Have a Goodnight (Sope Bonus)
"Have a goodnight boss!"
Hoseok swings his hoodie over his body, waving at Wooyoung behind the register from the door with a beaming smile, "Good luck kid, see you tomorrow!"
Tonight has been a very hectic day as it is. The Rainbow Café that Hoseok owned has been extremely busy today with college students, who were going through their struggles of exam week. Hoseok remembers those days of sleepless nights and coffee being his best friend to keep him awake. Thankfully that all pulled off and he was able to open up a small cute café in town, watching as it slowly grew popularity within time.
The night tonight is warm, decently warm, yet Hoseok still drank his coffee as a force of habit as he listened to music from his earphones, getting lost to this scenery of the dim lights of the lamp post with the decent city buildings creating a pathway.
This is what Hoseok loves about working in the city; being surrounded by this moment of lights in the dimmest darkness of the night.
What he enjoyed mostly about this is going to the park, that he always has to walk through in order to get to the other side to reach his apartment. The park itself is very calming. There's a few runners and bikers here and there that would occasionally appear yet it's so peaceful to walk here.
Hoseok was in the midst of getting lost in a few dance steps of his own to the music, a small smile on his lips as he yearns to finally get home and watch a movie, just to relax for a while.
However he stops moving when he sees a small body curled up on the bench, hands to their face with raven hair serving as a coat to conceal the person's face. Hoseok was just going to continue walking but he sees the body shake slightly, almost as if they're cold.
For a moment Hoseok debated over his next move but ended up removing an ear phone and approaches the small body, "Uh.... Hi?"
The body didn't move for a moment, but they must've heard Hoseok because they did tense up so suddenly. Hoseok then was able to hear their faint sniffling, even their soft whimpering as if they're trying to hold back their tears.
Hoseok's heart weighed too heavy in his chest to leave now, so he sits beside the body, slowly raising a hand to their knee, "Hey-"
"GET AWAY FROM ME!" The boy suddenly snaps, slapping Hoseok's hands away from his body as he finally looks up.
All of Hoseok's breath faded away.
The boy's face is swollen and blotchy with tears. His eyes are such a painful red, eyes filled with pools of an endless ocean of his sadness. Hoseok didn't know if it was from the way the boy snarl his teeth at him in anger or how his gaze held so much hurt that made him stay, all he knew was they he didn't want to leave him like this.
No one deserves to be alone when they're hurt.
"I'm sorry," Hoseok whispers, retreating his hand back on his lap, watching with a frown as the raven haired boy buries his face back to his knees, "Are you okay?"
He expected for the other to not answer, and he didn't of course.
So Hoseok thought of another technique to approach this, "Well.... Let me tell you about how my day went," He says, bringing his knees to his chest as well, eyes moving over the park with a peaceful smile on his face, "I own a coffee shop just a few blocks away, the Rainbow Café, I'm not sure if you've heard of it. Today was so busy, many costumers came in-"
"Why are you still here?" The male suddenly asks, making Hoseok pause, "I don't need a fucking therapy session."
Hoseok purses his lips, slowly looking at the boy who still didn't show his face, "Well I didn't ask you about what's wrong with you. Maybe I need someone to talk to."
"Well look somewhere else, I'm not good with words."
For some reason Hoseok found that amusing, letting out a soft giggle bubble out his throat, "Yeah I'm not good with words either. Sometimes having someone to listen to without saying anything is all we need, you know?
Silence flooded between them for a moment, somehow not being as awkward as Hoseok expected. It stayed like this as they listen to the soft crickets in the night, the gentle running of squirrels or other animals roam around. The boy's sniffling dwindled down slowly and he looks up once again, eyes still looking at his knees with a deep gulp.
"I.... I have to marry someone, not by choice."
Oh wow he actually said something.
Hoseok turns his head towards him, focusing his entire attention on him. The boy rubs his nose with the sleeve of his grey hoodie, letting out a heavy sigh, "I.... I don't want to marry the guy and I don't know what to do. I should be giving him a chance.... But I don't want to, I just can't marry someone if it's not out of love... Call me a pathetic romantic but that's just how I see it."
Listening as the male tells his problem with his low and slow voice somehow captured all of Hoseok's attention, nodding to his words in understanding. He can see why the other would be distressed. He's being forced to be with someone for the rest of his life whom he doesn't love or feel any type of connection with.
That sucks, not having a voice sucks.
The male blinks away his tears, letting his eyes look far into a distance of the pathway, "I don't even know why I'm telling you this, I don't even know you."
Almost as if Hoseok broke from his trance of marveling the man's beautiful face, he makeshifts a small smile and sticks out a hand, "I'm Hoseok."
Hoseok could see the clear hesitation behind the other's eyes, staring at his hand as if it was a ticking bomb, but the second he meets his smile it was as if he was lured in and he clasps his hand over his, "Yoongi."
Yoongi.... The name fits him so well.
Feeling a certain giddiness in his heart, Hoseok stands up, still holding his hand, "Come, let's go for a walk."
Now if Yoongi wasn't hesitant before, he definitely was now. He slightly glares at their hand, moving his eyes to Hoseok with a perked eyebrow, "What?"
Hoseok didn't even give him time to decide, only pulls him to his feet, "Let's walk around and talk for a while. I'm in desperate need to have my legs moving after drinking this," He says and hands over the cup to him, "Here have some. I made it myself."
This is clearly something Yoongi isn't use to, Hoseok can clearly see that. Now he's definitely glaring at the coffee cup, raising an eyebrow, "What if it's poisonous or you put some drug into it?"
This definitely caught Hoseok by surprise.
His eyebrows shoot up and he blinks at him, "Well... I don't know what type of things you're use to, but in my world when I have coffee, I'm pretty sure the only thing I put in is sugar and cream."
Yoongi doesn't even know why he bothered accusing the other of this. In his world no one would have the audacity to approach him, let alone smile at him. Every knew to steer clear of his presence, especially to respect him.
Hoseok clearly didn't know who he was and that felt like a breath of fresh air.
So hesitantly Yoongi takes the cup, making Hoseok smile widely as he takes a sip. Almost instantly his eyes widen and he looks at him, "Wow, where did you get this?"
"I made it," Hoseok beams in pride, hooking his arm with Yoongi's, "Now let's go enjoy this path without worrying about what lies in the shadows, yeah?"
From there the two walked around the whole park, talking about basically anything. Well, it was mostly Hoseok talking, Yoongi would just nod and drink the coffee with his childlike eyes. Hoseok talked more about his day, going off how exhausted he is after a long day. Yoongi grew comfortable enough and would occasionally ask him questions, such as how he's liking his job and why did he wish to pursue it. He told him how he was always one for numbers and organization, he loves the idea of business and wanted to do this for a very long time until he eventually did achieve it.
Even though it was a small gesture, Hoseok caught how Yoongi twitched a smile to this, feeling as if he accomplished something good tonight.
He made the male stop feeling sad.
They eventually walked out of the park, walking down the side walk with arms still linked together. Slowly Yoongi began to see the world through Hoseok's eyes for a split moment. He saw the beauty of the city lights and not the shadows of the alleyways. He saw people with their friends and family's with bright smiles, not men in suits ready to blow someone's head off as an order. The cars didn't follow him, they zoomed by to their own destination.
Slowly... He began to feel.... Safe.
Hoseok made him feel safe.
Suddenly they two stopped in front of a door to an apartment building. Yoongi studies it with his calm eyes, keeping note of it in his head as Hoseok turns to him with a small smile.
"Thank you for walking me home, you didn't have to."
Yoongi blinks at him and awkwardly rubs his hair, looking away from his gaze, "It's nothing," He mumbles and gulps, "Thanks for.... Just listening.... I guess."
Hoseok's smile widens and he also moves his gaze to the ground, "Yeah, I should thank you too. You're a good listener."
The two clearly didn't want to part ways and possibly never see each other again. Hoseok genuinely felt like someone was actually keeping up with his energy and listening to him. Most people just nod and hum at him since he has a tendency to ramble, but not Yoongi. He was actually listening..... It felt nice.
However it seems as if Yoongi's shell slowly closed up again and he clears his throat, "Well, I'm go," He says and turns around ready to walk away.
"Wait."
Yoongi turns around, seeing Hoseok stare at him with a unsure gleam in his eyes, "Will I... See you again?"
For a long moment they didn't say anything, only studies the window of their souls as if they were yearning to not separate. It was an odd sensation that sent shivers down Hoseok's spine and sent his heart to skip a beat.
Especially when Yoongi sends him a small smile, "Have a good night Hoseok," And with that he turns around, walking farther and farther away.
Hoseok only watches him leave, feeling his own lips form a smile as he places a hand on his heart, "Have a goodnight Yoongi."
From that day on, Hoseok walked down that park with a new purpose. Every night after his shift, at the same time, he passed by that same bench in hopes to see the small raven haired male. Each night he was left disappointed. Yoongi was never there.
Days became weeks and Hoseok lost hope.
However, the next day at work, while in the midst of exiting his shop he spotted a figure leaning against the brick wall of the building. At first Hoseok was just going to ignore the person, believing they were probably waiting for someone inside, but the second the male turns his head towards him, Hoseok nearly forgot how to breathe.
Yoongi.
He's here.
"Yoongi," Hoseok whispers, watching as the man with the formal tux push himself off the wall and approaches Hoseok, wearing a familiar cold gleam in his eyes that Hoseok remembers.
"What? Not so happy to see me?"
Then that's when it hit Hoseok and he couldn't suppress his smile, nor his excitement. He realized his he was holding a cup of coffee and instantly hands it to him, "Very. Here, have some."
Once again Hoseok could see the clear hesitation behind Yoongi's eyes, but he was less reluctant as he takes the cup and sips the warm beverage. A low whine in satisfaction escapes his throat, making Hoseok's smile widen.
"You've got to teach me how to make this."
Once again Hoseok found his arm and linked it together like before, "Why teach you when I can just make it for you," He teases, not noticing the shy blush form Yoongi's cheeks as they begin to walk away from coffee shop.
"I'm surprised you remember about where I work," Hoseok says, his glittering eyes moving around the Christmas lights on the leaf less tress planted on the side walks.
Yoongi hums as he drinks more of the coffee, "I'm surprise you remember I existed."
Now it was Hoseok's turn to start blushing, slightly shoving the other with his shoulder, "Of course I do, you're hard to forget."
Now they're left in this shy bubble, keeping their arms linked together as the quietly walk through the park to get to the other side. The peaceful aura of the night felt too soothing to disrupt with noise, and they both somehow knew that. Just being around each other's presence in this environment makes this journey feel much better and comforting as it is. However Hoseok did want to ask how Yoongi was doing after his mental break down in the park.
Seeing him now Hoseok can see he's much more relaxed now, so hopefully whatever problem was going on was somehow resolved.
Once again did they arrive back to Hoseok's apartment and he was just about to ask the other if he wanted to come inside for a movie or just to hang out, but Yoongi's phone suddenly rings at that moment. Hoseok watches with a small frown as Yoongi's face suddenly coils into darkness all emotion drains from his face, coating it with this ice of focus and slight annoyance.
"Everything okay?" Hoseok asks just when Yoongi handed up.
The other unlinks his arm from his and nods, "Yeah sorry, I have to go," He says lowly and turns around as he starts to walk away.
Hoseok's chest felt heavy now, not knowing when he'll ever see the man again. Would it be days, weeks, months all over again? Who knows, maybe he'll never see him again.
A small pout forms his lips as he opens the door to his apartment building, ready to step inside-
"Hoseok!"
He turns his head instantly, seeing Yoongi standing a stance away, who wears a small smile on his lips as he cups his mouth, "Have a good night!"
Hoseok's eyes widen, noticing how people turned to his direction when he shouted that out. His cheeks are on fire now, hiding his smile with his hand as he waves back at him with his other hand. The raven haired boy only sends him a wink and walks farther away.
Who knew ever since that day, Hoseok's life began to change.
Yoongi would wait for him every single night outside his coffee shop, now it being a habit that Hoseok makes a cup of coffee for him once he finishes his shift. Their communication only grew and grew more progressive, finding joy in pointing out at things they see in the world and getting lost to the stories they tell each other. Not once have they spoken about Yoongi's problem before and it seemed as if this made the raven haired male much more comfortable and grateful around Hoseok's magnetic presence.
One day Hoseok finally gained the courage to ask Yoongi to come inside. The other as usual was a little reluctant but after a few of Hoseok's comforting words he went inside. They stayed that night watching movies, drinking hot chocolate, making fun of a few characters of the movies they would watch.
That night Hoseok ended up falling asleep on Yoongi's shoulder, but woke up on his bed with Yoongi gone and a note behind.
"Have a goodnight, Hobi" - Yoongi :)
Something began to ignite in Hoseok's heart the more days passed that he was around Yoongi, and it felt like the other was feeling the same way too. The first time Yoongi tenderly trailed his hand down from their linked arms to hold Hoseok's hand instead was what gave Hoseok's heart a jump start to let himself cherish these moments. As far as he knows Yoongi is still a man arrange to marry someone else, so this moment of happiness is only temporary, and he wishes to preserve it as much as possible in his heart.
However, not everything was happy and joyful as it seemed. Hoseok still didn't know anything about Yoongi or what life he lived outside of their comfortable bubble.
Not until one night, where Hoseok was seconds away from being actually murdered.
Hoseok left the coffee shop a little early than intended since it was a slow night. Yoongi hasn't arrived yet, so he waited for him outside of the shop, leaning against the familiar spot he always did with two coffee cups in hand. Minutes only ticks down and Hoseok noticed a hoodie figure start to approach him from down the sidewalk.
At first he believed it was Yoongi until he noticed the man's size. Before Hoseok could even make a move away, the man grabbed the collar of his shirt and drags him away with a hand to his lips. The coffee cups splattered on the ground as Hoseok slams his fists against the man, prying his hands off him but no matter what he did, nothing worked. He was aggressively dragged to the alleyway beside the shop and slammed against the wall, nearly knocking his whole breath away.
"WHERE THE FUCK IS HE?!"
Hoseok is trembling in his bones, blinking his tears away as he tries to steady his breathing, "W-Who? I don't know-"
"SHUT THE FUCK UP AND ANSWER THE QUESTION!"
A gun is now pointed to his forehead, making Hoseok shriek out a sob to the metal digging his forehead, "I s-swear I don't know who you're talking about!"
Hoseok hears the safety come undone and he began to think that this was it, he is actually going to die now.
This is it.
However it never came. A loud gun shot exploded the air but not from the gun to his forehead that suddenly disappeared. The noise deafened his ears, jolting his heart in his chest painfully hard as he hears the sound of a body dropping to the ground that followed with hands on his jaw.
"Hobi! Hey are you okay! Open your eyes."
Almost instantly Hoseok's leak of tears broke through, choking on his air as he recognizes that familiar voice. He peels his eyes open, seeing Yoongi right in front of him. A relieving cry escapes his lips as he draps his body over his, clutching tightly to his neck as he sobs on his shoulder.
"I-I was going to d-die," Hoseok whimpers between his choked breathes, "I-I was going to d- AH!"
He suddenly notices the dead man on the ground, a bullet wound through his skull. His hand instantly slaps over his lips, unable to breath at his point with eyes completely wide with tears.
Dead.
There's a dead man in front of him.
"D-Did you.... Y-Yoongi... I-" Hoseok is fumbling with his words now, feeling Yoongi tighten his embrace around his waist.
Did Yoongi kill him?
Was he the one that killed him?
So many questions ran through his mind at once, feeling Yoongi slowly tug him away from the scene, "Lets go somewhere private please.... I need to confess something to you."
Hoseok's whole body and mind feel into a motion of paralysis. Nothing processed his mind fast enough as he let's Yoongi guide them away. The lights around him that use to admire now feels dull, only picturing that body in his head like a broke record.
Is Yoongi a serial killer?
If so why hasn't he killed him?
What if he's waiting for a good opportunity to do so?
Hoseok at this point didn't want to jump into any conclusions, he wants to hear what the other has to say. He needs answers to what the fuck he just saw.
Suddenly he realized they are at the park again, sitting down on the familiar bench that they first met. Yoongi has not let go of his hand at all and Hoseok is still shaking in complete fear and paranoia.
So Yoongi takes a deep breath, "Please.... Say something, anything-"
"Were you the one that killed him?"
Yoongi didn't say anything for a moment, letting the silence feel like a heavy weight between the two that was once filled with peace. Hoseok turns his fierce gaze towards him, a firm glare in his eyes through his tears, "Answer me."
It was clear behind Yoongi's eyes that he didn't want to answer but the he closes his eyes and slowly nods, "I did."
That alone felt as if Hoseok has been shot himself. A choked gasp escapes his lips, instantly removing his hand from his, "Who are you? Were you just planning to kill me too one day-"
"I'm not a serial killer," Yoongi instantly growls, making Hoseok flinch to his tone to which Yoongi instantly soften his tone, "I..... I'm the son of a man that owns a very... Large corporation-"
"Yoongi," Hoseok says, his look firming up to becoming stone cold, "Be honest with me... Please."
Hesitantly Yoongi makes eye contact with Hoseok, and it was almost as if Hoseok could see his heart shattering to this moment. This is clearly something Yoongi was never planning on telling Hoseok about, nether the less wanted to.
He didn't want him involved.
However he deserves the truth, that's the least he could do.
So Yoongi manages to slowly nod and gulps thickly, "I'm the son of a mafia leader," He says, making Hoseok closes his eyes shut to the truth, "The arrange marriage I'm in is to combine the empire of another mafia with mine.... Almost like some royal engagement. Although the mafia I'm in is very respected, I do have enemies that wants to the heir out of the picture.... So that explains... What happened back there."
To say Hoseok's mind was rushing to many things at once would be an understatement. It was going through a whole chaos, trying to fit the pieces together. That's why Yoongi's face would transform so sudden when he would get a phone call, or whenever they're together he would always look around in paranoia.
He's a criminal.
A Murderer.
Who knows what other type of fucked up shit he's done.
And Hoseok.... He didn't want to know.
After a long moment of silence, Hoseok finally finds his words, "So.... Was this all just some sort of twisted game to get me in trouble with other people too? To have me nearly killed!"
Yoongi's eyes instantly widens, shaking his head instantly, "No that wasn't my intention!" He says with heavy frown, "I never wanted you to be part of any of this, that's why I stayed away at first but-"
He paused, leaving Hoseok to perk an eyebrow with anxious hands rubbing against each other, "But what-"
"I didn't want to be away from you okay!" Yoongi explodes, silencing Hoseok instantly, "For the first time in my life I met someone that was just... Normal. You weren't involved in this world and you just had such different views than me and that was just relieving and..... I didn't want to let go of something good that finally happened to my life."
This completely let Hoseok breathless, letting more tears cascade down his cheeks as he lets the words since in. This whole time Hoseok believed he was the only one who felt like this, that he was the only one who felt like being around him just made life much more enjoyable to live in.
In all reality, there's a whole different world out there that Yoongi came from, where there's no light that Hoseok sees everyday.
And for Yoongi..... He treasured that so much, to the point he would risk being spotted and jumped as long as he got a small moment with Hoseok alone.
The raven haired male gets to his feet, running his anxious hands through his hair as he faces the sky with closed eye, "I didn't mean to bring this onto you, I promise I didn't. I just..... I'm sorry."
The way his voice slightly broke sent a soft nag to Hoseok's heart, being able to see the emotional layers that Yoongi hid from him this whole time.
Now.... Now they know what's best is to be away from each other.... Even though that's not what their hearts want.
So Hoseok slowly stands up and walks behind Yoongi, gently wrapping his arms around his shoulders. Yoongi exhales a shakily breath, squeezing his eyes to hold back his tears as Hoseok presses a delicate kiss on his head.
"Goodbye Yoongi.... Have a goodnight."
Yoongi's lips quivered painfully as Hoseok's arms slowly left his body, leaving him to the coldness of the night. Hoseok walks down the pathway of the park, slamming a hand to his lips to hold back his sobs, trying to keep his legs steady as he walks farther and farther away. Even if his heart aches, his soul shreds and his emotions drain to sorrow, Hoseok knows this is what's best for the both of them.
That world is not his world and being around Yoongi will only result with him being dead.
This is what's best for the both of them, it has to be.
When Hoseok arrived to his apartment that night, he fell to his knees and broke down. He curled his body, giving himself comfort as he begs to forget about the man's dead body and Yoongi's broken confession. Sadly what hurt worse than all of this was letting Yoongi go.
It ached his soul so much.
For many nights this has been Hoseok's routine, to arrive home and break down. He never saw Yoongi again and he once made an extra coffee out of force of habit but then gave it to Wooyoung before walking out the café. He wondered how Yoongi is feeling now too.
Does he feel alone like he is?
Is he in the midst of killing someone?
Did he break off his arrange marriage?
So many questions but were left with empty answers. Even though a small part of him hopes to see Yoongi just casually in the streets, just one more time, he knows this is for the best.
Yet why does it hurt so damn much?
Hoseok didn't know when he suddenly began to feel numb, to the pain and the sadness. His smile wasn't as bright as it once was before and he only would stare out the window of his café in hopes to catch a glimpse of Yoongi again.
He never did, of course he didn't.
However destiny has a way with one's heart, and that is if one's meant to be with someone then they will always find their way to each other.
That Hoseok knew when he walked out of his coffee shop one night, feeling that familiar numbness as he scrolls through his phone to pick out a song to drown in while being in his sorrow state of mind. But that all stops when he stops by a narrow road, dark, with the sound of groans coming out of it.
He didn't want to stop, he really didn't, but he felt his ears perked when he heard a familiar from the inside.
"Leave him the fuck alone!"
Yoongi?
It almost felt as if a trance lured Hoseok into the shadows of the narrow street, swallowing him from the light of the world he use to see before.
His feet slowly moved past the knocked down trash cans and dumpsters before seeing two males in a distance. One of them is on the ground curling up their body while the other sends kicks after kicks to his stomach.
Wait.... Is the one on the floor Yoongi?
Everything in Hoseok's body runs cold, especially when the light of the dim lamppost shines on Yoongi's bruised faced that's drenched with sweat. The man proceeds to kick him before grabbing the collar of his hoodie and shackles him to the wall, yanking out a knife and pins it to his neck.
"What are you going to do about huh? He would definitely look good working for my brothel hm?" The man taunts, making Yoongi snarl his teeth angrily at him.
By now Hoseok is panicking, looking everywhere for something, anything but there's nothing in sight. So he slowly creeps behind the man and jumps on his back, wrapping an arm around his neck to hold him in a choke hold.
"HOBI!"
Hoseok didn't let go of the man, no matter how much he tries to reach him or yank on his body, until he slams him back against the wall. His arms instantly loosens and his oxygen was sliced completely off when a hand grips his neck hair, raising him up above his feet.
"YOU FUCKING BITCH!" The man snarls with his angry black eyes, "I swear I'm-"
He's instantly cut off when a gun shot suddenly goes off, leaving hissing in pain as he let's go of Hoseok. His eyes were filled with dark spots as he coughs to gain oxygen eying the way the man drops to his knees as he clutches to his calf.
Yoongi stands beside him and instantly rushes to Hoseok, "We need to go-"
"Y-You didn't kill him?" Hoseok breathes, catching his air as his eyes grows more and more darker.
This took Yoongi off guard, glancing at the injured man, "No, he's a member of the mafia from-"
"I DON'T GIVE A SHIT ABOUT WHAT FUCKING GROUPIE HE'S IN! HE HURT YOU!" Hoseok yells back angry, " HE COULD'VE KILLED-"
A sudden gun shot once again goes off, this time very near Yoongi's head as it hits the wall beside him instead.
Oh that was what trigger a side of Hoseok that he never thought he had.
His hands balled hard on his side, eyes moving to the man who's holding the gun on the ground. He instantly drops the gun upon seeing the murderous glare in Hoseok's eyes, rattling his body in fear. Yoongi gapped his lips, seeing something cascade Hoseok's aura that he's never seen before.
It all happened so fast when Hoseok grabbed the knife from the ground that the man held Yoongi with and tackled him to the ground, stabbing it down his body. Hoseok's whole mind and body was not connected together, all he felt was the pain and anger he's been feeling for the past months. It was almost as if he finally broke. The mere image of how the man was taking no mercy in beating Yoongi's body up is what fueled the gasoline in Hoseok's body, using the knife to slice the man's neck and slam his head repeatedly on the ground.
"YOU FUCKING ASSHOLE LEAVE HIM ALONE!" He would scream to the already dead body, "LEAVE MY YOONGI ALONE!"
It was almost instantly that Yoongi broke his trance of complete shock and dragged Hoseok's body off the man. Hoseok would shriek and scramble from his arms but Yoongi only hugged him tighter.
"He's dead, he's dead," Yoongi whispered against his ear, turning him around to hold him properly, "It's okay, I'm okay."
Slowly Hoseok began to calm down, closing his eyes to the feeling of being in Yoongi's arms again.
Home, he feels like home.
"Let's take you back to your apartment, okay?"
Hoseok only nods slowly, not letting the reality of what he's done process fast enough in his head as Yoongi slowly guides them through the narrow street and back to the side walk. Thankfully his apartment was only a few steps away and not many people were around the streets to see his scarlet bloody hands.
Without a word Yoongi opened the door for him and lead him past the small empty lobby and up the stairs, arriving to his floor before using his keys to open the door. Hoseok was still quiet, holding tightly onto Yoongi as the other guides them inside and flickers the lamp on to the living room.
He turns to Hoseok, and glances down at his hands, "Let's get you cleaned up."
It was all calm until Hoseok entered the bathroom, where his eyes landed on his hands to realize what the hell he did.
He just killed someone.
He stabbed and took someone's life away...
With that realization followed paranoia, and he feel into a full blown panic attack. A shrieking scream escapes his lips, his eyes not leaving his bloody hands as he desperately tried to gasp for air, feeling the hard clench of his chest as if someone is feverishly stomping on his body.
He falls to his knees, crying hard with his never ending water fall of tears. Yoongi instantly fell into action and was there to hold him, bring him to his chest as he caresses his hair.
"Shhh it's okay, let it out, it's okay," He would whisper, giving Hoseok the key to completely break apart.
He just killed someone.
His life is ruined if he's caught.
He's a murderer.
He's going to go to jail and won't see his coffee shop again.
That horrid reality only edged in his panic, holding tightly onto Yoongi as he cries against his chest, screaming for the life slipping past his fingertips. All Yoongi did was hold him, assuring him everything was going to be okay.
That he wasn't alone.
For some reason those words alone sent a reassuring caress to his soul, reminding him that he wasn't alone in this. Yoongi hold him as if he was his shield to the world, protecting him from all the sorrow and pain that it brought with tender touches and reassuring whispers.
He didn't feel alone, and that was enough for him to calm down.
They stayed like this for a while before Yoongi slowly rises the pair from the ground. He helped the hoodie off Hoseok's body to reveal just his t-shirt, occasionally wiping his tears away. Then he keeps his arms around Hoseok from behind as he guides him to the sink and turns the faucet on. Hoseok would whimper or sniff as Yoongi helped him wash his hands completely from the blood. Slowly Hoseok's limbs were finally working again and he began to wash his hand as Yoongi wiped any blood with a wet rag and soap from his skin carefully, almost as if he was some fragile glass.
Once they were done, Yoongi took Hoseok to the living room and sat them both down. Almost instantly Hoseok curled to Yoongi's body, as if afraid if he's left alone then the cops will start to barge on his door.
Yoongi didn't mind, he wasn't going anywhere if it wasn't to be beside Hoseok.
They stay in this silence, comforting one another tenderly just by being in each other's embrace, feeling warm despite the coldness of what happened earlier. They wanted to say something, but didn't know when it was the appropriate time to do so.
For Hoseok, that time was now, "Will I go to jail now?"
Yoongi didn't know what to say to this, only caresses his fingers along side Hoseok's arm around his waist, "No Hobi... You won't."
"I deserve to."
"That was just self defense," Yoongi tries to says, "You did nothing-"
"I don't regret it Yoongi."
This made him stop talking. The air around them somehow grew much more tensing, almost hard to even breathe, especially for Yoongi. He gently pulls Hoseok off of him and clasps his cheeks to make him face him.
Those eyes that was once filled with light are now dim with darkness, almost like a glass reflection, but nearly numb. However that was just for a moment because the second they made eye contact it was as if Hoseok's eyes breathed with life all over again.
"What are you talking about Hobi?" Yoongi whispers, trying to understand what Hoseok is feeling.
The other only stares back at him, raising a dainty hand and clasp it over Yoongi's cheek, running his thumb over a bruise under his eye, "I don't regret it. I saved your life... That's enough for me."
By now Yoongi feels like he's completely lost all sense of his mind. Either this is some sick dream or Hoseok took some drugs. However he knows neither of them are true and his heart suddenly began to feel warm, slowly pulling his hands away from Hoseok's face.
"You shouldn't feel anything for me Hoseok..... This path.... It's dangerous.... We'll only get hurt and you don't deserve that," Yoongi tries to plead, making Hoseok frown slightly, "We can't be together-"
"Well I'm tired of being away from you!" Hoseok explodes, trapping Yoongi's words in his throat, "It physically hurts okay? I'm sorry I grew some type of feelings over you during the time we had but I did! Do you not feel anything? Then yeah, maybe I should just drop it-"
Yoongi grabs his face and slams their lips together, shutting him up from saying anything more.
It was almost as if the world froze for a moment, all leading to this right here. Surprisingly their hearts didn't accelerate as they expected it to when they would imagine this moment in their heads, but instead it felt better.
They felt peaceful.
Complete and utter peace.
Slowly Yoongi pulls away, watching the way Hoseok tries to chase after his lips but slowly flutters his eyes, meeting Yoongi's gaze.
"The way I feel about you is something I can't even describe," Yoongi says, caressing his thumbs against his jaw, "I know I shouldn't do this..... But fuck! I can't leave you anymore."
Hoseok raises a hand to caress over Yoongi's hand, "Then don't.... Stay with me. I will follow you, everywhere you go, just please... Don't leave me again."
Those words alone felt like daggers to Yoongi's heart, fighting to keep his hard walls up no matter how hard Hoseok is trying to knock it down, "Even if I'm the son of a mafia leader, you still are willing to stay with me?"
For a moment Hoseok remains quiet, almost as if he's battling a war behind his eyes. However the second he meets Yoongi's eyes, he knew which side already won, "You think I will have a normal life after I killed someone? You think the police won't find my finger prints on the knife and on the man the second they find his body? My life.... It's over.... And I don't want to lose you too."
Yoongi frowns deeply to this, leaning his forehead against his with eyes closed, "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry," He whispers genuinely, "I'm right here, I'm not leaving you. I promise."
"You're sorry, but I'm not," Hoseok whispers back, leaning to his lips, "I will protect you, just like I know you will protect me."
"Without a doubt," And their lips meet once again, this time with Hoseok crawling his way to straddle Yoongi's lap, pouring his heart and soul so the other can feel what he's been yearning for.
That night was the night Hoseok vowed to never leave Yoongi's side, no matter the obstacle that approached their future.
This night.... Became the beginning of their end.
