➵ Valentines Day
Before Season 6a
"Nevah, wake up." Someone grumbled out, shaking my shoulders as I lay comfortably in my bed.
"No, go away." I swatted their hands away and pulled the covers over my head.
"Gods! Nevah, I know you miss Stiles and it being Valentines Day must suck, but you need to get up!" The person whines, most likely Percy.
"See, that's a bigger reason as to why I should mope in my bed and stuff my face with food while watching some romantic movie by myself whilst crying." I shot back, my heart already aching for not being able to go see Stiles today due to school.
"Nev..." The covers were pulled away from my face as my older brother kneeled in front of my bed. Percy frowned as he looked at me worriedly.
"Don't give me that look, Perce. I don't need your pity." I muttered, crossing my arms and looking away from him.
"Do you really feel like this today? I can canc-ow! What the hell Nevah?" Percy cried out, holding his bicep where I punched him.
"No way in Hades am I allowing you to finish that sentence." I wagged my finger at him with a glare. "You are not canceling your date with Annabeth because Stiles is busy with school and homework today in order for me to go over there. You two rarely have the time to go on actual dates. I'll be fine. Maybe I can invite Peter and Ned over and have like an Anti-Valentines Day thing."
"But you actually have a boyfriend." Percy pointed out with a smirk. "So technically, it won't be an Anti-Valentines Day thing."
"Shut up." I pushed his face away and grumpily swung my legs over my bed. Percy laughed and stood up.
"C'mon, I still have a few hours until I see Annabeth. We can go make breakfast for everyone before we have to head to school." Percy ruffled my hair.
"Fine. Whatever. Will you buy some chocolates and pizza before you go on your date?" I sighed, getting out of my bed.
"Sure, whatever it takes to shut up your whining." Percy teased. I glared at him, taking a step forward to punch him again. My brother dodged the swing and ran out of my room laughing. "I'll get started on the pancakes!"
"Stupid brothers. Stupid Valentines Day." I uttered as I crossed my arms and stomped out of my room. As I walked into the kitchen, I saw my older brother take out the ingredients for pancakes. Nothing that he doesn't have the cooking tools, I went to the cupboard. "Can't I just skip today and mope?"
"Nope!" Percy sang out, giving me a cheeky smile. I sighed and handed him the bowl and whisk.
"You sure? I am totally fine with skipping today. I don't have to mope."
I suggested, not in the mood to go to school today and see all the cute lovey doves couples and valentines gifts.
"I'm positive." Percy told me, giving me a look. I groaned and childishly stomped my foot.
"But I really don't want to! Please don't let me-wait I don't have to ask for your permission. Ha, I can totally skip without your consent." I stuck out my tongue at him and skipped over to the fridge once I noticed the lack of fruits.
"What?" Percy dropped the whisk into the batter. "Uh, no you so need my consent! I'm the big brother here."
"Exactly." I smirked, closing the fridge with my foot due to the amount of fruit in my arms. "Big brother, not guardian."
"But-that is so not cool." Percy glared at me, picking up the batter covered whisk with disgust. With a dramatic sigh, he grabbed a napkin and cleaned it. "I can still tell Mom."
"Tell me what?" Sally asked as she walked into the kitchen.
"Nothing!" I smiled innocently. Sally perked an eyebrow and looked over at Percy. My brother sent me a smug grin. I quickly set the fruit down on the counter and rushed towards him. "Percy, don't you-"
"She is planning on skipping school." Percy quickly let out before I was able to cover his mouth.
"Snitch." I dropped my hand from his mouth, before rewarding him with another punch to his arm.
"Gah, you're so violent today!" Percy hissed as he rubbed the sore area.
"Kids..."Sally gave us a stern look. Sighing, Sally turned to face me. "What's the reason why you don't want to go to school today?"
"Mom, I think you know why." Percy licked his lips, crossing his arms.
"Nevah?" Sally waited for me to answer.
"Like Percy said, you know why." I mumbled, averting my gaze from the both of them. From the corner of my eyes, I saw Sally and Percy give each a knowing look.
"Okay...you can skip today. But only today, do you understand?" Sally said. I quickly looked at her with wide eyes.
"Really!? Yes, yeah of course!" I exhaled in relief. "You won't even notice I'm here."
"I'm pretty sure she will with your plans of moping around." Percy teased. I sent him a glare. Chuckling he raised his hands up in defense. "Just saying."
"Can we just finish making the pancakes so I can eat in misery?" I exhaled, holding the urge to punch Percy...again.
"Yeah, I'm hungry anyways." Percy nodded, turning the stove on with the griddle already starting to warm up.
"Did you get the chocolate syrup out?" I asked, putting a three drops of blue food dye into the pancake batter.
"Oh my gods, I forgot about the chocolate syrup!" Percy ran to the fridge, desperately looking for the syrup. Sally and I laughed, shaking our heads.
"I'll cook the pancakes." Sally informed us. "The last time I let you two make these, you guys almost caught the apartment on fire."
"That was all his fault!" I instantly pointed my finger at Percy, who was barely closing the fridge door.
"No it wasn't!" Percy denied. "You distracted me!"
"All I did was bring up the time I caught you and-"
"Okay!" Percy rushed over and covered my mouth with his hand. He sheepishly looked over towards Sally, his facing heating up. I laughed at his red face. She raised an eyebrow at the both of us.
"I don't even want to know."
Sally shook her head.
"Good choice Mom. Smart choice." Percy nervously chuckled out.
"Are you done with the batter, sweetheart?" Sally pointed towards the bowl. I nodded and handed it over.
"By the way, where's Paul? He's usually up by now." I asked, going to get the plates.
"Umm, he's picking something up. Should be back soon." Sally told me. I nodded and started to set the table with the plates.
As Sally finished making the last pancake, Percy and I finished setting up the table. We just finished pouring apple juice into the cups when the doorbell rang.
"That's probably Paul, Nevah, can you please go open the door, dear?" Sally called over her shoulder as she placed the pancake on a plate full of pancakes.
"Sure." I nodded, walking past Percy. He gave me a cheeky grin, sending me a wink before assisting his mother. Furrowing my eyebrows in confusion, I unlocked the door and swung it open. Expecting to see my step-father, I was greeted by a swarm of red heart balloons and a hand sticking out with a hand full of roses.
"Uh?" I let out, not sure how to respond.
"You can go ahead and go in, son." I heard Paul say behind the red balloons.
The person carrying in the balloons walked into the door, only for a few of them to be caught on the door.
"Are you kidding me?" I very familiar voice groaned out.
My heart stopped beating as my eyes widened. I quickly stepped in front of the man and pushed aside the balloons in search of his face. A grin spread across my lips as Stiles looked at me with his familiar smile.
"Happy Valentine's Day!" He let out. I let out a shriek of excitement and wrapped my arms around his neck. "Woah! I've missed you too."
"You're an idiot for lying to me." I muffled out, my face buried in his neck. Tears sprung in my eyes as I smacked his shoulder.
"Ignore her, she's been very violent today." Percy told Stiles. "And emotional. Maybe she's on her-"
"Finish that sentence Perseus. I dare you." I turned around to glare at him. He sent me a small smile, and snapped his mouth shut. "Smart choice."
"I would hate to break this heart full moment, but I would like to enter my own apartment please." Paul called out from the hallway. Chuckling, I helped Stiles enter the apartment. We managed to bring all of the balloons in without popping them. Paul closed the door behind him and breathed in the aroma of the food we just made. "Glad to know we came just in time for breakfast. Nevah, why don't you and Stiles take your gifts into you room before joining us for breakfast."
I nodded and wrapped my arms around Stiles', tugging him towards my room. The smile on my face hasn't left and it was starting to hurt my cheeks.
"Why didn't you tell me you were coming?" I asked as I opened the door.
"Well, that would ruin the surprise, wouldn't it? And I didn't expect you to be all sad about it either, otherwise I would have told you." Stiles nervously chuckled out, making a face as he awkwardly scratched at his neck.
"Sure." I rolled my eyes and helped Stiles carry the balloons in. We placed them in the corner of my room.
"It's been a while since I've been in your room." Stiles said, gently laying the roses on my nightstand. "I think the last time-"
"Shut up." I mumbled, pecking him on the lips.
"Well don't stop kissing me." Stiles smirked, tucking a lock of my hair behind my ear. "After all, it is Valentines Day."
I chuckled, wrapping my arms around his neck. Stiles cupped my face, molding his lips with mine. He bit my bottom lip, causing a moan to escape from me.
"Stiles," I breathlessly started. "Everyone is in the kitchen."
"So?" He muttered, rubbing his nose against mine.
"Breakfast? I'm hungry." I breathed out, trying to hold back the urge to make out with my boyfriend.
"Breakfast can wait. I haven't seen or kissed you in a long while." Stiles rubbed his thumb across my cheekbone.
"Alright guys, please don't be making out." Percy stumbled into my room with his hands covering his eyes. "I don't want to see any of that."
Stiles harshly mumbled incoherently under his breath before giving Percy a glare.
"We're not making out." I grumbled out.
"Oh thank the gods. It was very uncomfortable last time and I plan on never experiencing that every again." Percy sighed in relief as he dropped his hands from his face. He raised an eyebrow at the position Stiles and I were in. "You guys were close to a make out session, weren't you."
"No." I quickly let out.
"Yeah we were." Stiles scoffed as he narrowed his eyes at Percy. "And you sir, ruined it."
"Glad to help." Percy smirked, giving us a mock salute. "Now come on, foods already getting cold and I'm sure you don't want to answer any uncomfortable questions from Paul and my mom."
Holding back a groan, I intertwined my hand with Stiles as we followed Percy into the kitchen. Sally just finished placing the pancakes onto the plates.
"Blue pancakes? Why aren't they red?" Stiles asked, staring at the blue breakfast.
"Why would they be red?" Percy scoffed as he sat down.
"Well I don't know, it being Valentines Day and the color red being associated with it?" Stiles sarcastically rolled his eyes at my brother. The both of us sat down next to each other, already starting to dig into our breakfast.
"Nevah," Percy looked at me, "you haven't told him about our love for anything blue?"
"Um," I nervously scratched my neck. "I've mentioned it? Sorta."
"Well, ever since Percy was little and I was still with my first husband Gabe-"
"Which was a prick." Percy angrily muttered the last word in Ancient Greek, stabbing his fork into the pancakes.
"He made the comment that there is no such thing as blue food." Sally ignored Percy's comment and continued. "So, Percy and I got all the blue candy, drinks and pastries. And if we ever bake anything here, we make it blue."
"Well that makes more since now." Stiles turned to face me, trying to force back a smile.
"I grew to love it. Not my fault." I shrugged, my cheeks starting to heat up.
"So, Stiles, what's the plan for today?" Paul asked, cutting a piece of the pancake.
"It's actually up to Nevah. If she wants to go out or stay in here."
"I can order pizza and we can watch cheesy movies." I suggested, taking a bite of the blue goodness.
"Sounds great." Stiles beamed, taking a hold of my hand.
"I think I'm going to barf." Percy jokingly let out.
"Oh shut up, you're the same with Annabeth." I shot back, sticking my tongue out at him.
"She's got a point there." Paul nodded, smiling at a blushing Percy.
"You're not supposed to side her her." Percy grumbled out, angrily taking a bit of the pancake. "Just let me eat my blue food in peace."
———
"We have 27 Dresses, Mama Mia!, the Prince & Me, Princess Bride, and Another Cinderella Story." I called over my shoulder, waving the DVDs in my hand. I was kneeling in front of the tv that held the DVDS in the cabinet below it.
Everyone had already left the apartment. Percy was on his date with Annabeth. Paul and Sally we at a dinner that Paul had made reservations for, allowing Stiles and I to have the place to ourselves. Of course it was given to us without a few rules that basically said: nothing to sexual.
"Just pick one, doesn't really matter." Stiles said with a mouthful of pizza.
"But I can't, I love them all." I whined, staring the the movies in my hands.
"Okay, lay them down on the ground and I'll shuffle them. Just close your eyes and which ever movie you pick, we'll watch. Sound good?" Stiles got off of the couch and kneeled in front of me.
"Yeah." I nodded, handing the movies over to him. He sent me a smile, pecking my cheek before he spread out the movies in between us.
"Now, close your eyes." Stiles instructed me. Sighing, I did as I was told. I could hear the shuffling as I started to grow impatient. I slowly peeped an eye open. "Are you done yet?"
"Almost. Don't open your eyes." Stiles told me. I quickly closed my eyes shut.
"I'm not!" I defended myself.
"I'm pretty sure I saw your green eyes Nev. No peeking." Stiles placed a hand over my eyes, causing me to whine in defense. "Okay, now choose one."
"Finally." I sighed in relief. I blindly reached for a DVD and picked it up. I opened my eyes and stared at the movie in my hand. Another Cinderella Story.
"Good choice." Stiles pecked my lips with a smile. "I'll go ahead and put it in."
"Thanks." I beamed, cupping a band on his cheek and bringing him in for another kiss. I stood up and sat o the couch, grabbing a slice of pizza on the way. Taking a bite, I wrapped a blanket over me and waited for Stiles to put the movie in. "How's everyone back in Beacon?"
"They're good. No supernatural activity, more time to actually do school assignments, more relaxing time." Stiles shrugged, putting the DVD in and pressing the main menu button immediately.
"Why does it sound like you're not really happy about that?" I raised an eyebrow, taking another bite of my pizza. Not feeling as comfortable as I can get, I laid across the couch, leaving some room for Stiles.
"Because, with how things typically are in Beacon Hills, this stuff doesn't last long. And don't forget about the warning Cerberus gave you. It's coming soon. I can feel it." Stiles sighed, making his way over to me. I frowned as he laid beside me, laying his head on my chest.
"Hey, it's been a couple of months with anything being supernatural related. Relax, okay?" I muttered, raking my fingers through his hair. He sighed, wrapping his arms around me and snuggling further into me. "Don't stress about it. We already know it's coming soon. Try to appreciate the peace before it's gone."
"You know how I am, though." Stiles muffled out into the blanket. He closed his eyes momentarily, releasing a puff of air.
"I know." I frowned, looking at him with hooded eyes. "But let's have a stress free day and enjoy our time together, Okay? We rarely have time to actually spend a day together in person."
"Yeah, okay." Stiles looked up at me with a smile. "As long as we can make out."
"You are something else." I chuckled out. Propping himself up, he gave me a cheeky grin.
"You didn't say no."
"Shut up and kiss me."
Well how was that for a Valentine's Day gift?
Sorry I haven't been able to fully update any of my chapters for Torrent, Dither, and What's Your Damage? I have been really busy with school and work. I've tried to write but with deadlines and other papers, it takes time away from me. SIGH.
