Chapter 29: Rice
There was no celebration to be had, neither the Senju or Uzumaki found propose as the entire affair warranted nothing onto them. As their vision of a wedding was that of a union between two souls whom would come to create another.
It was in disagreement that Naru had made a veniment argument with the Hokage for a plausible happiness yet to be found, only to be confronted with a complete negativity by a man he had believed to be insurmountable in positivity, harshly considered words were said; and, fuming in irritation he had left the small office. Only to come across his husband making quick pace in his own bided need to speak with Hashirama. Naruto had spoken bitter of the man with the mindset of a friend scorned, and stomped away from the area, confusing the stoic Uchiha with his anger and saying nothing upon to concerned questioning that forecame his outburst.
Under this mindset he fled to the training grounds, hoping to work through the fearsome emotion in a near positive manner. Jumping through Konoha unthinkingly, and foregoing the understanding he had already adapted to this time period, no step was made premature or assumptively.
It so happened by weakness of memory that no training was performed as plotted; he collapsed upon his knees. Digging clutching hands into the dirt for supporting balance, for all refrain he had managed to uphold until now pitiful sadness grasped him. Tears ripened he earth as sobbing shook his body. Underneath, kyuubi stirred in possibility; but the seal clamped upon the beast in restraint. Eastward, Naruto could glimpse -even with blurred vision, the sight of three training logs upstanding queued remembrance for the first time in many months.
"You are Madara's bride yes?" So spoke a droll voice, masking itself in the sound of boredom, Naru knew not what to make of it. Or she whom spoke it, so conveying of a distrust, even a dislike. Naruto turned, finding Uzumaki Mito as he'd expected, and ignoring the slight improper tone in addressing his husband the former Uzumaki gave her a smile to portray a strength he did not feel. The woman gave nothing in return, wearing upon her a stoic glare best suited for Tobirama's future wife, certainly not placing well with someone as Hashirama. However, even among her glacial gaze, it was where her eyes astrayed that brought him chill; for they rested firm upon his abdomen. "Tell me, what drew you to him?" Though simple the question lay uncomfortable onto him, with a weight he could not yet identify.
"He is good to me." For one such as him, there was little else to evaluate, a kind disposition was indicative enough to draw his attention. Though there was much more in eventuality that had him captivated by his husband, those reasonings were personal, and though he trusted the woman as an ally of the village; he could not yet trust her as a friend would. Still, he marked himself with a smile in polite conduct. "Why do you ask Mito-san?"
A shrew obfuscating grin molded onto the woman, unnaturally made, an expression she was certainly not adept at making. But meant to be well at ease in appearance, Naruto could only suppose that she was merely unaccustomed to Konoha. "Oh nothing really, I was simply curious. I had heard many a-tale of Uchiha Madara, he is well known to be a fearsome man. I wandered whom could possibly tame such an alpha."
A relief came upon him then, for the easy explanation. A giggle escaping him at her chosen words. "I certainly wouldn't say I 'tamed,' him!" Momentarily, it were as if he spoke to Kou, and the feeling was much welcomed, the ease in the atmosphere was settling; especially in juxtaposition to how he had felt previously.
A knowledge displayed itself in the Uzumaki's irises, Naruto watched her twine her fingers together under her sleeves. Oddly, her expression did not match the appearance of her irises, something was darkening them, perhaps not unnervingly, but Naruto had the impression it did not serve well; either that be upon him in particular, his clan, or the people of the settlement-cum-village he was uncertain.
Nonetheless, it was an abstract inclination he forced himself not to consider in depth. Instead, following rather meanderingly alongside his companion with an ease of place he had not felt for a few years -that is, since his being brought to this time. He whittled it down to the simplicity of having another borne Uzumaki about. Despite his own instinct speaking lowly of that opinion.
Wandering around the newly constructed Haruno district with conversation lightly made, Mito spoke to a topic he hadn't yet mentioned. It did not yet flare his caution, but it did halt an ease to their pleasant and peaceful topics. The woman's voice pitched lightly, kindly, nye compassionate, but the Uchiha felt a suspicion uprising at her tone -nevermind the choice of discussion.
"I do hear congratulations are in order Uchiha-san." Naru's arms raised in bumps. Granting her only the hint of a smile he may conjure forth through sere effort. The fake tilt of the woman's pink smile became visible then, Naru nearly glared upon it with the understanding he had come to forgo after having departed the Konoha he had grown up within; she was looking upon him as someone from his previous village had.
What he could not comprehend was her reasoning.
"You must be at least ten weeks along yes?" A tilt came upon her eyes then, reminding him of Kakashi, the only Hatake he trusted as of now, and the careful blankness within her gaze had tainted it. His sensei had been a good man, Naruto forced himself to remember; a caring man, not an Omega woman with something hidden within her glare. Alas, she spoke again: "A girl or a boy what do you think? Well, with an Uchiha it hardly matters, they are always born an alpha yes?"
After that, she left.
Uchiha Naru considered the daunting dread settling within, one of which he would rather play ignorant of. Strange, more then, that a woman he had known scarce few days should know of a pregnancy he had yet to disclose onto his own Homupowa. The feeling making home inside him was one indistinguishable.
------------------------
Several days hitherto, Hashirama sat among them, a visit of good nature he had bid. Though he had seen fit to make apologies for his previous behaviour, even bowing unto the hanayome of the house -a gesture though appreciated had made Naruto quite uncomfortable. The man was lively, so to see him remorseful had tripped him within slightly. Now, they all sat politely discussing light topics over some small snack items Naru had found himself making, and sencha-tea.
The omega Uchiha found himself grateful for the absence of Uzumaki Mito; having been made discomforted by her intense presence as of late. Tobirama had also made himself scarce, apparently he was organizing papers within the Hokage's office. Naru knew not if that gladdened him, the rivalry shared betwixt the man and his own husband was reaching a dangerous point and he had more then once found a joust of sorts occurring between them over something irrelevant.
Further still, he had found himself shoved closely, near attop his husband. Not un-gladly per say, though the gesture did appear a slight possessive while before Hashirama's watchful gaze. There was the appearance of a 'cuddle' as he'd heard it referred to within his own time, as he rested on Madara's side. In taking advantage though inappropriate, he kissed underneath the man's jawline, drawing a surprised glance from black eyes. Naruto half expected a reprimand, but instead he received a kiss onto his cheek in return.
Feeling emboldened, he rose, "more tea?" He addressed their guest mainly, apprehensive that the fellow Omega may take his actions to be made out of jealousy; when they had only been out of an overwhelming affectionate empassion. Naru knew, if Hashirama had not been sitting at their table, something indecent would have occurred onto the poor wood. Feeling relieved at the smile made therein by the Hokage.
It was also that he wished to divulge his secret with the man, and his own spouse. Preparing the tea have him the excuse to think without appearing absent-minded. Candidly, he had no thoughts of how to spill the news, Hashirama was acting somewhat of a support -even if he was ignorant of that.- A subtle guilt ate at his nerves, regretful that he had withheld the information in the first place.
Then an idea tripped upon him and he grabbed him some cooked rice, loosening it from the shape it had held. Reforming it to spell out, what he wished, and hoping Madara would not think it a prank or a simple coincidence. The tea he brought over gladly, grinning in a manner perhaps strange, as he set the wooden dish before his husband. Then sat with a twitching expectancy in his limbs; Madara had quick eyes he knew, Naruto suspected the man would not miss something so plain.
However, as a slight self-assurance. "My love, I made that rice special. Perhaps eat it with care?" Then he sipped upon his tea, mainly under nervous duress. Across from him, he gained a sly eye from the Hokage, being ever vigil he too glimpsed at the odd formation to the food.
Then in the most unorthodox manner, the leader of the Uchiha clan spit out his drink upon the Hokage whom near fainted, while the Uchiha matriarch found himself in a fit of laughter. Somewhere above, Naru envisioned another Uchiha Omega with beauticious brown hair was rolling in the clouds.
For the rice was visible for all with working eyes, and it quite plainly stated: 'Fatherhood will suit you.'
