Alex POV
"We should think of code names," Raven said. "We're government agents now, we should have secret code names. I want to be called Mystique."
"Dang, I wanted to be called Mystique," Sean replied.
"Well, tough, I called it." Raven suddenly changed to look like Sean. Everyone in the room jumped slightly. Then, in Sean's voice, Raven said, "And I am way more mysterious than you." We all clapped in amazement as Raven changed back. "Darwin, what about you?"
"Well," he said. "'Darwin' is already a nickname, and, you know, it sort of fits. Adapt to survive and all. Check this out."
He stood up and walked over to a fish tank. I stared as he stuck his head into the tank. Suddenly, gills appeared on the side of his face. Darwin opened his mouth and smiled at us. We cheered as he pulled his head back out.
"Thank you, thank you," he said. He pointed at Sean. "What about you?"
"I'm going to be..." he said, thinking for a moment. "Banshee."
"Why do you want to be named after a wailing spirit?"
"You might want to cover your ears."
He stood up as we slowly covered our ears, unsure about what he was about to do. He knelt down at the end of the coffee table and inhaled sharply. He paused for a minute, smirking at us, before letting out a high pitched screech. The glass window suddenly cracked and shattered. We laughed in amazement.
"Your turn," 'Banshee' said, pointing to Angel.
"My stage name," she said, standing while removing her leather jacket, "is Angel." Sean whistled as she turned around. The tattoos on her back and shoulders suddenly emerged to form wings. "Kinda fits."
"You can fly?" Raven asked, leaning forward.
"Uh-huh. And..."
She pivoted slightly to face the now open hole in the wall. She opened her mouth, a fireball flying from it and landing on top of a statues head. We chuckled in amusement.
As Angel put her jacket back on, she looked at Hank.
"What's your name?" she questioned.
Hank looked slightly uncomfortable.
"How about Big Foot?" I suggested with a chuckle.
"Well, you know what they say about guys with big feet," Raven said. "And, uh, yours are kinda small."
"Okay, now," Darwin said as the others laughed. "Alex, what is your gift? What can you do?"
"Uh," I said, rubbing my head. "It's not, um... I just can't do it. I can't do it in here?"
"Can you do it out there?"
"Why don't you just do it out there?" Raven suggested.
Next thing I know, they're all cheering my name. I rolled my eyes and raised my hands for them to settle down, making them cheer.
"That's the spirit!" Darwin said.
I stood up and walked to the window.
"Get down when I tell you," I said, stepping outside.
"'Get down when I tell you,'" I heard Sean mimic.
I rolled my eyes and stood a few yards away from the statue Angel had hit earlier. The group laughed as they walked to hide behind the wall. I saw them peak around the corner to look at me.
"Get back," I said. They moved back, but a moment later reappeared. "Get back!" They didn't move. "Whatever."
Focusing, I channeled my power and began to move in a small circle. I could feel the power flowing through me. I swung beamed of energy at the statue, two missing, but one slicing it in half. The group laughed and clapped as I stepped back into the room. We took our seats once we had settled down a little.
"I think you should be called 'Havok,'" (y/n) said.
I jumped slightly. I had forgotten she was there since she had stayed quiet this entire time. I raised an eyebrow.
"Havok?" I asked questioned.
"Yeah. It sounds cool."
"Alright," I said after a moment. "Havok it is. What about you, (y/n)?"
"Yeah, girl," Sean said. "What can you do?"
She chuckled.
"It's hard to explain," she replied.
"Could you show us?" Hank asked.
"I don't think so."
"Why not?" said Darwin.
"I'm not really sure what my gift is. Before Charles and Erik found me, I had the same abilities as much brother. Now, I have the same abilities as they do. Look."
She moved her hand to the side. We all jumped when the table when flying to the side. We clapped for her.
"Impressive," Raven said. "So you can read minds now too?"
"Yeah."
"Read my mind," Sean said, leaning forward. "I'm thinking of a place in the world."
"Zimbabwe."
We all looked to Sean, who was smiling.
"She's right," he reported.
"Can you do anything else?" Raven asked.
"I don't know." She looked down at her hand and stretched it a little.
"You okay?" I asked.
"Yeah. I'm good."
"So, what now?" Angel asked.
"We could celebrate," I suggested.
