Part 3- New beginnings
"Oh no, oh no! I can't believe I’m late for class!" Rainbow Dash panicked as she sped out of her house, her backpack barely hanging onto her shoulder.
She hadn’t exactly gotten an early start that morning, thanks to a late-night video game session. Now, she was in full-blown panic mode, her heart racing as fast as her feet.
"How lucky am I to have super speed?" she thought with a smirk as the wind whipped through her hair.
"That’s definitely gotta count as 20% cooler," she added with a chuckle, her confidence rising. Canterlot High was just a blur in the distance now. Today, she was determined to make it to class on time for once—a small miracle in itself.
As she zipped through the front entrance, the bell rang, and students began flooding the hallways. Rainbow gritted her teeth. "Almost there," she thought, weaving through the crowd. Her feet moved faster, her instincts sharp. She wasn’t going to be late today.
Or so she thought.
Just as she rounded a corner, a slight miscalculation sent her careening into someone.
Bam!
The impact knocked Rainbow slightly off balance, but the other student was thrown to the ground with a sickening thud.
Rainbow winced, turning to see a girl sprawled out on the floor, completely unconscious. Her stomach dropped like a rock. "Oh no, oh no, oh no..."
For a second, Rainbow froze, staring at the girl’s motionless form. Then the guilt hit her like a freight train.
"Well, that’s just great. Principal Celestia’s going to kill me!" she thought, running a hand through her hair. Her gaze darted around the empty hallway. Everyone else had already made it to class. It was just her—and the girl she’d just knocked out cold.
Rainbow knelt down, shaking the girl’s shoulder gently. "Hey, uh... you okay? Can you hear me?" Nothing.
She sighed and slung the girl’s arm over her shoulder. "Looks like I’m going to the nurse’s office."
***
When Rainbow burst into the nurse’s office, the school nurse—Nurse Redheart—looked up in alarm. Her worried expression quickly turned into a frown.
"Rainbow Dash, what were you thinking?"
Rainbow shifted awkwardly, lowering her head. "I, uh... didn’t mean for anyone to get hurt. It was an accident, I swear!"
The nurse sighed, crossing her arms. "Accident or not, this is serious. She’s unconscious! What exactly were you doing?"
Rainbow winced. "I was just trying to get to class on time..."
The nurse muttered something under her breath before gently inspecting the unconscious girl. After a moment, she let out a relieved sigh.
"She’s going to be fine," the nurse said. "Looks like she just got knocked out cold. Still, that doesn’t mean this is minor. You need to be more careful."
Rainbow nodded, guilt etched across her face. "I will. I’m really sorry."
The nurse looked at her, her stern expression softening slightly. "Do you know who she is?"
Rainbow frowned, taking a closer look at the girl—turquoise braided hair, gleaming topaz-coloured skin, blue eyes. She shook her head. "Nope. I’ve never seen her before."
The nurse nodded thoughtfully. "Well, let’s hope Principal Celestia doesn’t take this too hard on you."
Rainbow sighed. "Yeah. Me too." She lingered for a moment longer, watching as the nurse carefully placed the girl on the cot. Then, with a glance at the clock, panic struck again.
"I’m late!" Rainbow yelped, dashing out of the office.

CJ’s eyes fluttered open, her head throbbing like someone had decided to throw a parade with drums inside her skull.
"Ugh... my head," she groaned, trying to sit up. Her surroundings were hazy—sterile white walls, the faint smell of antiseptic, and an unmistakable sense of "you-don’t-belong-here."
"Where am I?" she muttered under her breath, her memories swirling in a chaotic fog.
The door creaked open, and a middle-aged woman in a nurse’s uniform stepped in, her face lighting up in relief.
"Oh, good! You’re awake," the nurse said with a warm smile. "You’re in the nurse’s office. You were knocked out by accident, but you’re safe now."
CJ blinked, her brain lagging a step behind. "Knocked out? Seriously? What, did I wander into a dodgeball game or something?"
The nurse chuckled softly, folding her arms. "Not quite. One of the students bumped into you—looks like it was a bit more than your head could handle."
CJ frowned, images of a blur and a flash of color surfacing in her mind. "A student? What, are they training for the Olympics around here? Because whoever it was, they’ve got a heck of a sprint."
The nurse raised an amused eyebrow, taking a sip of her coffee. "You’re sharp for someone who just woke up. And no, it wasn’t a race—just an accident. The student who bumped into you brought you here herself. I think she felt awful about it."
CJ leaned back against the cot, wincing slightly. "Well, that’s... considerate, I guess. Though, leaving me in a hallway probably would’ve been a bad look for her."
The nurse laughed. "True enough. What’s your name, by the way?"
CJ hesitated for a moment before responding, "CJ. CJ Sapphire."
The nurse’s warm smile widened. "That’s a lovely name. How are you feeling? Anything still bothering you?"
CJ shrugged lightly, testing her limbs for any unexpected surprises. "Eh, I’m not ready to run a marathon, but I think I’ll live."
The nurse nodded, her tone reassuring. "That’s what I like to hear. Just take it slow, all right? And maybe avoid the high-speed lanes in the hallways from now on."
CJ smirked faintly, standing up with a small wave. "Got it. Thanks for patching me up, Doc. Or, uh, Nurse."
Nurse Redheart chuckled again. "Just doing my job. Be careful out there, CJ."

As CJ made her way toward Principal Celestia’s office, her thoughts simmered with a mix of frustration and dry amusement.
"So... I got knocked out on my first day of school," she muttered, rolling her eyes at the absurdity. A wry smile tugged at her lips.
"Not exactly the fresh start I had in mind. But hey, at least the nurse thinks I’m sharp. Small victories."
She straightened her shoulders, letting out a breath as she pushed the embarrassment aside. Whatever came next, it couldn’t possibly be worse than this... could it?

Hey y'all, so basically this whole fan fiction is based off of mlp( one of my all time favourite cartoons) in Equestria girls as mentioned in the synopsis. Just wish I'd done this earlier 🤧🤧
Let's just say I was inspired after watching episode after episode to the extent that I got obsessed lol
Also, this is my first time ever writing fan fiction so I'm trying my best. Feel free to comment <3
