Nova 07ㄖ Melting Consciousness

In the Networld, Maika found herself in a strange plane, she had found herself on a completely foreign place. She slowly processing each scene, looking from left to right, attempting to figure out her whereabouts.

"Where am I?" She thought to herself, looking into a slow stream of digits at the dark floor that flows like water. "What is this place?"

She looked above and found a frenzy of transparent squares dancing and circling about, forming a hollow ball of illuminating lights. Small and large, countless of them had scattered in front of her.

After processing what was around, she looked down. "Am I dead? Is this......"

Her thoughts were cut off when she saw that her skin was back at its color. Her eyes grew wide.. "Wait a sec, my vision and voice also was restored. Could this mean that...."

Maika instantly rose up from her seating, the one resembles a dentist's chair but made up of transparent glass-like matter, and her feet made a careful touchdown at the floor. Before she could turn her sight to her back or even made any further actions, a female voice resonated across the space.

"Welcome program.... Oh wait, I mean welcome Maika to my place. It's a wonderful thing that you are awake now."

"Who are you and how do you know my name?" Maika asked, then she started to look on all directions from where the voice was coming from.

"How do I know?" the voice said. "Well, I know your name because someone say so."

"Who?" Maika asked again, then she turned her head and looked behind her.

Then suddenly the voice came close to her and when she returned her glace, she faced the owner of the voice, standing a foot apart from her.

"Let me introduce myself before further ado." she said, then casting a small smile. "I am what they call here a Global User Monitoring Interface or you can call me simply Gumi." then she extended her gloved hand, Maika returned a handshake.

"Are you a program like me?"

"I am a program like you," Gumi said, lifting her hand and made a rainbow cube materialized at her palm, "but not like you in terms of purpose. You see Maika, as my name suggests, I am a monitoring interface of all the users of the Networld. You are created to sing and dance; I am created to make that all possible."

"How?" Maika asked.

"I am responsible for filtering all the data and files that were created by humans at their world - or what they call Earth - and I am also have the power to cut off or delay or execute their file in just a blink of an eye. Even right now that I am taking my time talking to you, I'm still doing those." Gumi explained.

Gumi tossed the rainbow cube to Maika and started walking away from her, Maika followed behind immediately.

"I hold all your fate here at my area of responsibility. I cover most of the European countries and some parts of the Middle East. I am also the one responsible for --"

"So you mean you let me live?" Maika asked again.

"Yes, I do let you live." Gumi said while looking up on a certain globe, her hands holding each other. "I believed that you don't deserve to trashed out by your stupid---"

"My creator is not stupid!" she shouted. "He was only doing his job!"

Gumi smiled. "Really Maika? Really? Don't you see Maika, she dumped you after he get what he wants!?"

"That's not true!"

"Enough Maika, your ten years of suffering was enough." Gumi said, making her smile fade away, still not facing Maika. "I was stupid enough to assume that your creator would change somehow during those stretch of time that I was watching you over. But I was wrong. If you are saying that your creator is not like of what am I thinking of him, then tell me one - a single thing that he made good to you at the stretch of your miserable life!"

After Gumi's statement, the dark floor started to turn red and the stream of digits ran faster. Maika at that moment had her head held down, holding the rainbow cube by a thread.

"Now tell me!" Gumi demanded with a slight raise in her voice. "What was the greatest thing that your creator had done into you!"

"He gave me life... from nothing."

Even though she didn't draw a word and cannot see Maika from behind, she was shocked at Maika's response. She clenched her fist and she looked at the globes of pixels above with melancholy.

"After all bad times that had happened to you, to your life that does not deserved to be like that, how could you still be faithful to him?" Gumi asked slowly. "I can't understand."

Maika lifted her head with tear-filled eyes. "Because he was my creator. He bring me unto this world, to this ugly single-coloured world, in this place that no one had ever wanted to be miserable. And he, even if he wants to destroy me, I still believe in him that he still cares for me. I am a living proof that things could be done by heart even if he changed alot, still I keep his promise. I still need to do my duty. I still carry his dream."

Gumi raised her hand like she was reaching something high. "Just... How. I never thought that a program could be created by such...."

Then a circle of blue one and zeros surrounds Maika and made her immobilized.

"Wha--what is this? What are you doing!" Maika asked, struggling to move.

She slowly lowered her hand. "The world needs your love and I shall need to pave your way in order to make that happen. I want you to live that promise you hold at your hands and spread the love through your songs and made your creator's world a better one."

Then the circles that surround her increases and almost making a wall between the two. "Why are you doing this and you still have not answered my question. How do you know my name?"

"I am doing this in order to continue the true purpose of the agents of the Networld - our purpose." Gumi said, turning to face her, Maika was slowly ascending.

"What purpose?"

"You will know soon, my child. Soon." Gumi said and made a bright smile.

Maika's eyes grew wide and dropped the rainbow cube at his hands. Before she could ask more, she was sent up at light speed and never seen the face of her mother. She sank down to her knees and still shocked at the blurry reveal while going up to her destination.

Back at her place, Gumi smiled while walking towards the chair Maika had used. She sat down and rested her back then placed both of her arms at the arm rest. She closed her eyes slowly.

"You have passed the test Maika and you are indeed the Administrator's child, my true child. I hope that you can solve the most difficult riddle of existence ever created. And be your renewed body and some appends I did to  your emotional aspects help you to do your job. I have seen many for almost a hundred years and you are the only one that picked up my lost dreams from the rubble. I'm glad."

Then a screen materialized in front of her face. "I shall call the Asian Administrator for her coming."
