Saved By a Nobody

I have not finished the anime cause I'm watching it in English on toonami.

"That Soma. I hate that personality." I stormed off as I stepped out for some fresh air. This was better. I loved the gentle breeze of the night.
"Help...please." I heard a low voice from the alley.
"Anyone...someone..."
I walked over and peeked, as I seen someone on the ground in a red puddle, trying to get off the ground. I ran to him to try and help, but as I passed the dumpster, a sharp pain hit my shin as I fell over. There was another person with a pipe, which explains my aching leg. I crawl to the wall as I turn to look at them. I didn't recognize the man. The injured man then stood up like nothing happened. He was holding a blood packet. He fooled my nose. They knew how to lure me in. I tried limping off but two others cut blocked my path. I don't recognize any of them. I limped back into the alley to a door. I tried to open it but it was locked. I was cornered by four strangers. One reached for me as I ducked and punch him in the balls. He bent over in pain before he backhanded me. My face stung but I couldn't just do nothing. As I went to make another move, my leg stopped me before another grabbed my blazer and threw me down, ripped it and some of the buttons on my shirt.
"Isn't that a sight boys." Said the man who threw me. I covered my chest.
"Aw. Don't be shy, God Tongue." The first man grabbed my hands as I struggled to push him, he pinned me.
"Don't worry, Erina. We'll take extra special care of...gah?!" As I though I was about to be a cake for those freaks to enjoy, a fist hit the one that was on me. The body of the figure landed on his feet over me before he kicked the man back.
"Can you stand?" He said, with a calm but serious tone.
"Y-yes. I can." I went to get up, having to use his arm to pull myself up.
"His muscles are so tense yet not huge and bulky. It doesn't even seem like he's flexed them yet." I whisper to myself. "With that hoodie he has on, he looks thin and weak. It's still 4 on 1, and one has a metal pipe. This idiot should have saved himself or gone for help."
"I need you to back up Miss." He said as the 4 was getting ready to fight him. I wanted to scold him like an idiot needs but right now, he's the only thing protecting me from those 4 assaulters. I nodded and limped to the back alley wall.
"My life is in the hands of a nobody. Great."

Two of the males charged at him, one grabbing a glass bottle from the dump and the other with nothing. As he swung with the bottle, this nobody just smacks his hand, causing him to miss before he was punched in the face. The unarmed one went in for a punch but the nobody caught his hand.
"Really?" He said as the unarmed man looked scared. It took that one action to stop him in his tracks. He let go and hooked him into the dumpster.
"What the hell?!" The one with the pipe sounded a bit scared. The one with the bottle got back up and growled in anger of his busted nose.
"Last chance, leave. Now."
I'd be lying if I said he did scare me a little bit. He's using both action and intimidation to psych them out. But still, he has three more to take out.
"Does he really think he can win? Can he?"
All three charged him this time. One went in and attempted to tackled him, but he seemed to have used his own force to hold him back. But the same pipe that hurt my leg collided with his skull. My heart skipped as his head swung to the side and the first man tackled him to the ground. He proceeded in trying to beat him. He had his arms up but I could see the blood sliding down from the side of his head. I was scared even more now. The one with the pipe turned towards me and took a step towards me but stopped. I looked down and seen the the nobody had the man on top of him by the throat and his other hand on his ankle.
"You don't know when to quit huh?" He swung the pipe like a golf club. The nobody moved his head, enough so that it missed him, but hit the man's partner.
"Oh sh**?! You little!" He went for a downward swing but the nobody kicked the unconscious man into him, making him fall backwards. He stood up shaking his head before a glass bottle broke over him. He stood there with his head down, almost like he was paused in place. He slowly turned his head as the man looked terrified before he was punched harder than the rest. It was almost like he fell down. No doubt he was out. But that pipe man came back but had the pipe turned to a sharp end as he slashed his back. He fell to his knees in pain.
"Make sure everyone else is out before you let your guard down."
"Who said my guard was down?"
The pipe man swung but turned, took the hit with his left arm and with his right, he got a clean hit with a haymaker, knocking back, hiring his head on the ground, finally knocking him out.
"He... He really beat them." I said, amazed by his victory. He walked over and looked at me.
"Are you ok now Miss?"
"E-Erina. And yes." I took a step but my leg felt like it was hit with a bat...or well pipe I guess. I began to fall but was caught by this stranger.
"Here." He slow and gently lifted me up. "I'll carry you." I could tell his left arm was in pain, I could feel it was swollen against my calves. But before I could abject, he was opening the door that was locked earlier. He must have used it to get here.
"What room are you in?"

I knocked on my door, hoping Hisako was there.
"Miss Erina? Is that you?" The door opened. "I was wondering what was...uh?!" She was shocked to see me in someone's arms.
"Wait a second, is he bleeding?" He walked me in and laid me on the bed before he fell over on the floor. She looked at him before looking at me.
"I'm fine. If you can patch. Him up please do."
Hisako ran to the bathroom and cam back with the first aid kit. She carefully cleaned his wounds and actually put some stitches in his head. I knew she was amazing at medicinal cooking but I didn't know she was able to stitch and clean wounds so professionally.
"Wow Hisako. That was some display of skill."
"Oh. It's nothing miss Erina. I just learned so just in case you were hurt I could help you." She was blushing as she said this. "Oh. Speaking of which, let me see your leg." She pulled down my stocking, her soft fingers rubbing down my leg. But the moment she touched the swollen spot of my shin I flinch in pain. Hisako jumped.
"I'm sorry... Oh. It's swollen pretty bad. We should put some ice on it first." She got a ice pack and put it against my leg. I winced in pain.
"I'm sorry Erina, but this will bring down the swelling." After the swelling went down she wrapped it in an ace bandage and said I should stay off of it cause she's not sure if it's broken. She did the same to...
"I forgot to ask his name." I facepalmed with a sigh. Anyway, she did the same to his arm. She has him in her bed and said she'd share mine. I just thought it was an excuse to sleep beside me but I let her have this since she patched us up.
"We'll go by the hospital in the morning ok miss Erina?"
"Ok Hisoka." I smiled and placed a hand on her cheek. "Thank you."
She stared at me as if I was an angel. Her face was flustered but she smiled. She placed her hand on mine.
"Miss Erina, you don't have to thank me. I do this for you no matter what. I'll always be by your side."
"I know Hisako." I smiled and turned around before I blushed. That's was new. I smiled as I noticed a big space between us.
"You don't have to sleep so far away. It's fine if you want to be a little closer."
I could hear her thinking as she slowly got closer. I sighed as I got closer as my was in her face.
"I don't think I can sleep with your hair in my face."
"Oh. Then..." I flipped over slowly, not to hurt my leg. "Is this better?" She blushed before nodding slowly. I closed my eyes and got comfy. She did too. Sometimes she's just too cute.

In the morning I woke up with a slight pain in my leg. When I opened my eyes, Hisako was cuddled against me. Her face was in my chest and her arms around me. She had the cutest look on her face as she slept. I smiled and stroked her hair. I put my arm around her and took her phone and snapped a picture of us. And made it Her screensaver then sent it to me.
"Hehe. Can't wait to see her expression." I said to myself.
"I bet she'll be flushed and confused at the same time." Said a male voice. I couldn't turn around bit I knew it was the stranger that saved me.
"Oh. So you're awake too?" I asked.
"Yeah. Your friend, Hisoka, was it?"
"Hisako."
"Oh. Sorry. Well, she checked on me at 4 this morning. I woke up coughing and tried moving around. I think I was still fighting in my dreams. Anyway, she called me down and went to the kitchen to make me a medicinal soup she said."
"Then how come I didn't smell it?"
"She took me outside the room. Said she didn't want to disturb her precious Erina."
"Oh really." I smiled.
"Anyway, you better be glad I'm grateful. I could've just sent have you sent to the hospital where you would have been cold and uncomfortable and probably catch something. But because you saved me, Hisako patched you up and put you in her bed. So you better thank her when she wakes." She mumbled in her sleep. I smiled and rubbed her head.
"I will. And thank you, Miss Erina. And I'm sorry for my passing out."
I remained silent for a moment while I thought.
"What's your name?"
"Hm? Oh. Well, you can call me Ydobon Emos (Ee·dough·bon Ee·mo·s). I'm no one important, just some nodoby."
"Well, Ydobon Emos, tell me, why did you choose to put you life on the cutting board for me? As of what I can tell, you have no idea who I am. You didn't even no my name? So why did..."
"So knowing you is important to saving you?" He said, cutting me off. "I seen someone who was about to be violated by four punks. Why wouldn't I try to save you?"
"I mean... There was four of them. You could've ended up dead."
"You could have too?"
I remained silent after that. He put his life on the line so I'd have a better chance?
"Plus, I knew I could take them. Yes, I did get injured, but I had one thing they didn't. Expienece."
"You saying you get into lots of fights?"
"Not REALLY. But I've been in enough to read opponents and know if someone is an amateur or has some skill." He groaned as it sounded like he sat up.
"Hey. Don't strain yourself you knuckle head."
"Heh. Don't worry Miss. I'm fine."
"Speaking of which, how is your head?"
"One hell of a migraine. Guess you could call it a pipe-graine?"
"Was... Was that an attempt at a joke?"
"I know, it sucked."
"Indeed."

After 30 minutes, there was a yawn from Hisako. She nuzzled into me lazily.
"Is it morning yet?" She asked.
"Yes Hisako. But if you're still sleepy, you could at least let me go so I can get up."
"Huh? Let go?" Her eyes slowly opened. After a 5 second wait, she blushed a deep red and moved back quickly, falling off of the bed. I leaned over the edge.
"Are you ok?"
"I'm fine, Erina." She said, she face clearly showing her embarrassment.
Ydobon coughed a bit, grabbing our attention. Hisako got up and checked on him.
"How are you feeling Mr. Emos?" She asked.
"Better thanks to you. I owe you my life, sweetie." He said. This caught both me and Hisako by surprise. There was a slight tint of blush on her.
"Sweetie? Is there something going on I don't know about?" I asked, just to make sure. Hisako seemed to panic a little as she jumped up.
"N-no!? Nothing is going on! I don't know why he called me that, i swear!"
"Oh. Sorry. I didn't mean it to be flirtish or anything. I just said it cause it's how I refer to girls I'd like to get to know or become friends with." He coughed again.
"It's just my manner of speaking."
"Oh. Well I had to make sure. Hisako is always around me so I had to make sure she wasn't keeping secret dates from me."
"W-what? No. I'd never."
I chuckled. I knew this but sometimes it's just too easy to tease her.
"Anyway, princess, what are you doing two doing here? Part of that culinary school?" Ydobon asked.
"Totsuki, and yes, we are."
"Heh. I knew it. By how well Hisako's soup was, it was my first guess."
Hisako smiled.
"Thanks, but I'm no where as great as miss Erina. She's the best chef I've ever met, and she's even been named the God Tongue."
"Really? You must be a fantastic kisser if you're called that."
I small bit a blush came to my face, just a small bit.
"You idiot! Its because of how well I can taste the food and ingredients of the dishes I eat!"
"God. Geez. It was just a joke. Don't have to yell my ear off." He scratched his ear with a sigh. I huffed but calmed down.
"Well it wasn't very funny." I sighed and went to stand but a bolt of pain went through my leg, causing to lose balance and fall forward. Before I could come close, a strong arm caught me.
"Be more... Careful princess." Ydobon said. He was holding me with his good arm, but his face showed he was hurting.
"Idiot. Why'd you just up in your condition?" I said as Hisako came over and helped me stand.
"I couldn't just let you hit the floor. Besides, it's fine..." He slowly held his head. Hisako sat me beside him on his bed. She picked up some pills on the counter.
"These are for headaches and migraines. I got them as the store in town. It's just the OTC stuff." She fixed him a glass of water as he put thrm in his mouth and drunk the water to get them down. He laid back down. He didn't really complain about it. Never the less, we'll be heading to the E.R. later so I shouldn't worry. Worry? Why would I worry? I don't know him. It's just... He risked himself for my life. And what's more, a stranger.

-9 hours later-

Hisako finally got done here and went with us to the E.R. We told her to finish her Academy work for today. I was excused, due to my condition.
My leg was fine and so was Ydobon's arm. The doctor was impressed with Hisako's patch ups and even offered her a job, which she declined. Though, he wasn't sure about his head injure. He says he didn't see anything to worry about but to keep an eye on him if we can to be safe. I told him how we just met that day, but he didn't really respond. We headed back to the dorm. I want to know more about him.
"So, Ydobon Emos. What do you do, you know, beside saving strangers in tough spot?" I asked him.
"Well, I workout, I jog, practice throwing knives, and I experiment foods." He said, laying down.
"Experiment with foods? What kinds?"
"I'll mostly try mixing seasoning and sauces on foods. Like Galic and ranch seasoning mix into honey bbq sauce then cook it with chicken."
"Sounds rather simple but also good." Hisako replied.
"Turn, but two taste both seasonings, but have to use more ranch cause it's not as strong as garlic."
"I guessed so." I said. "Is there anything else you've mixed?"
"I tried a teriyaki and sweet and sour mix, add a drop of pickle juice, added some herbs, then soaked some chicken balls in it, (it's like a chicken nugget, but it's in a ball shape and tastes better) then baked it so it stuck to the chicken."
"How was it?" Hisako and I asked at the same time.
"It was actually good. I don't know if it'll be shop material but maybe I'll make it for you two one day." He stretched, before his left arm twitched. He held it with a pained look on his face.
"Guess you can't right now, huh." I said. "You can't use that arm and I can't stand on my leg. Guess we'll both be put of the kitchen." I let out a small chuckle before he smiled at me.
"Yeah. I guess we are, princess." He said with a wink. I acted like I didn't noticed.
Did he wink? Is he flirting? I mean, I wouldn't be surprised if he did. I was brought out of my thoughts when he hit the floor.
"Ydobon?! What was he doing?" I asked. Hisako rushed over.
"He looked like her was gonna say something but fell before he told." She answered. "Mr. Emos? Are you ok?"
He held his head as Hisako helped him up.
"Everything started spinning... Then you helped me up..." He said slowly.
"Don't try anything. You need those pain pills the doctor gave you." She rushed to the cabinet and came back with two pills and a soda.
"Here."
He took the and downed half the soda.
"Just let me sit here for a moment..."
"You need to be more careful. I don't want someone dying in our room."
"Heh. It'll take a lot more then this to kill me."
Things grew quiet.
"Hey, Erina. I know I'm gonna be stuck here with you until I'm able to move without falling over, but can I have your number?"
"Why? We're gonna be in here Any way."
"Well, it's obvious I'm in worst condition. I know my head was injured enough, and the fact I havr no where to..." He stopped himself.
"N-Never mind. I think I'll take a nap."
"Hey. What were you about to say?" I asked.
"..."
"Hey. Hisako told you about me and herself. The least you can do is tell us about you."
He didn't speak for a moment but then sighed.
"I'm just some nobody that has nowhere to go. I got fired from my last job and was trying to work here cause of my food testings. Last girlfriend, cheated on me with someone older, no family that I'd like to stay with. I'm just a walking example of bad luck."
I paused. I could hear pain behind his words.
"Hmm..." I hopped up, and lumped over to his bed almost falling. I sat on the edge.
"Forget about working here."
"Huh?" He turned and sat up, looking me in you eyes. "What do you mean?"
"You're stronger, tough, and you have some food experience. So, why not work for me as my personal body guard?"
"What?!" He shout, surprised. "Serious? You want me as a bodyguard? Why not get a big scary one?"
"Because then I'd get sick of looking at them. Not to mention they mostly just know about fighting and protecting. All block heads. You on the other and fight and experiment with food."
He sat there and thought.
"It's the best deal ever. You'll get paid , and you'll always be around miss Erina, like me." Hisako said, smiling.
He muffled to himself.
"Pay. A place to stay. Place with plenty of food. Two beautiful girls. Where I can train and cook."
"Um. What was that?" I asked.
"Miss Erina. Miss Hisako." He kissed my cheek and then Hisako's.
"I except..."

*SMACK!*

I smack him across the face.
"Good! I look forward to when you're better." I said, I bit flustered by his kiss but at the same time, kisses that he did.
"Erina?! You made him hit his head?!" Hisako shouted.
"Oh sh**! I didn't mean to!"

I hope you enjoyed this long first chapter. I just came up with his name out of the blue. Can anyone figure how?

"I'm fine. Really." Ydobon said as I put an ice pack on his head.
"You said it yourself. Your head was injured so stop arguing." I snapped back.
"Just please be careful both of you." Hisako said, a sweat drop rolling down her cheek.
"I was just thanking you both for everything. Being nice gets you slapped, then I don't know if I'll last on this job."
"Mmmm!" I growled. "S-sorry."
"What was that?"
"I'M NOT REPEARING MYSELF!"
