Erin and Sonja: Kick Back

Erin was asleep. It had now been three weeks since Erin and her best friend Sonja had been on that journey to help StormBand.

Erin was an orange American Shorthair tabby cat. Her friend, Sonja , was a white cat with blue eyes and a fluffy pelt. Erin's roommates

were Jake, a small, brown tabby tom and their human was Evie. Sonja's human was Millie. "Erin! Erin! Look at me! I'm chasing a red dot on the wall! It's so fun! You should play too!" Said a random Jake. "Not now, Sonja just left and now I'm tired." Answered Erin.

Jake ran into a wall. "It's fun! It's fun! Look!" Jake said, but ran into a wall again. "It looks like this fun hurts," Said Erin. "Wait......" Said Jake, noticing for the first time his pain. "You're right. This fun does hurt." He stopped to lick his paw, but then re-started. Erin rolled her eyes. "Jake," She mumbled. Then, she continued her nap.Erin woke up after a paw went over her face. "Jake!" Erin yelped.

"Watch me!!!" Said Jake. He rammed his head into the wall. "Remember it hurt last time?" Asked Erin. "That pain was a fun pain!"

Said Jake. "Okay....." Said Erin. The door opened. Evie was home. "Hi Erin!" Said Evie. "Meow," Said Erin. "Hi Jake!" Said Evie next.

Jake purred. "Let me just go and fix our dinner," Said Evie after patting Jake on the head. Dinner was again, tuna fish. It was bedtime after they watched the movie Fantastic Mr.Fox. Erin slept in a box with a towel in it. Jake slept in the one next to her. Evie had made it.

It was cool, really, the two boxes were connected, with a hole in each box and a tunnel connecting it so they could go visit each other. Also, there was a staircase in each box and connected to that was a whole upper room. The upper room was actually the air vent. But they could also get out and out of it as they please. Erin then woke up at the sound of clanking metal. Jake must have gone for a walk. Erin thought. Erin went into the air vent. It was not Jake in there. It was simply Sonja. "Sonja?! What are you doing here?" Asked Erin. "I need to show you something," Said Sonja. "Follow me," Erin followed Sonja. What could she want at this time at night. "Look," Sonja pointed her tail at something. There was a small female siamese cat, a calico tom, and a fiery red female cat. "This is Sandy, and this is Dave," Sonja said pointing at the siamese and calico."Oh! And this is Red." "Where did they come from?" Asked Erin. "We have a leader too!" Said Red suddenly. "Is she with you?" Asked Erin. "It's a he," Said Dave. "Oh," Said Erin, slightly embarrassed. Then a white and gray tom came out. "Is it him?" Asked Erin. "No, that's Will." Answered Sandy. "Anyway, who would think Will is our leader?" Red shot Sandy a look. Sandy then stopped talking. Then a big persian with a white coat appeared. "That's Storm. He's our leader." "Hey Storm! Can you tell me why you're here?" Asked Erin. "Storm and the others are from the cat lady next door to me,"

Explained Sonja. "They need our help." "Our help?! Remember that time we had to save StormBand and how exhausting that journey was? I never want to do anything like that ever again!" "I know," Said Sonja. "But this is going to be a downstairs cat lady adventure." "Fine, i'll go." Said Erin. "Now before we go, we need one more thing." Said Sonja. "What" Asked Erin. "Jake," Said Sonja. "Now Jake's special," Erin mumbled. When Erin got Jake, they left. "So where do we go? I only know the top apartment," Asked Erin. "I know! I know!" Said Red. "No you don't!" Said an angry Will. "We don't even know the way out!" "Oh yeah," Said an embarrassed Red. "I forgot." Will slapped his tail on his head. "At least I know the way back," Said Storm, shooting Will and Red a glance. Will and Red shrank back. "Follow me," Said Storm. He led the way to a hole in the wall and slid through it. "Follow me! I know the way!" He yelled from the tunnel. He was followed by Dave, than Sandy, than Red, than Jake, than Erin, no Sonja. "Sonja come on! We're all waiting for you!" Said Erin. "Is it wet and mucky? Something that might ruin my pelt?" Asked Sonja. "No, it's not wet at all." Answered Erin. "What about mucky?" Asked Sonja. "It's fine," Said Erin. "Okay then...." Said Sonja. Then she slid in. "Not wet, not mucky but slippery!" Said Sonja. "Just stay in!" Said Erin. "I will. I like slippery things. They soothe me." Answered Sonja. Then she trotted past Erin. About five minutes later Storm called,"We have arrived!" Two cats were standing outside the door. "Oh,the nighttime guards," Erin heard Red mumble. The two guards were a gray female and a black and white male. "That's Cloudy," Said Sandy pointing to the gray female,"And that's Bobby." When they got closer, Bobby asked,"What's the password?" "Fish + Mice= Yum." Answered Storm. "Very well," Answered Cloudy. "We need to take these three to the cat king, King Kitty,or as we call him, King Annoying,"

Cloudy and Bobby led the way. "Is the King Annoying nice?" Asked Jake. "He can be, if you don't call him that," Answered Red.

"What should I call him then?" Asked Jake. "How about King Kitty?" Answered Sandy. "Ooh! I like that!" Said a purring Jake.

"But I thought Storm was in charge." Asked Sonja. "He is King Kitty's second in command." Answered Dave. "And I am his second in command." Said Will, puffing out his chest. "Here we are," Said Cloudy. "Meet King Kitty." King Kitty was an orange tabby. "He looks a lot like you,Erin." Sonja commented. Erin was not listening. "What seems to be the problem?' Asked Erin. "We are in need of a new chief." Answered King Kitty. "What happened to your old one?" Asked Sonja. "He left two moons ago and never returned." Answered Bobby. "We also have three cats who need to talk to you, Ginger, Hazel, and Honey." Said King Kitty. The three she-cats came up. Ginger was a pale ginger female, Honey was light brown, and Hazel was a really dark brown. "We saw him." Said Hazel. "Before he left." "Do you know where he went?" Asked Erin. "No, that's what we have to say." Said Ginger. "We need you to help us search for him. It's another quest." "When?" Asked Erin. "In the morning." Answered Ginger. That morning, Ginger,Hazel,Honey,Erin,Sonja, and Jake went out to find the chief. Sandy and Dave's kittens, Buddy,Mary, and Doris assisted on coming but Sandy had told them they would be staying with her to play 'Catch the Mouse'. The three had wanted to play Catch the Mouse more than go along on the mission to find the chief, and that was just fine. The six were now in the woods. "You really think the chief went this way?" Erin asked Hazel. "Kinda," Answered Hazerl. "So you don't know." Said Erin. "I never said that." Said Hazel. Then Jake padded over. "Hey! Why are you fighting? This adventure is supposed to be fun! Not un-fun." "That's, not a word," Corrected Sonja. "You made that up." "Let's just at least try to focus." Said Erin. "Well, Jake started it!" Sonja yoweled. "Hey you guys! Look!" Ginger suddenly said. "It's a cat! Maybe he can give us directions." "It's worth a shot," Agreed Erin. After everyone was there, Honey spoke up. "Hey you!" The cat looked down from sitting on a fence. "Me?" "Yes you!" The cat looked down. "The name's Toby." He said. Toby was a big, black cat. "We have to ask you some questions." Explained Sonja. "May I get your names first?" Asked Toby. "Sure," Said Erin. "Im Erin." "Nice to meet you, Erin."

Responded Toby. After Erin's welcoming, she was followed by the other cats. "Im Hazel!" "In case you don't know, im Jake!" "Honey."

"Sonja!" "Ginger here!" "Nice to meet all of you." Said Toby. "What can I do for you?" "We need to know if you have seen a cat that used to live with us. He is a mottled brown tom, just so you know." Toby grunted. "I'll give you my answer tomorrow." He said. Then he ran back into his house and went to sleep. "Well that was help." Said Ginger. "We barely got a word out of him." Erin looked at the sky. It was getting dark. "We should stay here for the night." She suggested. Sonja and Jake agreed. So did Hazel and Honey. Ginger did not. "I think we should sleep in a tree in the woods." She suggested. "Let's not." Said Sonja. "Y-yeah." Said a trumbling Jake. "I hear there's wolves in this part of town." "No there's not, Jake. Besides, you have never been in this part of town." Said Sonja. "Yes I have. I was at that pet shelter down there and the other cats down there told the most terrifying stories about the wolves in the forest."

"There fake." Said Hazel, trying to soothe Jake. "But we hear howling and-" Jake was cut off. "It's not the wolves." Said Honey.

"It's the dogs." "Yeah, those dumb mutts howl all night if the want to. They wake up all the cats in town." Agreed Ginger. "Where should we sleep?" Asked Sonja. "I'm cold." "We don't know." Itmited Erin. "Do you guys have an idea?" "I do! I do!" Said Jake. "Let's sleep in my old shelter, like the one before I was adopted!" Erin saw Sonja consider it. "Let's not." Said Honey. "Let's sleep in this nice bush." Suggested Hazel. Everyone was too tired to disagree. "Erin," Sonja whispered. "Is it okay if I sleep on you tonight? One time only?" "Why?" Asked Erin. "I don't like mud." Answered Sonja. "Okay fine." Said Erin. "Thanks," Purred Sonja. "You're a life saver."

Then, Sonja climbed up to Erin and layed on her. Erin did not fall asleep at all that night. That morning, Sonja was off Erin's back. Erin was up and so was the others. Now they were waiting for Toby to answer their question. "Do you think he forgot?" Asked Ginger. "No, he is probably still asleep." Answered Hazel. "I hope so," Responded Ginger. "Here he is now!" Said Jake. Then, a big, black shape appeared. "I have thought hard, and I did see him and I have decided to come with you." He's coming with us! Erin could hardly believe it! Toby was coming! But why? "Are you really going to leave your humans? Asked Sonja. "You guys left yours." Toby pointed out. "Yeah, but we plan on coming back to them after we find the chief." Answered Honey. "I never said I wasn't coming back." Answered Toby. "Okay then. Let's go!" Hollered Jake. Off they went. "So where did he go?" Asked Hazel. Toby shrugged. "So you don't know?" Asked Sonja.

"Oh, I know. You just need to have some patience." Answered Toby. "Okay. So where do we go?" Asked Jake. "Be quiet." Sonja snapped in his ear. "SO...." Said Sonja loudly trying to make herself heard. "Where do we go?" "Here," Said Toby. "Follow the scent trail." Then, he ran. They followed Toby's trail off a mountain, a hill, a town, and a single house. All took two more days. "How much longer?" Asked Sonja. "Where here." Said Toby. "Finally....." Huffed Sonja. "I thought my legs would fall off." "It seems as if the chief lives here now." Observed Ginger. "Who's going in there?" Asked Hazel. "I vote Honey." Said Ginger quickly. "Yeah, me too." Said Hazel. "Okay fine." Said Honey. She then slipped through the pet flap. You could tell she had found him because chatting meows were going on in there. Then, Honey squeezed out. "I got him to come!" She mewed excitedly. The chief had come. It was now time to go home.
