Maddie and Ernesto were preparing for their big performance. Ernesto was wearing a blue mariachi's outfit and was using Hector's guitar with Maddie's permission. Maddie was wearing a blue salsa dress. She was planning to confess to Ernesto today that the baby boy he saw Imelda holding was his son and Imelda's nephew. She was going to tell him after the performance.

After they were all ready to go, Ernesto and Maddie starts to sing. "Remember me though I have to say goodbye. Remember me, don't let it make you cry. For even if I'm far away, I hold you in my heart. I sing a secret song to you

As Ernesto and Maddie were singing, they got to the top of the stairs. Their voices were very beautiful put together. Everybody loved the De la Cruz couple. Maddie was very proud of how far they had come since they met. She loves Ernesto with all that she is and has.

As they reached the top. Everybody was so in awe of their voices that no one heard the snap of a rope except for Maddie who stopped singing and looked up and saw that the bell above them was going to fall on top of them and kill them. She needed to save her true love. "Ernesto look out!" Said Maddie pushing him away from the bell. The bell falls and everything goes black for Maddie. But she only hopes that she saved her husband's life. But little does she know that she didn't, he died with her that day.
