Shota Aizawa would have said this was a norm for Class-1-A to get caught in another villain attack.

But right now, that wasn't the main concern.

No.

The main concern wasn't the villains, nor the citizens, neither any other injuries. Rather, the main concern was Midoriya's life.

He just received a call from the class representative, Tenya Iida that Midoriya was... In an unknown condition. Aizawa didn't understood a single word that he said after that. The deep blue haired boy sounded too scared and confused to explain the situation properly. And neither any other students could explain what exactly happened, on the phone.

Aizawa only understood a few things in the end.

One; Midoriya's life was in danger.

Two; he was shot.

And three; their current location was a local hospital.

After that Aizawa didn't waste anymore time and immediately fled there, leaving the rest of the staff confused.

It all started as a casual Saturday during a cold and snowy winter. Since they all were mostly free and there was no school work to do, some students said that they wanted to go off campus as a class and do normal teenager stuff. No, not the unethical stuff. Just hanging out, shopping, eating, watching movies and other things of the sort.

Aizawa allowed after discussing the matter with the principal; Nezu. He allowed too, saying that the students needed a break from their current hectic daily routine and that they should spent some time carefree like normal kids would.

But they were all problem children. Absolute trouble magnets. Danger follows wherever they go. Everyone knew that. It has happened way too many times to be called just a coincidence. And that's what happened again.

Though a little different this time. Class-1-A wasn't exactly targeted. No, none of them were targeted and neither this was a high-scale, fully planned villain attack. They were all at Kiyashi Ward shopping mall where some low ranked villains happened to be at the same time. And villains, well, being villains started a commotion, committing small time crimes like mugging and causing other problems.

What happened after that? Why was Midoriya the only one they attacked? Where did the villains go? Was there some other damage? Were the other students really uninjured? Aizawa didn't know. He had no idea about what he was going to see next.

And after a long ride, Aizawa finally made it to the hospital where his students were.

Upon arriving, the first thing he saw was about half of the students standing around, waiting for either a doctor to update them about Midoriya's condition or Aizawa to come in.

God, he hopes everything turns out well.

To say the least, as a class rep, Iida thought everything was going just fine.

He thought things couldn't go worse than Kaminari and Ashido eating random stuff for dares and possibly getting food poison.

He really thought it wouldn't get any worse.

The sun was setting down and the curfew time was getting closer, so Iida gathered everyone around and told them that they should head back now - to which they all agreed to pretty easily since they were clearly tired after a long day of just goofing around.

That was until some villains decided to rob a shop and threaten civilians' lives. And just as the event unfolded, one of them decided to point a gun at a child who was apparently alone in the crowd. Everyone stopped all activity after that. The kid was shocked at first but as the child realized what was happening, tears trickled down her eyes. She didn't make a noticeable sound. Scared, her teary eyes scanned the area, looking at everyone in search of someone who could help her.

Then those helpless teary eyes met the gaze of a familiar set of emerald green one's.

And that's it.

Before Iida or anyone could do or even say anything, Midoriya jumped to the child's aid without a second thought.

And the sheer moment in which the green haired boy decided to step in matched with the exact moment the villain pulled the trigger.

And instead of going for the kid, the villain switched his aim on a slightly different angle last second and shot right through Midoriya's chest - the bullet pierced through the boy's heart in an instant. And for a moment everything went completely silent after that one loud bang.

Midoriya clutched the spot where he was shot and kneeled on the ground, his back facing the child who was in danger. He clenched his teeth, his head hanging low as his bangs covered his eyes. The green haired boy ended up shielding the child even after taking the shot anyways.

Soon enough, another one of those villains yelled at his mates to follow him and escape through the allies, a bag of stolen items in his hand. They all complied and ran, movements started again. People started yelling; some shouted for help, some asked to go after the villains while some called for an ambulance.

Iida, Uraraka and Yaoyorozu immediately rushed next to Midoriya. Bakugou and Todoroki followed the villains just as they ran. Asui contacted a nearby hospital while the rest of the class helped the other civilians out.

"Midoriya? Midoriya, look at me!" Iida said as he wrapped an arm around the injured boy's back and supported him up straight and his other hand over the spot he got shot. The green head didn't reply but just bit his lower lip. His head hung low, hiding away the pain in his eyes.

"Let me see," Yaoyorozu said as she slowly pulled away Midoriya's hands from his chest to check the severity of the injury. And the position from which the bullet lodged in his body scared the black haired girl as she realized that there was no way it didn't pass through his heart.

Yaoyorozu's hand flew to her mouth, "Oh god... This is bad..."

"Tsu, when's the ambulance arriving?!" Uraraka turned to the frog girl, her eyes wide in disbelief.

"They said it'll take about five minutes, ribbit!" Asui replied, joining the small group. The girl's expression turned to horror the moment her eyes landed on Midoriya.

He looked so... Lifeless.

"He doesn't have five minutes!" Uraraka exclaimed and then turned to the class rep, "Iida, can't you carry him there?!"

"I... I don't know. What if carrying him to the hospital made things worse? I-I can't take any risks!" Iida replied, holding Midoriya close whose head now rested on Iida's chest, his eyes were now closed.

"Alright. Alright. Let's focus on the more important matter here... I-Is he asleep? He's not unconscious, is he? Shouldn't we keep him up till he gets the medical attention?" Uraraka asked.

"I'm not sure... He hasn't moved or said anything. His breathing is also slowing down. It's slowing down a little too much..." Iida said, looking down at the boy in his arms, "Midoriya, can you hear me? Are you awake? Say something, please..."

No response.

"Deku..." Uraraka said as she tried to check the boy's pulse only to realize how cold his body was beginning to get, "Oh god his body is getting cold... Should he be getting cold? This isn't good."

"That shouldn't be happening... Unless there was something in the bullet." Yaoyorozu said.

Midoriya, on the other hand, didn't feel the pain once the bullet crossed his heart. He just felt the bullet's path burning inside and after that he felt his body getting more and more powerless by each passing second. His eyes were closed because he didn't have enough energy to open them up, but he was still awake. And he could hear his classmates talking too. He wanted to reply, he wanted to tell them that he was conscious, he wanted to tell them that it was going to be fine but he didn't have the power to do so. He was barely even getting himself to breathe. It felt so hard. And each time he took in a breathe, it felt like he was getting stabbed with needles.

Regardless, he held in his breathe for a moment and raised his scarred hand a little, signalling his friends that he was still there.

"...F-Fine.... I-I'm.... F-Fine..." That was all what Midoriya managed to say.

And then, he regretted even trying to reassure his classmates as he felt something burn up at the back of his throat and everything around him just went static.

His vision went blank.

His ears caught no sound.

His voice faded away.

There was a quick moment filled with absolute pain.

And then it was all numb.

~O~

Midoriya found himself in a void of nothing.

As far as his vision stretched... There was absolutely nothing.

He was just standing there in the middle of an empty space. A never-ending horizon of white.

"Wh-What happened? Did I...? Did I die...?" He mumbled to himself.

He looked at his chest, trying to find the spot where he was shot.

Then suddenly, a strange feeling bursted through his head. He felt like something was tugging on his veins. He clutched his head in an attempt to stop the pain from coming in on him again.
