Once away from the clearing, Izuku begin losing hope a little.
Everywhere he went was the never-ending forest he first stepped in, assuming it was just a cluster of tall trees.
But it was bigger, wider and more confusing than that. It was like an endless maze.
A series of tall, dark trees covering every pathway or more like leading to different paths. Sunlight couldn't reach down to the wild green grass. Everything looked shadowy. There were vines hanging from left to right in many areas. Asymmetrical big cobwebs between the dark trees — Izuku almost got tangled in one of them as they were bigger than his own size. There were no insects or animals though.
He was completely alone.
There was just the sound of his breathing, low muttering about which way he should go, twigs occasionally snapping underneath his steps... And one strange thing. Voices.
Voices he thought he didn't know. Voices that were calling out to him as distant yells and screams. They were calling him with a new name; Midoriya.
"But my name is Izuku," muttered the green head under his breath, pouting.
They almost terrified him to the core but at the same time gave him a feeling that wherever he was he needed to get out of here and find who those voices belonged to.
The other nice voice he heard earlier was now gone. At least for now it wasn't with him or else he would have tried asking for some directions. And as for Izuku's current goal in mind, it was the nice voice! He wanted to meet the person being that voice. He hoped he was going the right away and not getting tangled further into this maze of a forest.
"Dang it!" Izuku exclaimed as he ran into another big sized cobweb. Lost in his thoughts, he wasn't able to pay much attention to his surroundings but now looking around himself, he realized that this was the exact same spot he was at before.
He has been moving around in circles.
He was lost!
"Okay. Okay. Let's think this through," The green haired boy muttered to himself. He then picked up a twig and started to sketch out his path on the dirt, "I entered the forest from the south, then I moved straight for a while before I turned right, then I took another right turn, went straight, then left, then straight and another left and a long path down straight again..."
He took a good look at the rough map that ended up as a rectangle after the first or second turn. He really has been moving around in one spot.
"I really am stupid." He sighed, looking down before he mentally slapped himself, "No. No. No. Think of a way out. Not how dumb I am."
He stood up and with his best ability searched his surroundings in the dark shade of the trees to see if he could find something sharp. He was hoping to leave a mark on the trees he had passed so he wouldn't have to cross the same area again and again.
Seeing that he couldn't find anything relatively sharp enough to leave a mark on the trees, Izuku thought of two other options.
One that either he took account of all direction and ran through all the directions he hasn't been at, then come back and make a full map.
Two, mark the ground with the twigs and vines. There were definitely going to be some vines and twigs here and there on every path that might confuse him if he had already been there or not. He could try tying a vine around a twig and leave it on a noticeable place. That might work!
Smiling to himself, the green haired boy started gathering all the twigs and sticks he could find in that area. Placing all the twigs in one place, the boy went towards the vines hanging on the trees. He grabbed onto one and tried pulling it down. After a few forceful tugs, the vine snapped and fell on his head along with a lot of leaves that got separated from the tree.
He took two more of those vines and made his way back to the bunch of twigs and sticks. Then the green head did as he thought. Snapping the vines in shorter lengths, he tied them around the sticks rather slightly so the twigs wouldn't snap in half.
Once all done, he picked them up and started walking on a new path, leaving the sticks here and there occasionally.
He was going to find the nice voice!

"Just who is Midoriya?!"
In that moment Aizawa realized that the quirk that was prolonging Midoriya's death had so much more to it.
For example, erasing all memories related to the green haired boy.
Which wasn't good at all.
The underground hero tried his best to make all his students quiet down and explained everything that he knew about the situation from Iida's phone call to the doctor's statement and the erasing of their memories. The ones who forgot all about the green haired boy were; Sero, Koda, Hagakure, Sato, Shoji, Aoyama and Jirou.
"What!? Two days?! That's it?!" Uraraka exclaimed with tears in her eyes.
"This can't be seriously happening..." Kirishima mumbled, looking down. Todoroki just clenched his fists and turned away. Bakugou was standing unusually quiet.
"There has to be some other way!! I-If this quirk is giving us time then we should do something! We can't just sit down and wait for him to... To die! I can't just sit down and wait! I-I know Midoriya won't sit down if it were for any of us..." Iida said, his voice cracking up a bit.
"You're right. We can't just sit down." Aizawa placed a hand on Iida's shoulder. The boy looked up at him as he spoke, "That's why we need to figure out this quirk. What can it do, what it already has done and what it's going to do. Act rationally, all of you. There's no time to waste crying. Your classmate is in danger."
Iida shakily nodded, "R-Right... I apologize."
"There's no need to apologize. Not yet. We still we have till sundown after tomorrow. I'll contact the school and let them know. And don't move till I'm back." Aizawa said, bluntly pointing at the floor the were standing on before leaving for the call.
After their homeroom teacher left, the class looked at each other unsure of what to do next.
"So, um..." Kaminari started, "How exactly are we going to find more about this quirk?"
"I... I have no idea." Jirou sat down on a chair, clutching her head.
"Oh! I can try something," Ashido clapped her hands together. She turned to Sero and asked, "Hey, Sero! What comes to your mind when I say 'Midoriya'?"
"Uh... Green?" Sero gave her the was-that-the-correct-answer look.
Ashido stared at him before saying, "Well, that didn't work like I expected... But hey you're technically correct!"
"For your information, that isn't helping." Dark Shadow appeared beside Tokoyami.
"Sorry..." Ashido huffed.
"Let's forget about that." Yaoyorozu said, "Here's what I think, the ones who lost their memories about Midoriya might not be just randomly picked. I mean, the first one to react was Hagakure, right?"
The invisible girl nodded, "Yup."
"And then it slowly went from her to Koda, then Shoji, Jirou, Sero and Aoyama. And no one else was effected. If I'm correct, the loss of memories depends on either who was the closest or farthest to Midoriya when the accident happened or who has the most and the least memories with him." Yaoyorozu explained.
"Well if that's true then, it couldn't be the first one! Aoyama was with me and Deku at the mall! He shouldn't have lost his memories so early." Uraraka said.
"Then it might just be the second one..." Iida pondered.
"Dammit... So, the quirk's going to make us all forget about him and then kill him? Not manly." Kirishima said, scratching the back of his head.
"We only have so little time to put all the pieces together and think of a way to save him... But it's going to get more and more difficult if we keep forgetting about him. What if we tried holding onto things that connects to him? Can that extend our memory?" Todoroki stated.
"It's better than nothing, ribbit." Asui said. "We should discuss it when Mr. Aizawa comes back."
Class-1-A nodded in agreement.
Though Bakugou stood quiet aside from them.
It didn't need someone to point this out. He knew if their plan failed, he would have to do something on his own since he had known the green head the longest.

Izuku found light.
And following that light he found a way out of the forest.
"Whoa...!!" The green haired boy exclaimed as he took in his surroundings.
He was standing on a hill and below it was a wide vale, hills surrounded the shallow area. In a distance, he could see snow covered mountains as well.
In the wide shallow area, there was a house.
Maybe that's where the voice was!

「 I am closer than you think...」

Izuku made his way down the hill, not hearing the whisper in his ear.
