"So, what do you think about this tournament then?" Cedric asked me, his legs hanging off the side of the astronomy tower. It had become almost a daily thing now; we would sneak up here either during the day or at night, just to enjoy each other's companies.

The dark blue sky had a sense of warmth springing from the cold. The blue haze of day lifted to reveal the stars, which were now a canopy for the castle. It is the pure black that makes the moon so beautiful at this time of day; when the sun had left.

I chuckled, "honestly?" I asked him.

"Honestly."

"I think it's a load of bullocks, if you don't mind me saying. And that's not just because Quidditch is cancelled, but because it gives three people the right to gloat for the rest of the year. I mean, it makes anyone else that entered feel like shit and unworthy and frankly it's too dangerous for even seventeen year olds to compete in. I mean, what sort of safe school allows their students to enter, let alone host, a contest like this; it's insane."

"Oh." he looked almost taken aback and slightly, disappointed by my answer.

"Sorry, that was a bit harsh. I guess it could be fun." I shrugged.

"Do you think you will enter?"

"Nah, probably not. If I do, I know full well I won't be selected. So like I said, I'd feel like shit."

He chuckled, "you don't know that."

I gave him a look and then focussed back on the night sky and sighed. With a yawn I got up, "I should probably get back; it's getting late." I offered out my hand and he took it. With force, I helped him on his feet. "Night Ced." I smiled up at him and began heading for the stairs down, back to the rest of the castle.

"Y/N, wait." he said gently. I turned back around and he walked towards me.

"Yes?"

Without warning he grabbed my arm delicately and pulled me closer, pressing his lips against mine. It was, well perfect. Like fireworks exploding around us. And suddenly the world fell away. It was everything and more than I had imagined. It was slow and soft, comforting in ways that words would never be. He pulled me closer until there was no space left between us and I could feel the beating of his heart against my chest. Before I broke away, I smiled and I could feel him smiling back.

"Will you do me the honour and be by girlfriend, Y/N?" and with those words, I think my heart melted.
I nodded with a large, sweet smile. That was all that was needed.

Cedric and I shared a few more moments since the one on the astronomy tower, some in public, but very few and it was mostly just the two of us on our own. We had held hands, here and there, but nothing too obvious. I didn't really want that many people knowing just yet. I simply didn't want to move too fast; I really didn't want to mess this up.

Since then, we had spent more time with each other and today I was sitting at the Hufflepuff table for lunch, not to the delight of Spencer and Ava, but I'm sure they'll get over it. I think Will had been slightly embarrassed by me being around his friends too, but honestly, I think the two of us had become more fond of each other since the end of summer and start of the new school year; so he let it slide. I had actually been getting along with Cedric's friends, and it turned out, none of them were at all bad to be around; pleasant actually.

I was laughing with a few people sat by me and surprisingly, none of them seemed to care that much by my green robes and snake emblem that I currently wore.

"I think I'm going to enter the tournament."

I had never reacted to speech quicker: I spat out my water and almost choked on it.

"No you're not." I replied, smiling sarcastically.

"Y/N, yes I am."

"No, you're not." I put down my drink.

"Oi Y/N, don't be such a controlling girlfriend." Anthony laughed, from a little further down the table.

"I'm not being a controlling girlfriend, Ant. I'm being a sensible one." I had now turned back to Cedric. "Ced, people die in this tournament." a bit more of a concerned tone to my voice.

"So you don't believe in me?"

"It's not that. I care about you too much to let you do this, that's all."

I heard a few 'awws' from the rest of the table, one being Malcom and Anthony and I shot them a sarcastic look.

"That's sweet, but you can't change my mind." he took a bite out of his toast.

"Fine then. If you're going to be stubborn and stupid, I will too. I'm hereby entering the Triwizard tournament."

"Woah, woah, woah. Y/N, are you serious?"

"Well that's not very 'supportive boyfriend' of you, is it Ced?"

He chuckled, "fine. Good luck." he offered his hand and I playfully shook it.

Was I sure about this? No. Did I want to kick my boyfriend's ass? Yes.

The great hall had been transformed to a sort of arena, the goblet of fire at the centre. Hermione and I were sat on the stands, observing the people entering the tournament and as they did, you would hear the occasional applaud.

"I can't believe you're going to enter, Y/N." she said, closing her book.

"Neither can I, Hermione. But if he wants to be stubborn, then I respect that. And by that I mean, do the exact same thing." I smiled proudly and resumed reading. Since recently, I had not just been spending more time with the Hufflepuffs, but also with the Gryffindors; specifically, Hermione. I felt bad for how I treated her, and I honestly have changed. "Hey, 'Mione."

She looked up from her book, "yes, Y/N?"

"I-I'm sorry for how I used to treat you. It was cruel and completely wrong. I hope you can forgive me?"

She chuckled, to my surprise, "of course I can. I knew deep down you didn't truly mean what you said." my shoulders released all tension and I sighed, a sigh of relief. It was true; I don't think I actually did mean anything I used to say to her.

Before I could read the next line of my book, she nudged me teasingly. I looked up to see a group of Hufflepuffs, Cedric in the middle, all of them encouraging him. Well, let me rephrase that, forcing him, into the age ring. He looked directly at me, as he stepped into the circle of magic, surrounding the goblet, which was stopping anyone under the age of seventeen from entering.

He had lifted his hand, ready to put the parchment into the flame, when he stopped and froze for a moment. It was then when I put down my book, got up and approached him, joining him in the ring.

"Cold feet?" I asked him with satisfaction.

"None at all." I could tell it was an act. He was nervous, I knew it. But none the less, his name was now deep in the clear blue flame, that gleamed in the light of the great hall. The room erupted, once again, with applaud, the main source being Anthony and Malcom.

"Well that's lucky then, because I had my name all ready and pre-written, in case you didn't in fact chicken out." I pulled out the parchment, of which my name was scribbled onto, and poised my arm, ready to let it go.

"Y/N, you don't have to do this." he said.

"Oh but I do. You see Ced, it's called making a point." he didn't say anything. "Why, you think you're a better wizard than I am a witch?"

He chuckled, shaking his head, "course not."

"Well then." I released the paper into the flame and the room praised my braveness. I smirked at the boy and turned away, but before I could return to my seat, he once again grabbed me by my arm and whipped me around. He pulled me towards him by my waist and his lips brushed up against mine. I simply couldn't stop smirking the entire embrace. The room whistled and clapped as he finally broke away. "Wow Diggory, I didn't think you were one for PSAs." I said, still smirking.

He laughed, "well I guess you found that out the hard way." he winked.
