Chapter 26: He Is Marked For Marriage
In a princable rarely agreed, by the hand of a revolution scarcely seen, with a move so controversial it had been cause for protest by many: Naru found himself placed onto a common Uchiha patrol team, comprised of four members including himself. The captain was a man of known skill in Bou, alongside him with equal talent in ranged proficiency -equipped with a bow and multitude of arrows was Maji. A woman Naruto had not met until now, whom spent most of her time on the practise field and was contrived as a renowned hunter for the clan. Nearby was the called upon genjutsu expert, though she had the most vacant of dispositions: here stood Naori, with near no expression of care placed in or upon her.
Naruto had been told by Madara several repetitive times, his role was in ninjutsu, keeping distance alongside Maji and practise in the use of his fans.Of the sake of support and minimalistic defense. While the lack of faith put into his own ability had driven him close to yelling profanities at his dear husband, the caution displayed was understandable. Therefore, the blond Uchiha had refrained from the action of provoked irritation. Despite the obvious issue Madara had developed with his want for freedom of all alike him. At least in compliance, perhaps even a limited understanding to the plight faced by all Omega within the clan. After all, Naru had discovered there did inlay an empathy much hidden within the man.
From what he had heard by Bou, Wakaba was a strong support of traditional beliefs, that is; the system already implemented. In reckoning, he would be forced to change the manner of thought brought upon by centuries of conduct. Not only to her, but to many of his fellows within the clan. A challenge, made more difficult by the simple want to keep order as it remained, for it had not incurred the wrath as of yet. However, Naru knew well, people were envious in nature, should the status-quo remain, an eventual distance would break free, that, one without regulatory oversight.
"Naru-sama, are you prepared to set out?" Bou asked in a skeptical, likely unprepared manner, it was expected by a certain standard. Though the Matriarch had hoped for a more receptive welcoming to his accompaniment.
"Hai! Are you ready Bou-san?" It was a rather cruel turn around, but as a former- rejoining shinobi, Naruto couldn't help the slight insult brought upon by the question. Although, he would state rather openly, he was uncomfortable with the present attire he wore. Due to standard for those of his kinship, indeed as an Uchiha patrol member: he had been 'gifted,' with the traditional navy robe all Alpha's within the clan wore.
In theory it had the same contorts as a common jounin uniform. Though the make was far less comforting, it was heavy in fabric for travel -therefore thick,- long for better coverage, slightly water resistant, and the torso remained perpetually itchy. The largest issue he had being the high collar, Naruto had the irritating emotional inclination that he was attempting to copy Sasuke. An appearance he had never wished to bare, with stark exceptions.
Madara had also been irate at the outfit presented, stating with an odd hidden face 'do attempt to wear this in a minimalistic fashion.' Which lead Naru to the hilarious conclusion his husband had been embarrassed by the statement. The conversation had hence ended with the large male walking to the kitchen in a place of humiliation, while his bride had laughed outwardly at the expression he had bore, clenching his gut in the fit of amusement so made.
Neither had made apology despite the circumstance, and that, Naru admitted easily, was due in part because of their equal stubbornest nature. A backing of wills was practically a declaration of defeat; both being proud shinobi made that an option not available to either. By manner of their personalities it had been left open and sore, though this was an outcome unwanted by either in consideration of their present ordeal. Naruto had decided however, he would be the last to fold under the pressure of dangerous circumstances; and was currently awaiting Madara to show and give reluctant apology for the sexisim displayed in his statement. Hopefully with an appearance likened to that of an academy student admitting a wrong to the teacher, with bashful expression and innocent visage. Both for an amusement procured, and the confrontation he would therefore face before his subordinates, giving a humility to his reputation as a fearful clan leader.
Naturally, Naru expected little in truth, and therein had no shock as they made ready to leave and there remained no tall darkened man seen about.
Until, with crossed arms and made of stern express a man of six-foot-seven walked with strict pace. Hair behind him in the air, ruffled about with no control provided, uplifted as a mess while also waved in natural fashion. It was due to his peculiar appearance of serious quandary that Naruto had the perception he bore an urgent request.
That was not his reasoning as it came to be stated. For darkened eyes looked upon him with a shimmer of a cleared midnight sky, the black ring shone as well seeming lighter with the kind, unusual, look he donned. In speaking, Madara's gaze remained fixated on the twinkling azure looking up to him in curiosity. However, his words were not for his spouse, but instead the team leader. "Bou, I hope my joining you for the sake of monitoring and measuring my bride's ability will not cause issue. Though, as this is his first mission upon the patrol I would like to assure myself of his capability."
Little was said in apprehension, not in fear of his prowess, but in agreement of reasoning.
Reluctant, Naru admitted his own understanding of the excuse put forth. Despite the annoyance it bore upon him. There was an acceptance also brought by the statement he despised making exception onto. Regardless, his teammates all nodded or bowed in agreement -in accordance with their rank within the patriarchy.- -Once more Naru had the inner wish his clan was a matriarchy as the Senju. At least, he would have heightened placement in accordance with his actual skill as a shinobi.
The clear sexism he noted by the born Uchiha of his clan was a strange opinion to the mind of the beauticious Omega. In consideration of the dominating fact: the Senju had fought many a time with the Uchiha during the wars of The Era of Warring States. Which they had separated from in the name of peace. Certainly, they could then acknowledge the capacity of Omega on the battlefield by that standard.
Even so, there remained a clear distinction between the two second sexes within the Uchiha clan at least.
Ignoring his forceful urge to speak clear, they set out without further preamble. Formed in a common manner of guard. Naruto found himself in the most protected placement, and despite his own acknowledgement as the supporting role alongside their long distance hunter, it wounded his pride to be kept so sheltered. In looking towards Maji, he questioned invisibilly if she had the same qualms as he. Knowing, his concerns were less appropriate while on duty then when made inside the clan grounds, he focused himself to the task at hand. Among them, the sensory type was Bou and Madara. In accordance with this, he would be the one to inform of an impending attack. Therein Naruto was keeping himself apprehensive in lack of his own skill in sensory.
In an odd coincidence of fact they came upon the scene of a struggle. Upon his own random understanding of the clans they were looking into, he found stray hairs of pink and red and marks of slashed katana. To his untrained eye, it appeared as a battleground for the Haruno and Hatake. Though, he doubted the accuracy in that thought point, as he couldn't automatically make assumption that all Haruno looked as Sakura did. Or indeed, draw a conclusion from his own minimalistic dealings with the Hatake clan.
Seemingly as a response to his bride's self questioning, Madara stepped forth, and following a brief examination; nodded to himself, giving glance to Bou as if in a confirmation. "Check that these are Hatake markings, I want near certainty before action is to be taken. Further, look around for any signs of the Kinki clan, knowing the Haruno clan's abilities they would not have been able to survive for so long a battle against an enemy of any such prowess." None drew long action as understanding, merely a quick nod before moving away to seek evidence.
Not knowing his role well enough, Naruto remained in the main area, alongside his husband who was continuing his own appraisal of the left-over weapons, blood, and jutsu burns or slashes left on the trees and ground. Vastly placed in concentration he wandered the area with the disposition of a man taken away. Naru was no fool herein, and knew that his own ability in servayance was weak, and had been since his time in the academy. Just as his skill with genjutsu, ironic considering whom he had married. One he did not take vast time to think upon, as for some reason or another, his thoughts always strayed to his old best friend, long past gone to seeketh power.
Onward, they found the fight was indeed between Haruno members and Hatake strays. This, by the confrontation they faced in seeming acknowledgement of their conclusion. Many groups of silver haired men and women of equal ability surrounded them. Primed for battle, with little knowledge of their backup nearby. Automatically, and in a form of insult Madara covered his bride with no thought made to Naruto's own prowess of fighting skill. Regardless of what he had shown in previous; after having killed the former leader of the Hatake as he had. Still, a calmness settled over the begrudged Uchiha Omega, in considering his husband's adaptation to his fighting place within their clan. That did not mean he was complicit unto the insult made.
"Madara- I am completely capable, remember dattebayo?" Although that did cause his question to come forth slightly irate. In response, the powerful man regained himself reluctantly and placed a calmer demeanor rather then the aggressive overprotective predator he had been displaying as threat.
Nearby, and within a moment, an arrow struck swift inside the head of a close enemy reading a jutsu. Then another, into one who was preparing similarly, in such quick succession no time was given for movement. After the first two however, they seemingly realized the danger and moved backwards swiftly. Though that is when Maji was engaged by a man wielding two tando, only blocked by Naori in a rage, with her much larger blade in a clash of metal sounding throughout the circumference of trees. A growl resonated from her, and her sharingan was blaring in challenge.
As response to the fight, Naru activated two clones for aid, confronting one man directly before him ready to kill. It was a fearful principle for him, for what would happen if he managed to kill Kakashi's grandfather? Then his own life would lose meaning, would it not?
Yet still, he clashed his rasengan spiraling hand into the abdomen of the man before him. Then jumped away and replaced himself with a shadow clone to fool the remaining fighters.
Glancing to Madara he found the man was seemingly having an enthusiastic ball with his time of frivolously. A smile shifted upon him then, glazing the tanned visage with a brightness in the mid placement of a battle. But within his experience of being uncaring towards his methods, he found himself unconcerned for the possible injury that his enemies around may see fit to inflict. Soon incurring as it so happened, upon him at his flank. To which, as a response he saw as suitable practise for his fans, and made a quick slash outwards with his razor's edge. Cutting a clean tear on the neck of his opponent.
A new experience as his training with his fans was more then slightly limited. In addition to having killed only one or two persons in general, one with blades, the other with the razors edge of his fans. Moreso, as his comrades were uncaring in the preservation of life, especially as these attackers were no more then Hatake clan members, and therefore sworn enemies. As such, bodies were falling all around, and Naruto knew he would have to show more of a contributing mindset were he to be accepted as a fighting member of his clan. That is, as the Omega's in his clan were not expected to fight in any regard, he would have to show a willingness to kill, no matter his true thoughts on the subject.
For the betterment of his own people.
----------------------
They returned with slow paces, one walking forth with a limp on their right leg from a lucky jab unfortunately unseen. This injury had befallen Maji, though it had disabled her aim slightly, she had the skill needed to hold her bow in proper form and remain focused enough to hit her chosen targets.
Madara had decided to make Naru summon clones to aid in the execution. Two, as a distraction, while he helped with killing Naori's attacker with a jutsu impacted from his fans which had never before used: this as a type of swift sweeping meant as a deadly cut. While Naruto could clearly recall his own husband making a reckless move of motion and taking upon the leader with a blunt hit from his Gunbai. Then in a finish, slashed his chest appart with the tear of his sheathed katana. Impressive, and though he found his eyes in revery of the quick thought move, the former Uzumaki still disliked the methodology used, regardless of an advanced experience displayed by his Uchiha spouse.
Still, a challenge, he did not make present until the village -settlement- came into view. For the purpose of safety he had begun to examine more closely the understanding in a well placed caution. It was what this new timeline he had become involved with demanded of his caricature now, both as a Uchiha Bride: therein, the Matriarch. While in addition to that: as a man feigning having been born inside the Era of Warring States, as everyone else within the clans there was an expectation he must showcase as a knowledgeable shinobi in battle.
Under that logic, Naruto had decided he was perfectly suited to scold his husband for what he had seen as an idiotic choice.
As it occured, this happened under the vision of the entire patrol ensemble, at what would become the gateway of Konoha. Three Senju guardsmen therefore bore witness to the event; with a laughter contained under their palms, due to the four Haruno guests they so happened to be conversing with.
-Although, it should be clarified the engagement of Uchiha Naruto's scorn was a product made just prior to reaching the vision of the Senju and Haruno members.- Yet, with the abrupt and loud voice of the Matriarch outreaching even himself: the blond patrol newcomer came to notice the humiliation he was invoking only after having an embarrassed Patriarch glare upon him with the force of a kunai, accompanied alongside the flared cheekbones unfitting of an Uchiha's pale complexion.
Wherein, Uchiha Madara had an indignity put upon him unexpectedly, and Naruto found himself the unintentioned cause.
In response, the Omega fled the scene swiftly, utilizing a speed unment for one of his station within his clan. To find himself at his own house, collapsing onto his own porch. No grace to be witnessed despite his position pertaining to showcasing that.
Hoping fruitlessly for the wisping form of Kou to come as a comfort. Disregarding momentarily his own fear of ghosts.
Instead, he chooses to close his eyes and wish away the mistakes he had made on this day. Both in making mockery of his husband in front of a potential ally. While also displaying rebellion as an Omega upon a patrol of a clan foreboding their involvement as shinobi. He knew not what stance Sakura's clan had on equality for she had never before mentioned it onto him, but he thought her to be an Omega herself so there was potential of equal considerations.
"Naruto-kun." An unexpectant stoic tone reaches upon his closed ears as a grasp for attention. Turning, he sees Tobirama baring upon him as a cold figure of ice made demeanour. "A moment of your time?" Though he does consider it an odd occurrence, Naru knows better then to reject the man. Never Minding his own husband's cold disposition towards the younger Senju, he at least, had formed a tentative friendship with the reclusive Alpha. In respect of this, an open minded reception would be kind of him.
"Of course Tobi, what's up?" His formal tone fled unexpectedly. Though, the attempt he gave in order to fix the language used was weak. A fact Naruto, in his current state of emotion, gave no particular care onto; as his thoughts were given slightly onto Madara's expected anger towards him, rather then a concern unto current day slang.
"I will soon be requesting a delegate to arrive from the Uzumaki clan, would you be available to write a notice unto them sending pleasant tydings, and hopeful inclinations priour to my letter?"
A panic coursed throughout his bloodstream as a poison of deadly toxicity.
There were many concerns shoved upon him suddenly, indeed, unwelcomely at the request. A lie unceremoniously made, truthful quandaries to be litigated. Understanding his deadly position he made quick thought into how he may save himself from possible persecution. A use of his name would be wise, though endangering in consideration of his unknown heritage.
Naru made a silence onto himself, recalling what he had told Hashirama and Madara upon his first arrival within Konoha. Hopeful at the chance of salvation inlain.
"Ah, Tobirama-kun, I could indeed send such a letter. However, they would not receive it kindly should it be written by my hand. As I have mentioned unto Hashi-kun, and my Homupowa, my clan and I share merely a bond of detest. Why, as it stands, I doubt they would care to even remember who I am!" Was that a convincing argument to be made? He knew not, though he did have faith that it was in line with what he had told Madara and the Hokage, after having been rescued.
Azure eyes met briefly in a clash with widened scarlet. Before there was a resigned sigh, and a point of red was fully shown to him as the disgruntled Senju turned to look away in irritation.
"I see." The man said nothing further, though that seemed to be in due course with his plausible anger at the situation. "That is unfortunate, I was hopeful you could give recommendation unto one of your friendships or relatives for a plausible marriage candidate for me." A pause took him then, a wedding candidate sounded more serious in tone then a mere arrangement of agreement! Naru startled at this, not yet indignant but nearing such a state.
"Marriage?! What!- What do you mean dattebayo?!" The blond, blue irised beauty gave a great shout, surprising his fellow Omega's within the Uchiha district and making a grand show of his shock. Momentarily, his eyes decided to flare in brightened bijuu red as an attestment to his confusion and accompanied anger at the statement made by his friend. Standing, though shorter by near a head as protest and glaring in challenge.
In shaken attempt to calm the baffling situation he had found himself thrust into Tobirama maintained a steady demeanor in his response.
"Yes, a marriage Naru." Using his informal name and lacking honourific for the familiar effect it may procure on the -unexpectedly, enraged Uchiha bride. "In order to secure a certain and formal alliance, the Uzumaki have requested an arranged marriage contract between our two clans. I was hopeful you may recommend a fiance for me before the contract is written in seal."
Naruto was still upset by the expectation put upon his friend. Ignoring highly, the previous discontentment he had maintained for the younger Senju brother. However, with a certain understanding that his control of the calamity was limited he gave a great huff instead, and stomped his foot. Doing no damage onto the ground as expected, though he did turn to his stoic companion, a glare forming as rarity upon his normally brightened features. This, due more as an act of confusion then actual begrudgment.
"In seal? Do you mean that the Uzumaki are going to draw this contract up as a seal so that you cannot be released from it?" A gentle sigh was given by the annoyed silver man, a slight nod taken by the Uchiha as a confirmation. "But what if they put something in there that makes this all awful?! What if they make it so that you have to move to Uzushiogakure?"
A consideration that had Naruto in both a panic and a concern for all involved. It was a possibility after all.
"That is not likely, for they are our sister clan, this is merely a formality for continued peace." An assurity was placed highly in his tone, though the former Uzumaki felt not that same confidence.
