babi just laughed, "It's okay, Bahu! All children eat soil when they're little! It's okay, it won't harm her!" He laughed, making Bondita look at him with a pout.

"But still, Kaka Sasurji!" She huffed, cleaning Rudhi's hands and frock off the mud.

"Whatever it is! You're not scolding my princess, you hear me?" He huffed back, standing up and walking away with Rudhi as the baby stuck out her tongue at her mother and Bondita just giggled, walking inside the house.
