I fixed up my tie and put on some light powder on my nose. Usually I wasn't one to put on makeup, but today was a special occasion.

I took several deep breaths and put on a clip to keep my bangs from falling into my eyes. "Relax, Elliot. Everything will be fine. Plus, it's not like you'll be alone with her," I mumbled at the mirror.

Knocking knocked me out of my thoughts.

"Who is it?" I asked, striding over to the door.

"It's me," Olivia.

"O-Oli?" I stepped away from the door and opened it. "W-what are you doing here?"

She looked me up and down. "Is there a wedding going on that I don't know about? Or maybe party?"

"What?"

Oli chuckled. "You look as if you're going to a formal occasion." She grabbed my clips. "Hey, these are cute."

I smiled. "Thanks. My sister gifted them to me for my birthday."

"She has good taste."

"I'll be sure to tell her that when I see her." I lowered my eyes. "Think I'll head home tomorrow."

"Huh?"

"The games are going to begin soon. I need to be in Xian to meet my team. There's likely going to be an event to determine who participates too. Unless if my sister plans to pick them all out herself."

Olivia averted her gaze. "I see."
