(y/n) POV

"Can I get you anything else?" I asked.

"I think we're good right now," one girl said. "Thank you."

I nodded and headed to a table that (f/n) had just seated.

"Good evening," I said, putting on a smile. "My name is (y/n), I'll be your server. Can I start you off with some drinks?"

"We'll just have water, please," one man said. The other nodded.

"I'll get those for you and be right back."

I headed to the kitchen and grabbed two glasses, filling them with ice and water. I hurried back to the table and set the two drinks down.

"Do you need more time or can I get you two something to eat?" I asked.

"What kind of pie do you suggest?" the two men questioned.

"Personally, I like the apple pie. We just made a fresh one this afternoon. There are only a few slices left."

"Perfect. We'll take three slices of that."

I nodded and was about to head off when I heard a voice in my head.

"(y/n), do not be alarmed. I am speaking to you through our minds. My name is Charles Xavier. The man with me is Erik Lensherr. When does your shift end?"

I turned around and stared at the first man: Charles. He had his fingers up to his temple.

"I get off in an hour," I thought.

"Would we be able to talk to you afterwards?"

I slowly nodded.

"Would you like me to wait on getting your pie, then?" I asked.

"That would be wonderful," the second man, Erik, said. "Thank you."

I nodded and hurried to continue waiting on my tables.

"So let me get this straight," I said quietly. "You two are gathering mutants to join you to learn how to use their powers and to stop a mutant villain?"

"Basically, yes," Erik replied.

"And how did you learn that I was a mutant?"

"We have this device back in New York that can detect the mutant genes inside people," Charles explained. "You were one of the people it located, along with your brother."

"You found Remy?" I asked, stunned.

I knew my brother was a mutant. He had black and red eyes and could blow things up with the touch of his hand. When I was a teenager, he was showing me his powers. Something happened and I managed to do the same thing. We didn't know how, but we kept it a secret. It was already tough with people knowing Remy was a mutant; they didn't need to know I was one too.

"Yes, we found him. Do you know where he is?"

"Of course. He's my brother. We manage to keep in touch, even with all the traveling he does. Although, before you ask me where he is, I know that he won't join you. He's always been a solo guy. That's part of why he left."

Charles and Erik nodded. I sighed and stood up, walking around the restaurant, cleaning up tables with a rag. The place was empty, aside from us. I had told my manager that I would close up, giving me time to talk with Charles and Erik.

"Honestly," I said. "I don't even know what my real power is. I know I have my brother's power to make things explode when I touch them, but I feel like there's more to it than that."

"What do you mean?" Erik questioned.

"I feel like a have a special connection with my brother. Normally, connections like mine are only for twins, yet we're five years apart. I can't explain it, but it's there."

"(y/n)," Charles said, looking straight at me. "We can help you truly discover your powers. We can help you control them and use them."

I thought for a minute, then smiled slightly, looking up at them.

"Give me ten minutes to finish cleaning and locking up," I told them.
