Ch- 59, Forever Like This

"I love you now, and I'll love you until the day I die, and even if there's a life after, I'll love you then too!"

It was night time, when Bondita was in her room with Rudhi. She was changing her daughter's clothes for the night, already wearing her night cotton saree.

"Puchki is tired?" She baby talked to Rudhi, raising her eyebrows with a wide smile.
"We'll sleepy sleepy!" She giggled.

"Mm... Maaa!" Rudhi squeaked happily, throwing her arms and legs in the air, playing happily.
"Puski!" She repeated what her mother called her all the time.

"Yess, Ms. Puchki!" Bondita laughed, kissing her little nose.
"My sweet Babyyy!"

She stood up after dressing Rudhi and bent down to pick up the toys Rudhi had scattered all around the room.

"Where's your Baba, by the way?" Bondita asked Rudhi, as the baby was playing happily with one of her Maa's bangle.

"Baa.. Baa!" Rudhi shouted happily, looking at the bedroom door.
"Baabaa Ghummi!" She giggled.

"No, your Baba hasn't gone out!" Bondita replied with a smile. She loved talking to her baby.
"He's in the study."

Soon Anirudh walked inside the room, silently, gesturing Rudhi to stay quite. Bondita was busy folding a few clothes near the bed. He quickly walked to her and placed his hands on Bondita's eyes.

"Pa..." She started, but quickly realising that she was ignoring him, she stayed quite.

"Mishti! Tell your Maa that Baba won't let her go if she doesn't talk to him." Anirudh teased Bondita as Rudhi laughed, clapping her hands happily.

"Rudhi! Tell your Baba that Maa isn't so easy to defeat!" Bondita smirked proudly and Anirudh just chuckled at her cuteness.

"We'll see!" He smiled, bending down to place a soft kiss on her cheek, just beside her ear.

"P... Puchki! Tell your Baba not to... not to touch me..." Bondita spoke with difficulty as her breaths started to rag.

"Baaa... Baa!" Rudhi laughed, clapping her hands.

"Shhh! Don't disturb my Mishti!" Anirudh whispered in her ear, his warm breath tickling her ear.

Anirudh smiled a bit, his hands still covering her eyes. His heart fluttered as the sweet smell of Bondita's hair intoxicated him.

"I... I have work to do!" Bondita suddenly murmured, freeing herself from his hold and walked a few steps away from him.

She was breathing heavily, trying to calm her heart down. Anirudh sighed, his heart hammering too.
But before Bondita sould walk away, he looked down and spoke, audible enough to make her hear.

"I'm going to Siliguri!" He announced, making Bondita look up at him.
"For a month!" He added, smiling sadly.

As he told this, Bondita's heart twitched. She had been angry with him for a few days now, and that had already kept them away from each other. She didn't want to part with him again.

That too, for a whole Month! How will she survive?!

Anirudh said, his eyes truly looking sad. He didn't look like he was lying, even a bit. Not getting any reply from her, he turned around to leave, feeling sad.

That was when Bondita held his arm and hugged him tightly from behind.

"You're lying, right?!" She murmured, her face muscles straining as she tried to control her tears.

"No Bondita! I ain't!" Anirudh said and turned around to look at her almost teary eyes. He finally smiled a bit and pinched her little nose, which was now red as a cherry.
"But only for a week, Jaan!" She kissed her cheek with a smile.

But Bondita's expressions didn't. A Month or a week! It was the same for her! She didn't want to part with him, even for a day.

"Pati Babu!" She looked at him, tears forming at the corner of her eyes.

"Please don't cry, Shona!" His eyes softened as he wiped her tears, even before they rolled down her cheeks.
"It's just the matter of a week! And it's after a whole week!"

Bondita shook her head and hugged him tightly. Rudhi was still busy, playing with her toys. Anirudh smiled a bit and rubbed Bondita's back lovingly.

"Please stop crying, Bondita." He said softly, stroking her hair with his gentle fingers.

Cupping her fave, he lifted it to look at him and bent down, touching his forehead to hers.

"Take me with you too!" She pouted her lips, her vision blurred due to the salty lakes formed in her eyes.

"I wish I could! But it isn't possible." Anirudh said, kissing her nose softly.
"And even Vibha isn't here too! You need to stay back, right?"

"This isn't the true reason, I know!" Bondita pouted her lips again.
"What are you hiding, Pati Babu?!"

Anirudh lifted his face to look at her with shock. His Bondita had always been smart, and so she did today. He had already thought of such a possibility. He obviously had to be well- prepared.

"Bondita!..." He started.
"You love me right?" He asked, making her nod instantly.

"Ofcourse! But..." She started to speak. He always made things simple by such questions and then she would get tangled in his talks.

"There's no But, my Love!" He said and kissed her forehead.
"Have faith in your husband.... and I promise, I won't crack it a bit!"

Bondita, ofcourse was left wordless now. How could she ever question him when he looked so truthful?
She just sighed and smiled at him.

"Now, shall we continue what we left mid- way?" He teased her and she couldn't help but look away shyly.

"Pati Babu!..." She murmured, looking away.

"Oh yeah!" Anirudh suddenly exclaimed.
"You lost, my dear wife! I won your attention!" He laughed and Bondita just shook her head with a smile.

"All my attention is always yours, Pati Babu!" She giggled and hugged him tightly.
"I don't want to part with you." She added.

Anirudh could instantly sense the sadness in her tone, but he was helpless. He couldn't do much for his wife, this time.

"Bonditaaaa!" He called her, making her sit on the bed corner.
"You're my Queen, right? And I won't see my Highness sad!" He said and kissed her knuckles softly.

His lips brushed to her fingers ever so gently, tickling her like a feather.
Her breaths were getting deep, by each passing second.

He trailed his kisses from her knuckles to her wrists, and softly kissing her bangles, he looked at them with love.
His wife loved her bangles so much, and that made his heart shine like those circles of glass.

"You got them!" Bondita told him with a smile, looking at her beautiful, purple glass bangles.

"Are they?" He looked at her in surprise.

"Yes! They're the one's you bought for me from the train, during our second trip to Shimla!" She smiled at him, as he looked at her so happily.

"You still have them?!" He asked, raising hid eyebrows in happiness.

"Ofcourse! I can never break my bangles. Nor does my husband break them.... At night. He's so gentle with me!" She said, pressing a smile on her lips.

"Oh yeahhh?!" Anirudh laughed, a crimson blush touching his cheeks gently.

"Such a sweetheart you are!" He said and sat beside her, hugging her tightly.

That was when Rudhi lifted up her head to look at her Maa Baba. She smiled excitedly, before quickly crawling to them and tugging at her Baba's Kurta.

"Baa.. Baa!!" She called and Anirudh turned to pick her up in his arms.

"Ofcourse! You're here again!" Bondita rolled her eyes with a laugh.

"That doesn't stop her Baba, though!" Anirudh whispered, his voice deep in love, as he trailed his fingers onto her waist.

Rudhi was busy playing with a little teddy bear, resting her back on her Baba's chest.

Her Baba was busy too! In a.... Few other things.

Bondita looked at him, wide- eyed and he just inched closer, pecking her softly trembling lips. She closed her eyes as he deepened the kiss and held her waist a little tighter.

It felt so serene to see her Pati Babu kiss her with Rudhi still on his lap! Bondita wanted the moment to stop, then and there. Forver like this...

.....
A couple of days passed soon. I t was early morning when Anirudh was taking a walk in their garden. Everyone else was busy with their own chores and his little princess was still sleeping.

"Did you talk to Som?!" Anirudh asked Batuk the morning, walking briskly in the garden.

"Yes, I did!" Batuk replied, getting out of breath as he found it hard to catch up with his Dada.
"They'll be leaving for here, tomorrow."

"Good!" Anirudh smiled, still walking briskly.

"Dada slower! It's a morning walk. And I'm here, running behind you!" Batuk breathed heavily.

"Where's your stamina, young boy?" Anirudh patted his back with a laugh, stopping for his brother.

"You're too quick!" Batuk replied, finally catching his breath.

"Excuses!" Anirudh rolled his eyes, earning a glare from his little brother.
"You should start exercising daily, Batuk!" He said, again starting to walk ahead, slower this time.

Batuk shook his head and followed him, now walking with his brother.

"Oh Batuk! I forgot to tell you!" Anirudh suddenly spoke.
"Kaka and Baba were talking about your marriage. Are you ready for it?"

"M.. Marriage?! I never thought about it so seriously." Batuk sounded worried.

"Don't worry! It isn't something to fear of!" Anirudh touched his brother's shoulder gently.
"Afterall, it's Mallika ofcourse!" He teased.

"Oh Dada!!" Batuk rolled his eyes at him.
"Mallika it is, ofcourse! But will Kaka agree?"

Batuk had a point. Mallika wasn't a Bengali, and that would definitely make things complicated for them. But Anirudh was determined to gibe his brother's love story a happy ending.

"You don't worry about that! I'll see to it!" He smiled at him as he saw Bondita coming with the breakfast tray.

"You both have your breakfast here itself." She smiled at them, leading to the small table in the middle of the lush green garden.

"Kaka and Baba?" Batuk asked.

"They said they'll have it later." Bondita told, pouring the coffee into the small white cup for her Pati Babu.

Anirudh and Batuk sat on the chairs, enjoying the warmth of the morning Sun.
Bondita handed Batuk his Coco milk and turned to her Pati Babu, with his coffee.

"Did you sweeten it?" Anirudh asked, pressing a naughty smile on his lips.

"Pati Babu!" Bondita hushed, looking at Batuk with a blush.

"I ain't seeing anything!" Batuk quickly turned his face away, laughing.

"Quick, love!" Anirudh smirked, forwarding his cup to Bondita.

She blushed and kissed the gold lined edge of the white tea cup, before taking a small sip. Her eyes not leaving his face and the blush not leaving her cheeks.

"Thankyou!" Anirudh smiled and happily sipped his coffee.

"You can turn around!" Bondita hit Batuk's back, rolling her eyes as he turned around, laughing.

"You two are impossibly cute!" He teased with a loud laughter.
"Please Stay Forever Like This!"
