「Epilogue I」
Why do birds suddenly appear?
Every time you are near,
Snape overlooked the entire castle from the Astronomy tower, with his half-lidded sunken eyes scanning his surroundings.
A small gust of air passed him by, making his short-lengthened black hair flow through the wind, along with his black robe fluttering and dancing through the air.
He stood and watched as the Hogwarts Express train drove away from the castle in the distance, as he suddenly recalled a certain troublesome Rosewood riding the train with their twin brother as well.
Just like me, they long to be,
Close to you,
The head of the Slytherin house sighed as he washed away any thoughts that he might have for the Rosewood. What really mattered to him is that they're gone for a few months, at least.
So he'll have plenty of time to regain his composure and recollect his usual stern thoughts by the time the next school year begins.
Snape said nothing as he walked away from the balcony of the tower, making his way down the stairs with a deadpan look on his face. He just recalled that Dumbledore had called for him to the headmaster's office to discuss something important.
Even though Dumbledore didn't say what they were going to discuss right away, Snape knew that it had something to do with (Y/N) Rosewood,
and their presence in the castle.
Why do stars fall down from the sky?
Every time you walk by,
When Snape arrived to the entrance of the headmaster's office, he silently muttered the password to the griffin statue in front of him.
A somewhat loud rumbling sounds erupted from the statue, as it started to spiral itself upwards. As the statue did this, flights of stairs that followed the spiral-like pattern of the movement of the statue, appeared.
Another rumbling sound erupted from upstairs, indicating that the movement of the statue has stopped. Snape took this as a sign that he is ready to go upstairs and see the headmaster himself.
Just like me, they long to be,
Close to you,
Snape knocked on the door thrice, before it opened to reveal Dumbledore's unusually wide yet mystifying office. Books were either stacked up or lined up in bookshelves neatly.
Moving pictures of previous headmasters were placed in order, with their name plates hung neatly underneath the polished frames.
Another set of stairs led to the second floor on the far side of the room, where red medium-sized curtains were placed in the balcony, shielding the insides and contents of the second floor.
Not that Snape cares about that anyway.
Snape decided to look around the office since Dumbledore didn't seem to be in the room just yet. However, he stopped this thought abruptly when Dumbledore suddenly came up behind him.
"Ah, Severus," Dumbledore spoke up, making Snape turn his attention towards him. "I was wondering where you've gone to right after the feast."
"I was merely taking a stroll around the castle as all the meddling kids have gone home." Snape responded coldly. "It is the only moment of peace I can get from time to time."
Dumbledore lets out a hearty chuckle as he walked around Snape, and towards his desk. "Ah, it is quite lonely without the children here for the summer, is it not?"
"You sent for me, headmaster?" Snape decided to get to the point right away, as he didn't want to waste any more time. Idle chat isn't something this man is very fond of.
Dumbledore turned around to observe Snape through his half-moon spectacles, as he stopped right in front of his desk.
The headmaster's eyes had an indescribable glint while staring right at the potion's master, until he opened his mouth to respond.
"Yes," replied Dumbledore. "I would like to ask you something about Mr./Miss (Y/N) Rosewood."
On the day that you were born,
The angels got together and decided to create a dream come true,
Snape knew what his purpose was for coming here, though it still felt a bit surprising when Dumbledore mentioned (Y/N).
"You see, I've always heard rumors flying around, that a particular Rosewood twin has the ability to take a look into the future." Dumbledore continued as he started to walk around his office, glancing over at his books and the frames on the wall. "This all started when this Rosewood kept sending... hints to Mr. Draco Malfoy and Mr. Harry Potter during their first flying lessons."
Snape kept his mouth shut while his eyes followed Dumbledore's movements around the office.
"When Mr. Potter had broken one of the rules during this lesson, Mr./Miss Rosewood had a completely different reaction," Dumbledore glanced over to Snape. "It was happiness - they even went as far as to congratulate him as he was taken away by Professor McGonagall."
"Headmaster," Snape finally spoke up. "What are you trying to say?"
Dumbledore smiled warmly at the potions master, before replying to his question.
"I have a feeling," He said, turning away from Snape. "that they might be more than just someone who can see the future."
So, they sprinkled moon dust in your hair of gold,
and starlight in your eyes of blue,
"I am aware that you've told me about (Y/N) before, and their interaction with Quirrell in the trophy room." Dumbledore continued as he walked over to his chair. "You have been keeping an eye on him ever since the first day of school."
The headmaster took a seat on his chair, silently sighing in satisfaction through his nose, before eyeing Snape with a small twinkle in his eyes.
The head of the Slytherin house immediately knew that look;
It was the look that Dumbledore always had whenever he wanted to know something that interests him.
"Though, I can't help but to think that... there was more than just an idle chat of how Quirrell knows who (Y/N) actually is."
That is why all the girls in town,
Follow you all around,
"Perhaps you may know something about that, Severus?"
Snape and Dumbledore stared at each other for a while, until Snape sighed and broke the eye contact by glancing away from the headmaster with the same half-lidded eye look.
"I have only told you everything I've heard, headmaster." Snape said. "That is all."
Dumbledore kept staring, observing and now feeling a bit skeptical of the black haired man.
Though, he knows that he wouldn't be able to do something, so Dumbledore closed his eyes and leaned back on his chair.
"Ah, I see." said Dumbledore. "Well, if you do find something, I trust that you'll be able to tell me, won't you, Severus?"
"Of course." Snape said briefly with a nod.
The answer was enough to satisfy Dumbledore, so he gave him another warm smile as he glanced over to his resting fiery red phoenix near the stairs.
"Well, that is all I needed to know." Dumbledore nodded. "You may go, Severus."
Snape nodded in acknowledgement before turning around, his cape fluttering softly behind him that it almost felt dramatic.
He was about to place his hand on the handle of the door, until Dumbledore spoke from his desk.
"Ah, Severus." The headmaster called out from behind. "Do look after (Y/N) Rosewood, will you not?"
"I do not know how to say this, but they always seem to be lonely yet bitter and resentful at the same time." Dumbledore added.
Snape didn't respond to that for a few seconds, as he was deep in his thoughts about how Dumbledore even managed to notice something like that.
Nonetheless, Snape turned around to face Dumbledore. "Understood."
Just like me, they long to be,
Close to you,
It didn't take Snape long enough to fully leave Dumbledore's office and walked back to his own classroom in the dungeons.
Everything felt so gloomy and dark, especially when there are no Slytherin students nearby the dungeons - the deafening silence didn't help either.
Though for Snape, this is more than a blessing, as he is always constantly dealing with children who always manages to piss him off, at least, twice a day.
He walked over to his dark desk, and gently retrieved a familiar bitten apple from one of his robe pockets.
Snape stared at it for a moment, until he scoffed and placed it on the desk, his dark eyes narrowing at it.
"So, this is why you were asking that stupid question the other day." He sighed heavily, and brought his fingers to the bridge of his large nose, rubbing it in frustration. "How troublesome."
Snape leaned back on his chair, thinking about his discussion with Dumbledore just now.
On the day that you were born,
The angels got together and decided to create a dream come true,
Snape knew that Dumbledore would be up to something again if he knew everything about (Y/N).
He's already being so subtle when it comes to Harry's safety; why should (Y/N) be any different?
In a way, he was kind of glad that he only told Dumbledore that (Y/N) is not what he thinks they are. They are not normal, to put it shortly.
When he heard Quirrell's voice and a familiar voice responding to his words in trophy room, when he was patrolling the halls, Snape knew that something was off.
He was surprised to see one of his students talking and started to discuss about how a person named 'Erised' brought them to this world, indicating that they are not even from somewhere around here at all.
Their tone of voice was confident and strong as well, quite the difference from their usual silly and happy-go-lucky vibes that Snape picked up from them.
He hesitantly left after a few seconds of hearing them talk about "having a different route to follow", when a prefect saw him standing right beside the trophy room.
Snape didn't want to look suspicious or anything, and judging from the conversation, it was clear that this was something that shouldn't be brought to public attention.
Instead, he kept confronting Quirrell in every moment he can get alone with him. Hoping to get more information, and make him spill his plans while he's at it. To which he failed, obviously.
When the pieces started to fit together; the whole seer rumors that centered around (Y/N), and that they aren't from this world, made him assume that (Y/N) must know things that others didn't.
They were like an omnipresent person in this case.
If Dumbledore knew about this, who knows what kind of things he would do to get (Y/N) in danger?
He was against the idea, especially when they remind him of the late Lily Potter.
So, they sprinkled moon dust in your hair of gold,
and starlight in your eyes of blue,
Snape stood up from his chair, and walked over to the Slytherin common room to see if any of his students had left anything or done something in their dorm rooms.
As he did this, he kept telling himself that the whole idea of keeping (Y/N)'s identity from Dumbledore is stupid, yet he doesn't even know why he does this in the first place.
But, maybe,
Just maybe,
He might finally have something to live for again.

That is why all the girls in town,
Follow you all around,
"Ah, come on, Willy!" A freckled boy whined from his room, cornering a small mole-like creature in the corner.
The creature was holding on to a golden necklace, embracing it as if it's the last food they'll ever have in the world.
"Willy, please , give it back." The boy pouted, crouching down to look at the creature with sad ocean blue eyes. "That necklace is really important to mummy." He said, while eyeing the necklace, and thinking of multiple ways to lure the creature in and snatch it away from them.
He eventually gave up, and started telling the creature why it's so important to him in the first place.
"Grandma Tina gave it to me, you see." He casted his gaze down to the floor, as the creature's eyes started to gloss, and their expression slowly morphing into a sad one. "She said that Grandpa Newt gave it to her when they got together, and told me I should give it to someone who I want to be with when I grow up."
The creature looked at the necklace, then back at the boy with a thoughtful, sad look. They made a low chipping noise before gently walking over to the boy, and placing the golden necklace on his feet.
The curly haired boy smiled warmly at the creature, and began to pat its head gently. "I'm glad you understand, Willy." He chuckled. "But, don't just take things away like that next time!"
Just like me, they want to be,
Close to you,
"Now come on, let's get you to your friends." The boy gently scooped the creature up from the ground, carrying it as if it was a baby. He stepped out of his room, and softly pushed the door close.
However, before he could fully walk away, he noticed something in the name plate from his door that made him stop in his tracks.
The boy squinted his eyes and tip-toed to take a closer look to see what made it look so different.
It didn't take him long enough to find out that some of the shiny molded-designs of different types of insects that decorated his name plate, were gone.
He glanced down at the Niffler on his arms, who slowly looked away while sweat dropping and chipping nervously.
"You're going to have to explain a lot tonight, young man." The boy sighed and arranged the name plate, since it was tipped to left when he came out, indicating that Willy must've moved it while he was getting the shiny insects on his name plate.
The blue-eyes boy walked away with another sigh, leaving to go to the basement where all the other nifflers were.
The name plate tipped to the left again, shortly after he fixed it,
and it read,
Rolf Scamander
