CHAPTER SEVEN.

CHAPTER SEVEN:
this isn't goodbye, it's a promise to see each other again.

After Stiles got into contact with his packmates, the energy changed between him and Kennedy. It wasn't necessarily a bad thing but it was definitely different. They both sat on the train station chairs, slouching and in their thoughts.

Kennedy's blue eyes glanced over at Stiles, she noticed how he seemed a tad more vibrant. Just looking at him she could tell that all his faith and hope had been restored. She couldn't help but smile a little as she watched him.

Stiles, who felt Kennedy's gaze, turned to look at her. His eyebrows raised and brown eyes wide, "What?"

Kennedy sighed before shaking her head. "I'm just really glad you're here," she told him softly.

Stiles leaned forward slightly to look at Kennedy's eyes at a better angle. "Me too," he nodded.

Kennedy gave him a small nod back.

Stiles head whipped to the side. "Did you hear that?"

Kennedy sat up. "Hear what?" She asked, her head tilted.

Stiles stood up and took a step foward. "It sounds like..."

Kennedy walked next to him, panic set on her face. "What? Stiles, what is it?"

Stiles eyebrows furrowed before looking back at Kennedy. "Lydia."

Kennedy blinked in shock. "You can hear her?"

Stiles nodded before walking off to follow Lydia's voice; Kennedy hot behind his trail. They walked through the tunnel that Trent showed them, a bright light at the end of it.

Stiles and Kennedy covered their eyes.

"What is that?" Kennedy asked, three shadows popping up from the light.

Stiles lowered his arm, "I think... I think it's my pack. Scott? Lydia? Malia?"

Kennedy's blue eyes were wide as she watched Stiles reach towards the white light. "No!" She yelled as she pulled his arm away. "You don't know what the hell this is, what if you end up like Trent?"

Stiles looked towards Kennedy who had pure fear written on her face, he licked his lips and placed his hands on her arms. "Kennedy, this might be out way out. I think they found a way to bring us back."

Kennedy shook her head in refusal. "But what if its not? What if its something worst?"

"Do you trust me?"

"Of course," Kennedy told him without hesitation.

Stiles turned his head back as if he heard them calling him again. "Trust me," he said earnestly, while he looked deeply into Kennedy's eyes.

Kennedy nodded, Stiles arm pushed her slightly back in protection. He reached his arm towards the tunnel, his hand tingled as it went through. Stiles jumped in shock, he stepped back and tumbled into to Kennedy.

"Stiles," Kennedy whispered breathlessly, her hands tightened around his arm. "What the hell?"

Stiles gulped. "I don't know."

Stiles took another step foward, put his arm in the opening before taking a step back once again. He smiled, "This is it. Kennedy, this is our way out! They figure it out!"

Stiles picked up the girl and twirled her around. "We're getting out!" He shouted as he put Kennedy down, the both of them looking into each others eyes.

Kennedy stepes back at the realization of how close they were. She cleared her throat before looking back at the opening.

Stiles put his hand out in front of her. "Together?" He asked as he ducked his head to look into her eyes.

Kennedy smiled widely. "Together."

Kennedy and Stiles simultaneously took a step toward the portal before being blown black. The white light turning a familiar green, just like when Trent disappeared. The two teens fell to the floor roughly, a burning sensation running through their bodies. Kennedy groaned in pain and Stiles quickly made his way towards her.

"What was that?" Kennedy asked, her voice raspy.

Stiles looked down at her before looked at the portal. He licked his lips, "I don't know."

Kennedy watched Stiles' face, his eyebrows twitched before he spoke up once again. "I'm gonna try something."

Already reading his thoughts, Kennedy shook her head in protest. "Stiles, no!" She yellsed, but it fell on deaf ears as Stiles made his way towards the light once more. She watched as he put his hand towards the light, his arm went through easily like before.

Stiles gulped as his eyes met Kennedy's, the realization htting them both at once.

Kennedy was still bound to the Wild Hunt.

Stiles openes his mouth to say something but Kennedy shut him down with the shake of her head. "It's okay," she whispered softly, her blue eyes glistened with so many emotions. "Go on."

"Kennedy I-"

"No, don't worry about me. I'll be okay."

Stiles shook his head. "This can't be right... maybe, maybe we can try again. We can-"

"Stiles," Kennedy cut off his rambling. "It's not a mistake. Nobody remembers me, I don't exist in that world."

"I'll remember you," Stiles insisted to her in a whisper.

Kennedy gave him a familiar sad smile, one he had come to know so well. She laughed lightly, trying to keep her tears at bay. She couldn't believe that she managed to gain the person she loved just to lose him all over again.

Kennedy wraped her arms around Stiles. "Thank you."

Stiles ducked and buried his head into her neck. "Don't thank me."

Kennedy pulled away to stare into his whiskey eyes, trying to remember every gold fleck that swims in them. "When you came here, it was different. I was able to move again and it became less gray. You were like a spark and you made it just a little bit more bearable."

"I'm gonna get you out of here," Stiles promised.

Kennedy shook her head. "It's okay, I have nothing left for me out there," she told him honestly. "I'm just glad I was able to say goodbye, you know, make my peace."

"I'm gonna get you out of here, that's a promise, me and the pack, its what we do."

Kennedy gave him a soft smile, not wanting to spend their last minutes together arguing. "Okay," she whispered as she wipe the betrayous tears that escaped from her eyes. "Goodbye Stiles."

The sight of Kennedy's doe eyes filled with tears and her plump lips shaped into a frown pulled at Stiles's heart strings.

He couldn't see how he, in another time, had manage to make a girl like Kennedy his girlfriend. Her wide blue eyes sparkle with every emotion, unable to hide her attempts at masking everything with a smile. Her smile a wide grin that you can't help but smile back at. A smile surrounded by pink shapely lips that were formed into a natural pout.

A small tinge of anger overcame Stiles as he looked at Kennedy for, what might be, the last time. He was mad that she had met the fate of the wild hunt and was taken from existence. He was mad at the loss of what could have been between them, if the supernatural hadn't ruined it for them both.

Stiles wasn't sure of much in that moment but he knew one thing for sure, he would have loved to love Kennedy Barnes.

"I'll see you soon, Kennedy."
